In a world where soulmates exist and people receive their soul bonds (a red string of fate, body exchange, timer tattoos...etc) when they turn 20.--- Wet dreams are not the norm for Amber. She should not be haunted by men she doesn't know, let alone the seven male pop stars from the world-famous boyband, IDOL. In a few days, Amber will receive a soul bond on her birthday, a one-way ticket into the arms of her soulmate. And it's definitely not a good idea to continue yearning for a group of men when she should be paying attention to her destined mate. But on the day of her birthday, Amber switches bodies with the idol on stage, and finds out that the members of the boyband are her soulmates. All seven of them.***LIMELIGHT is Book 1 of the My Soulmates are IDOLs Trilogy. It is an 180,000-word polyamory romance novel. This is a story of rejection, carnal desire, raw emotions, heartache, grief, drama, angst, sex and destined love. The story takes place in South Korea and contains multicultural themes.

I never imagined i would be reading a BTS fanfic. It wasn't explicitly stated but 👁 we all knew. First off, this book is really long, and I love that. The scenes were well detailed, I just wish that there were more developed descriptions of the scenes without the Idols in them. For example, I would have loved to know more about Ambrosia's college life. However, I kind of like the vagueness because it made the whole book more intense. Every moment was important.

The plot was fantastic. It's not my first time reading a soulbound reverse harem, even excluding paranormal shifters who have mates. This is the second reverse harem celebrities vs fan book I've read and I have to say this one tops the other one (I forgot the name), even though the other one was pretty well-written. The storyline was heart wrenching in a way even with (spoiler) no deaths; the author made me feel Ambrosia's emotions, and I cried my eyes out at the end. Even though there were 7 of them, they each had a distinct personality, even if Casper was hardly in the book.

Sidenote for the author if she ever reads this: Congratulations! You're only 19 and yet you have my made one of my top 15 favorites. You're so close in age to me, just 2 years, and I can tell that you're used to Wattpad. It's pretty clear in the way that you write that you're Gen Z, and even before I knew you're age, I was shocked since I had never seen this writing style on Kindle, only Wattpad. Since you do have experience with the dread of waiting for the next book release, would you mind keeping us updated with expected release dates? College is rough, and I'm not ready for it, I can only imagine professionally writing on top of it. As stressful as that is, I'd like to point out that this does pay you so.... it doesn't hurt. Now that I've written this extremely long ode to this book, thanka for reading it all the way through! I'll definitely be keeping up with you're work!

MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT:
Where do I even begin for this book? Maybe I should start by saying that this was completely out of my comfort zone. I have never read anything K-Pop related and I'm not a big fan of that in general so I didn't think I was going to like this book. I just had a friend recommend it to me and she was convinced that I would like it, so I gave it a shot. And I'm super glad I did because I LOVED this book.

This author does a fantastic job of grabbing your attention and keeping your interest. She's great at building tension and always has you sitting on the edge of your seat. I constantly found myself thinking about this book when I was away from it and I did not want to put it down for the life of me. I haven't been this ensnared by a book in a long time.

Amber- I spent the majority of this book just feeling bad for Amber. Her situation was so difficult and she was really put in a place where she had no choice but to make the wrong choice again and again. No one would listen to her and she was so alone. I really commend her for her strength and her will to get through this because I don't know if I would have been able to do it if I was in her shoes.

MinJae- I started out really loving MinJae but as the story went on, I just got so angry. I understand that he thought he lost his soul mate, but his actions towards Amber were just horrible. I wouldn't treat someone I hated that way and the fact that he didn't even know her and he was treating her like that just astounds me. At the end of the book, I didn't even feel bad for him because he is the entire reason that Amber is where she is right now. I really, really hope that he gets down on his knees and grovels during the next book.

JieMi- Look, I understand that he was young, but that gives him no excuse to act the way he did. I don't like him and I don't think there's anything that this author can do that will make me like him. His actions during this entire book were just despicable and I just don't see myself getting over it any time soon.

Ezra- My feelings on Ezra are mixed. I really liked the moments where him and Amber were alone, but by the end of the book he was really starting to make me upset. He turned on her so quickly and didn't give her a chance to explain herself at all. One of my least favorite things is when people are hurtful for no reason and I felt like he was that way towards her.

Sieon- Sieon just captured my heart. We spent so little time with him, but I loved how he interacted with Amber and I wanted more of their story together. I loved how he had faith in the bond with her from his dream and how he held on to that no matter what.

Hikaru, Oliver, & Casper- These three boys, I have absolutely no issue with. I loved how they fought for Amber and how they gave her the benefit of the doubt every time. They did nothing but try to be there for her and keep her feelings in mind. I so wish all the other boys could do that.

What I Didn’t Like- This was only a minor thing, but I’m not sure English is this author’s first language. Some words were used in the wrong context and there were multiple places where grammar was an issue. I also feel like this author couldn’t use a comma to save her life. It got a bit annoying at times. I think overall this book just needed another check through. There were mistakes that could have been easily corrected if the book would have just been read through one more time. There were also certain plot holes that easily could have been fixed. For instance, at one point in the book, Amber mentions that she had a fight with one of the guys (Ezra) the last time she saw him but they actually ended on pretty good terms the last time we saw them together. It's just something that could have easily been noticed and fixed.

