Blake Karrington

Blake Karrington is more than an author. He’s a storyteller who places his readers in action-filled moments. It’s in these creative spaces that readers are allowed to get to know his complex characters as if they’re really alive.

Most of Blake’s titles are in the South in urban settings that are often overlooked by the mainstream. But through Blake’s eyes, readers quickly learn that places like Charlotte, NC can be as gritty as they come. It’s in these streets of this oft overlooked world where Blake portrays murderers and thieves alike as believable characters. Without judgement, he weaves humanizing backstories that serve up compelling reasons for why a drug dealer might choose a life of crime.

Readers of speak of the roller coaster ride of emotions that ensues from feeling anger at empathetic characters who always seem to do the wrong thing at the right to keep the story moving forward.

In terms of setting,Blake’s stories introduce his readers to spaces they may or may not be used to - streetscapes with unkept, cracked sidewalks where poverty prevails, times are depressed and people are broke and desperate. In Blake storytelling space, morality is so curved that rooting for bad guys to get away with murder can sometimes seem like the right thing for the reader to do - even when it’s not.

Readers who connect with Blake find him to be relatable. Likening him to a bad-boy gone good, they see a storyteller who writes as if he’s lived in world’s he generously shares, readily conveying his message that humanity is everywhere, especially in the unlikely, mean streets of cities like Charlotte.

twists turns dips & dives, this book is a roller coaster ride! This is not a romance book, it’s straight gangsta. Trust is a master mind. Gutta is gutter & untrustworthy. Zo is Trusts loyal protégé. The FBI agent was a cold piece & dirty to the core. There was a few parts that gave me the side eye, but still a pretty good read.

Action packed! Fast paced and action packed. To say that I really enjoyed this book would be an understatement. I didn’t know who or what to expect next. I went through many emotions reading this book because I just could not believe some of the things that were happening. Man, I cannot wait for book two. Definitely recommend this book for your reading pleasure. Great job Mr. Karrington.

Whew this was my first book I read by this author and I must say he has earned a new reader. Blake would put me in the mind of Kwan with his bloody pen. This book was full of action and plot twist. From page one it started with a bang. Can't wait to read part two.

This book was about more than Faith and Trust. It was also about their friends. Tust makes his money in the streets but Faith doesn't know the details. This story was adventurous, tense and sad at times. There was a good twist at the end. Can't wait to read part 2.

The Thrill of love!

Faith loved Trust, Erica loved her boo Zoo and Wanda was with Gutta. These bad boys treated their woman good but the consequences in dealing with them are tough! Gutta, Zoe and Gutta’s side hustle gets them caught up with the Feds and Russian family who will go through every hoop to get there precious diamonds back.
Sit back and ride as the toughest break down, become snitches and lives will be lost. Will it be worked it if behind bars or 6 feet under is the last result. Angela is a fed that falls for Gutta. Yet will she risk it all for this thug lovin? Philadelphia is turned upside down and the Russian hit women have arrived. It’s going down!!!!!! **Part 2*****

Definitely a rollercoaster!!

This started off fast pace, all gas no brakes!!! Trust got his stuff together and is not taking any shorts when it comes to his profession. Him and his crew knows exactly how things need to go so that everyone wins. The bond between Trust, Zoe and Gutta is crazy. They have there ups and downs but loyalty is there. But we all have that moment of weakness where it doesn't belong and it started and ended with Gutta. That ending was definitely a plot twist but I just keep wondering why she didn't leave?!?!

Really Good

Right out the gate you are caught up in this story. The writer gives us a story that you can just see happening before you. The writer pulls you in to story that reads like a television series. I love that we get a smart criminal, a loyal friend, who's mentored and showed the game, a true thug ,that learns in the end its all about love and loyalty. This was really good storytelling done so so well.

Diamonds Diamonds Diamonds

I haven't read a crime fiction story in a good while and I'm glad I picked out this one. I'm going to be reading book #2 next because I have to know what Trust, Gutta, Erica & Faith’s faith will be. Love the story. I hate what happened to Amy & Zoe. I actually cried. Bell will get what's coming to her, I'm sure of that. Diamonds, are truly a girls best friend... or death sentence!?!

Man all I can say is I didn’t know what I was getting into with this story! How can you hate and love every character in a book well Mr. Karrington has made it possible. These characters will make you hot with anger and cry in pain and sorrow on the next page. You definitely won’t be disappointed on to part 2to see who comes out this🤷🏽‍♀️

A lot!!!!

This novel had so much going on! It was like Trust, Gutta and Zoe did their dirt but always walked away untouched until that last bank heist then it all began to unravel! There was so much going on and it seemed like they kept running into more problems trying to get away. It was a pretty good read! Left with many questions. Angela Bell was a dirty heffa , she will get hers! Looking forward to the sequel!

So refreshing to read a hood story thats not about the mafia or drugs. This was about bank robbers and I loved it. Not sure why it is called Faith and Trust because the story isn't really about them. It's about Trust and his team of bank robbers. In some ways it reminded me of the male version of Set It Off. I can't wait to read part 2. I Need to know what happens to Gutta and Trust, as well as Faith and Erica. I hope that bytch Angela choke on a chicken wing and die. Backstabbing heffa.

Trust??

This is not my usual type of read but it was interesting and full of action. I chose it because it because it was a male author and wow. Trust is loyal to his crew but not faithful to his lady. Faith is in dark about who Trust really is. This well written with a few twists and turns to shake things up. Will check out more work from Karrington.

Decent book, I have to say in the beginning it was a little confusing due to how the characters was written. I found myself having to go back to make sure which characters it was. This book title should be diamonds are forever, it not really focused on Faith & Trust ( more on the character Trust). However, it was a really good read. I did enjoy and I’m actually looking forward to reading part 2.

Little Urban Gangsta Rascals

Foremost, why was this book so dang lengthy🤦🏾‍♀️⁉️ ”Faith and Trust: “An Urban Love Story” had lots of action but definitely not an urban romance (possibly urban lust 🤷🏾‍♀️)…was just a mediocre read. Unfortunately, there were entirely too many grammatical & typographical errors. Thereafter, I was more frustrated than intrigued or entertained with these characters/book because of the inconsistencies within the storyline. …greed contributed to these little urban gangsta rascals🤦🏾‍♀️‼️

Great read

This was definitely a page turner. I can’t believe gutta let a woman take him down the way he did. Only negative I have is that the title didn’t match the book....hopefully we hear more about faith n the second book.

The book was good but the title is a little misleading. The book didn't have very much to do with Faith & Trust but more about Trust and his crew. Again, the book was good and I can't wait to read book 2.
