A beautiful, dark, enthralling story. -International Bestselling and award winning author, Amelia Hutchins. He wanted me for my blood… Living on the run was all I’d ever known. My life was unstable, but at least I wasn’t alone. That all changed when my mother was murdered. I ran from the unknown creatures she’d always feared. Until the day I stopped being afraid. That was my first mistake. Cashel Blackthorne took me as his captive, but more than that, he opened my eyes to the terrible truth of the world. Vampires exist, and I am the key to their salvation. The Blackthorne vampires need my blood but their prince desires more—me. There’s something between us neither of us can deny. He is my captor, but I’ll be his ruin. “An entertaining and sensuous story that will leave you wanting more. Fans of True Blood will enjoy this vampire romance.” USA Today bestselling author Genevieve Jack This is the complete Blood Trilogy. It includes books 1-3 in the Blackthorne Vampires world (Blood Captive, Blood Traitor, Blood Heir), plus bonus material.
The Blood Trilogy by K. Loraine: Overall an entertaining series
****Blood Captive #1: A well written story, with tension and spice Cashel/Olivia: Cashel is torn, trying to follow his demented father’s edicts, but falling for Olivia. Olivia has special blood that is highly coveted by the vampire race, but is falling for the vampire Cash. So much standing between them, so much between them. Lies, danger, and treachery — A forbidden love story with consequences. Fast paced, with a slow build and relatable characters. Ends on a cliffhanger.
****Blood Traitor #2: overall good I skimmed much of this book because I got tired of Olivia’s love/hate for Cashel.... the last 25% of the book was good, but then it ended on a horrifying cliffhanger.
****Blood Heir #3: A twisty storyline with a nice HEA This story takes a hard turn, with the best of intentions and bad information. There’s things in this storyline that don’t really make sense to me, but that’s the case IRL too. Overall an entertaining series. —PTators
Love stories about vampires. This was so good. Loved Olivia and Cashel's characters. Well written. Filled with intrigue, conflict, yearning, and steam. Couldn't put it down. Keeps you in your seat. Can't wait to start reading the next one.
Blood Traitor:
"She got away from the Blackthorne vampires, but they still want her blood." Absolutely loved this. Well written, and well thought out plot. So many emotions. You really feel for the characters. Does have a cliffhanger, but so worth it.
Blood Heir:
"Cashel Blackthorne has been her kidnapper, her tormentor, her protecter, and her lover. Now he’s shattered them beyond repair." What a way to end this. I literally could not put this down. Such an emotional rollercoaster. Made me cry. Can't wait to read Lucas' story.
The book started off strong with a compelling, emotional scene between the main female character and her mother. The story rapidly progresses to said heroine being taken to Blackthorne manner against her will. She's kept prisoner, and quickly develops a lady-boner for her captor. For a number of reasons, the two aren't supposed to hook up, and spend a lot of time pining for one another, alternating with pushing each other away. The story and characters lack depth and plausibility. Not interested in reading more.
Oh boy this was kind of messy...LOL and bloody I was torn with completely absorbing the actions of the Blackthorne family and the reason "why" that the heroine "explained" to us is she acting upon her ordeal in such matter... well, I'll cut to the chase, if you can get pass the reasoning LOL than you will read it till the end...if you think it's silly, then everything else will feel just as redundant...but then again, then there would be no story to tell...
Overall, I enjoyed this trilogy. Olivia annoyed the crap out of me in the second book, and I didn’t like how Lucas got strung along. But, I finished this series quick and it kept me engaged and had a little steam.
Not bad overall. There are some places that I wish flowed better from one setting to another instead of jumping. I felt like I had missed something when it jumped.
This was my first vampire read. I. Loved. It. So. Much. Thank you, for writing complex characters and a phenomenal storyline. Two thumbs up. Now, to go on and grab the rest. #HugeFan
This was my first read from the author and I don't know why I didn't find her earlier. The plot, the characters and the writing were great. I was totally involved in the story. I forgot about the world around me and it was one of the best times spent reading.
