September 12, 2022DNF @45% p141/320 Chapter 12 (Shera…because there are no other perspectives😑)
I’m just bored.
Not much happened until a couple chapters ago, and we’re only getting Shera’s POV so there’s no telling what the others are up to or thinking.
Plus I’m just getting annoyed by the writing. I can’t put my finger on exactly why though. It’s not super repetitive, but there’s just Something that’s consistently bugging me and it makes me want to skim over everything skip pages.
So now I know.
This author is a bit hit and miss for me.
I like her newest books, and her older books annoy me.🤷🏻♀️

Absolutely loved this book!! The heroine is kickass and knows what she wants. All her men have their own personalities! No M/M or OW drama, in fact I can’t remember any ex lovers being mentioned.
Only downside is single POV, I would normally deduct a star for that....but I really enjoyed the story!

Reading this book the only thing I could think of was watch the world burn🤣 also the song lollipop. I love this series and can’t wait to dive in and read more absolutely amazing stoked to read more.

The blurb was right on describing the story. The mc is tough with some heart. The characters are interesting. I can't wait to see what book 2 brings to the story.

Compelling story and novel idea regarding the hierarchy and world-building. However, I found it a shame that after centuries of suffering and just dealing, the main characters 'just' decide to rebel and in a matter of days have taken over. It seems illogical.

Absolutely loved it, definitely got sucked into this one, unique, amazing worldbuilding and incorporation of different worlds. The FMC is super fun and kick-ass, guys are just yum, hot and steamy scenes, great plot and twists, good writing, had me laughing out loud every now and then. Filled with emotion, action and backbone. Need book two yesterday! A mixed world of Fae, devil, succubus, demons and more. A must read for sure!

3.5 stars because of the beginning and the end

Don't get me wrong, I loved this book! I think the characters were all likeable and entertaining. It lost stars for me because the book didn't really grab my attention until about 30-40% of it. The beginning was too wordy without anything significant happening. After the guys arrived, it got interesting and exciting! It lost another half a star as well because of that ending! I didn't like that Shera's reaction to her bondmate in iron bars and imprisoned for more than a week was "he stinks" and even go so far as taking a bath after holding him?? He's supposed to be a bondmate, isn't she supposed to feel what happened to him since it was mentioned they could feel each other through the bond. And hello??? If a part of a harem gets abducted, starved, and chained, won't they care about them first before ranting about how he smells?? 😩 I don't know y'all if this was reversed we'd be so mad at the harem 😩 but,,, besides what I mentioned, I loved it overall and I think I'll continue the series.

I absolutely loved the whole concept of the demons, fae and the world's we get to discover. I absolutely loved Shera and how she navigates her position within demon culture and her own succubus powers. The story is inclusive and well planned right from the start. It engages your imagination to explore and discover unique characteristics that Miles brings to the demon ideas. The characters were interesting and mysterious and I absolutely loved watching their personalities come out throughout the book. And that ending had me wishing for more of Shera and her men! The scenes were hot, the violence was perfect for the demon nature and the story flowed beautifully. Beautiful work and it's a book that will have you amazed at how different it is to other demon books. What a fantastic start to this hot, mysterious and phenomenal series.

Her retribution is an absolutely fabulous read. It pulls you in and keeps you in its grip until the very last word has passed your eyes.
This is a sassy, sexy, world with a superb strong leading character. I love the whole concept and take of demons, faeries and the mortal world. The story is written beautifully and world building excellent.
You can fully immerse yourself and find it plays in your mind like a movie.
Each character is well developed with complex personality, even the mean ones.
The reverse harem side is also fantastic. I love a good RH, and this doesnt disappoint.
I'm really excited for the next book and am patiently awaiting its arrival.

Warning, once you start reading you won’t be able to put this down
This book was great, so very well written. The detailed descriptions of the characters to the different worlds was just perfect. I just love Shera and and let’s just call them her ‘crew’ - don’t want to give away any spoilers...
This book has it all Fae, demons, Royals, succubus, vampires, jinni and more. The storyline kept me so intrigued as to what was going to happen next, and the references to Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and HGTV just made it so relatable.
And the ending, Devil below now I’m counting down the days for the next book.

Fae and demons
The book is about far and demons, an odd and unlikely combination. Shera is a luscious, beautiful, independent strong succubus. She does not hide who she is. She is supposed to be an evil demon, however she has a conscience. So, she only kills had people. I love the diverse harem that she has. Each one brings something different to the real and each one makes her more powerful. I found the beginning of the book to be a little slow. However, the background wss needed to understand her mindset and past experiences that made her into the demon she is. For instance, why she dislikes certain demons.

Brilliant read. Great start to the series.
Shera is one of the first creations of the creator, But not classed as Royalty. The Royals all special in their own right but have no respect for the correct order of things or true Hierarchy.
Shera a succubus is sick of the current ruling, of always being a moment from death needs to change the power of things. but new bonds and old lovers seem to be more of a distraction.
This is a brilliant read. cannot wait to get started on the next.

I will say that the first couple of chapters are a bit of a drag, but then after that it’s one thing after the next and does not slow down at all for the remaining of the book. Honestly could have made some of the scenes a little more elongated since it felt like we were flying through so quickly at points. I really liked the main character Shera though, love badass female roles that take charge.

If, like me, you love a kick-ass and sassy FMC, then you will love Shera. I felt the first few chapters were a bit slow (could be because I read them during a 2AM feed), but I quickly fell for Shera and her loyal and funny BFF Jasper. Like any RH worth its salt, Her Retribution has some sexy alpha males, with my personal favourite being Draven the Lord of Shadows. I look forward to see what happens next to my favourite succubus.

Team Sucky Sucky
Shera is fantastically funny! I enjoyed you humor and her friends. Once in awhile of like equal time to be doesn't on the people in her life. Why do I know more about Naomi then I do about Anakin and Micah? Why didn't she ask those two to keep an eye on Draven? Where is the Shadow Beast? I guess I need to keep reading to find out

Great Book
I really enjoyed this book. I loved how she just kept collecting men. She had no idea what to do with them. It’s fast paced. Fast burn as she’s a succubus. I wasn’t a huge fan of how fast she forgave Michah and Anakin when they showed back up in her life but the story worked in their favor. I can’t wait to read what’s next.

Underdeveloped!
Where's the action? Wasn't my cup of tea. Sentencing structure was good but the fmc was too self centred for me not my cup of tea. There could have been some amazing scenes in the book. For me it was lacking something, such a shame as it was well edited.

The story starts to really build with action and smoking hot heat about half way through, so if you like a fast paced story don’t give up because you reach the good stuff because the build up is very much worth it.

I really like how well-rounded our girl is. Even when she is p m s ing, she knows she is and adjusts.

So amazing! This is my first read by this author and certainly won't be my last. It was complex, dark, and Shera has all of the confidence I love seeing in my RH novels.
