Day One

Rate this book
Some of us will not be returning home. This is a one-way trip to nowhere. A kamikaze mission for the brave and stout of heart. And the chance of a lifetime for an explorer like me. In my last email, I encouraged the team to make sure their affairs were in order. See to their wills and appoint a power of attorney. I suggested they hug their parents and kiss their offspring. I told them to call up their favorite lover if it isn’t their spouse and do the kinky shit that they always wanted to do but were too respectful to ask for. Fuck like the world is ending because for most of them, it would be the last time. I took my own advice and watched my favorite porno with my favorite vibrator set to hysterectomy. The song, ‘Highway to Hell’, comes to mind. It would be fitting if we had traveled by highway. I haven’t seen a highway in weeks. Nor am I quite certain we will find any when we get to where we are going. It could quite literally be hell. No one has survived the journey both ways to give us any facts. No, my team is not traveling by any highway. We came by air and are now hovering across three thousand miles of frozen tundra in a craft that I designed and built myself. Civilians will ask why a brilliant, world-renowned scientist would sign up for a suicide mission. Why would someone with such promise volunteer to die? Those who know me wished me well and hugged me goodbye. This isn’t a suicide mission for me. I am embarking on my greatest adventure. What’s more, I have no intentions of dying. It will take more than a lost world to put me down. This what I do. This is who I am. My name doesn’t ring bells, it is the bell. Every time you hear one ringing, someone is singing my praises.

I'm a true Janjan Fan. Been loving her since I read my first book from her "The View From The Bottom"
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KSERILG/ref.

This is a Different Janjan then I'm used too. But in loving it just the same.

This Masterpiece she has written, blew me out of left field.

Eve is a Brilliant scientist, with a "I DON'T GIVE TWO YOU KNOW WHAT" I loved this about her.

But when her Cray unhinged Dad sent her and her counterparts to explore The Northpole, my respect changed a bit. Evee changed. She started to second guess herself and in that World she was in, you couldn't blink without something happening. She needed all her wits about her.

In step my main Man“Kiah Bisi", Pronounced "Kye Beesie".

The love he had for her went beyond time. I want a love like that. Kye was Evee calming Essence, and her protector.

He brought peace and love to Evve, who wanted her Father's approval. I'm glad he got what he deserved. And that Evve found within herself to be just her, with the love like no other.

They way Mrs Janjan described the landscape and the other beings and animal's, I thought I was actually there.

I'm in awe as always when you read from an Extraordinary Author such Janjan.

Can't wait to see what she brings next. Congratulations Si

Good Read!

The story was more like the Journey To The Center Of The Earth the fantasy and imagination was fantastic. The details of the jungle were so realistic, the girl had to grow on me because she was strong one minute and whiny the next. The way it ended it may be another book. I loved the male character he didn't take any s**t when it came to his woman.

Not for me, DNF

Full disclosure I did not finish. This really wasn't for me but you might enjoy it if you like smart/tough women that go gaga for their man and uber alpha non human men in a non earth environment.
There's a tonne of spice but it's a bit blah after a while. There's a lot of betrayal and drama up to where I read at around 30%.
I just found it too slow paced and the writing style was exhausting with the endless short sentences. The FMC is just super self obsessed it was tiring and the MMC doesn't have much going for him beside being the manliest man to ever man.

Avatar of inner earth?

Day one is the black version of avatar maybe. Dr. Eveelee Ward Is sent on a mission to find her brother and other team members for the professor a.k.a. her father. Evee starts off as a Rambo type. She’s very smart, she thinks quick and fast, and at some point I thought she might have been a Navy seal. She gets into another world sort of and people start to die. And then somehow she meets the man of her dreams.

This book reminded me of avatar especially the description of the world. Colorful forest, interesting creatures, weird food, and the natives to some are sexy and the others who are not so sexy but you learn more about the sexier ones. And a lot of the premise is the same, humans were trying to take over a world because the earth is dying & they need to get the natives on their side. I really hate first person books because you don’t often know what the other characters are thinking. There were some confusing moments in the book because you can’t decipher whom was speaking for whom. There was one moment in the book where the two main characters were in their house speaking and then all of a sudden another guy shows up. Somehow somebody was having sex and then a fight broke out. I don’t know who the other guy was I don’t even know if he was one of the natives. He just shows up causes a little trouble and then he’s out.