Overall, I HIGHLY enjoyed this book. My emotions and heart are so invested in this story and I have no idea how I’m going to wait for the next one.

Loved but disappointed. Spoiler Alert

Spoiler spoiler spoiler

I really enjoyed this book and I won't lie I ugly cried a few times. But as I was reading there were a few times where I found myself very angry with the story. There was just too much "in your own head " of writing and not enough of the Characters actually talking. And lastly I feel as if the story is just unfinished. The way it ends just leaves me wanting more of this book to find out how the Relationships are mended. But the author left it with a whole story untold. So as much as I enjoyed this book I am just as disappointed in it. I think the author would be better off Continuing this book to finish the story of these characters instead of leaving them all heartbroken in the end.

Modern but still bit unrealistic story line but it was a decent start overall. I received an ARC copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was disappointing. I really liked the idea of the soul mates and the different types of soul bonds and how they work and manifest, but this was just a bit of a mess that was hard to get through..

I enjoyed the beginning, but as soon as the MC recognized her soulmates it all became a jumbled mess. There were so many characters with rapidly changing opinions and desires that I couldn't keep up. The author wants to develop each relationship from lust to love, but it just seemed like the guys wanted to fuck the MC or were instantly enamored with her. The MC was pretty annoying too, adding unnecessary drama and being inconsistent overall.

The story was much more interesting when the characters were separate and worrying about their own issues. One on one interactions before the whole soulmates thing were also fun to read. I see some people nitpicking the writing, but I didn't see anything overtly wrong or poorly done.

Very young writing style

This book for me feels like it is written by a 13 year old with a crush. On Amazon it was given 5 star ratings but I think those were from young teens following this author from Wattpad. Needs a really good edit and someone to help with the flow of the story... Has potential if the author gets help.

Wow this book blew me away and totally out off the water. Every page was filled with some crazy emotional twists, a few hot moments and plenty of confusion and heartbreak.
In this book we meet Amber who has always love the IDOLS in many different ways, and as it draws closer to her 20th birthday when her soul bond should appear. She starts having very steamy dreams of her IDOL men.
When her best friend gets her tickets to the concert on the day of her birthday, and she arrives at the hotel. She bumps into Sieon in the gents. From here we see her bump into three other IDOLS without her knowing who all feel a connection.
On concert day Oliver spots her in the warm up crowd and throws her is glasses. From here we see things get intense when a fan hassles her for them and then confronts her later after the concert to attack her and rip at her new soul bond, to tragic consequences.
With so many funny moments and plenty of sad moments the book ends on a sad but also good ending but leaves you needing more. Totally cant wait for the next book.

Reverse Harem, a must read
Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2020
First read this book on Wattpad then Patreon. Reading again to see what if any edits were made. So far loving the edits I’ve noticed they enhance an already gripping story. A story of finding your muse(s) is/are your soulmates. The female main character Amber is taken on a rough bumpy ride to finally be united with her soulmates. She feels she isn’t good enough for all of them. Will she ever discover that yes she is? That all they’ve ever dreamed of is someone just like her? Read and find out. Book 1 of a 2 part series. Love ya Emi 💜

Holy. Shit. I am absolutely obsessed with this book. I loved the idea of a soulmate AU, and then Emi Ree adds a K-Pop reverse harem to the mix? To die for. I really love how she took the time to introduce and involve all of the characters, as that can be hard with reverse harems with over four romantic interests. All of the guys had their own story and were equally lovable. The drama in the this book was off the charts. And honestly, I enjoyed the moments when Amber got back at some of the guys for hurting her. IE taking advantage of JieMi's bod and the stellar heart-and soul-wrenching ending. Let MinJae stew a little bit. Overall, an absolutely phenomenal book. CANNOT WAIT for book two!

This is a completely new kind of book, and I'm hooked. You will definitely need a box of tissues on hand. This book is so beautifully raw, you feel all of the character's emotions as if they're your own. The author is wonderful at creating a drama filled story reminiscent of K-dramas. I desperately want to read the sequel now. I recommend for mature readers, due to language and scenes of intimacy.

This book was a hot mess to begin with, but I stuck with it because it had some new and interesting concepts. I would stake a lot on English not being this authors first language. The ending could have been worked better as well. I'm not sure some of the characters are redeemable and the MFC was a complete doormat in the end. Despite all it's flaws, if you can push through the first 20% you might find yourself still reading at 3:am like I have.

So, I’ve never been a K-Pop/J-Pop girl, but this story makes me wish I was. There are so many emotions captured beautifully especially at the end and I really need the next one. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was because it has a very flowery writing style and I did find myself skimming those pages, but to be honest, that’s more my own problem and the style fits the culture. Does anyone have a clue when the next one is out because the cliffy here was just eeeevil!

What happens in a world where soulmates can be scientifically proven? What happens when you have multiple soulmates? What happens when your soulmate is in love with another? What happens when your soulmate rejects you, hates you?

This is beautifully written!