Evee Who was written as bad ass scientist seemed a little weird when she first laid her eyes on Kiah Bisi. She seems very alpha female strong and doesn’t take any shit but with him she kind of just turns into a romantic sap. There’s some other things about the book they just seem weird or maybe there’s a follow up or maybe a story within a story. Like her best friend Cherine, I sort of want to know what happens to her and do they not care for their friendship to survive.Kiah Was just to human not what I expected of him considering his upbringing in his current lifestyle. He still kind of a mystery and it was hard to imagine what he was supposed to look like especially with the description of the other people in the book. Overall it’s a great long read

Freaking Fantastic!‼️

This story was awesome and unique. I went on a negative rave while giving this author of five on one of her books for her usual endings. I would give her a 10 for this book for her most unique story and different ending. I hate leaving reviews. I can't tell you what to read I can't tell you if you're going to like it. I just know that I love it it was well written. It was unique and interesting. And, as with all her books, I stayed up all night to read it. I'm actually going to go to sleep now and read One of the last two books of his author that I have not read. This is the first author in a long time where I sat back to back to back since last week to make sure I read each and every one of her publish books. I would give up my life on earth to go live with this man in the book. Also as indicated by the pseudo epilogue there better be a continuation of this series 😁

Help Me

You know this is the one of the first book I read by JanJan and I fell in love with all her books. When Kia’s said that he would trade his eye sight to her her say I love you always does that mean he can’t hear? But there so many in the book that show they are connected and that he can hear her right? Or was that him saying that he can’t hear that enough. They had a struggle especially with Cherine trying to get between them. What did she say to him that made Kia’s hate her so much. Did she really want him for her own? Did she slander Evee name to him? To understand that everyone was part of the plan but Evee? To be in the middle of a snake pit and realize that one of the snake fell in love with you and that’s how you end up being saved. Not just some superficial love either but some ride and die owing do anything die you love. Man I love this book.

This book was amazing

Journey to the Center of the Earth meets Indiana Jones meets Tarzan with plenty of fantasy and an epic romance. This book was amazing. This was a new concept and not a formulaic romance; that alone gives it high marks. However it is a great story, and a great romance with plenty of drama, intrigue, a bit of fantasy, and love. Great characters and a full story that didn't end once the couple got together. This book is as much about the story as the romance. I liked the subtle lessons on eating clean and environmental protection. Just a darn good read and highly recommended for fantasy fans, romance readers, all kinds of bookworms.

Man oh man 😭 I loved this just as much as I loved most of JanJan's other novels. Kiah is strength with kindness and understanding while Even was strength with an iron fist. When you think if "opposites attract", they should be the couple you imagine. That being said, it worked for them and I loved it. I always enjoy reading stories where a strong female discovers strength in vulnerability, especially through love!

The entire time I felt like I was waiting for the other foot to drop/something horrible to happen, but even then I was like, "this is amazing."

Also, it was nice seeing Antonov; that was a cute little cross over!

WTH Did I Just Read!

I loved it! LOL The imagination this author has is amazing. You are a story teller with an incredible imagination. I hate writing reviews but I had to leave my thoughts. I am an Advil reader, romance being my favorite genre and I have read just about every genre. I can honestly say I don’t know what to call this one. Sci-fi, paranormal or romance. This was a well thought out put together story that had me burning dinner because I could not put it down. I’m still confuse as to what Evee really is but nonetheless this was hands down a good read. Starts out slow but heats up quickly and keeps you interested.

Disappointed

Was really hyped to read this. Could not pass up a sci-fi adventure- romance. A hot, sexy humanoid, a beautiful, intellectual scientist was a match made in novel heaven. The premise exciting, the execution not so much. The balance between romance and sci-fi just wasn't enough for me. When Eve met Kian, let's just say she lost her mind and got off mission. I can't believe I'm saying this, but there was too much sex in this story, and it made it longer than necessary. This was the first book I read by this author. I'm not sure if I will read any others.

Wow! My sister Anita introduced me to Jan Jan Untamed and Day One. I sincerely thank her. This sorry is as unconventional as a pink elephant sitting in a restaurant, but I couldn’t put it down. Dr. Everlee Ward and Kiah Bisi are like gasoline and a blow torch. They burned brightly and then explode.
I don’t want to give anything away but in a world within a world love blows through like a hurricane. My sister told me she needed a Kiah Bisi in her life and now I know why.

Very Interesting...

I really enjoyed this book and my favorite character was Gray as he kind of reminded me of an android Sheldon Cooper from the Big Bang Theory. I wonder if Eden will have her own story told or if what happens after Gavin entered their lives, it will remain a mystery.

My my my

Ok so I was a little intimidated by this author, which is why I took so long to actually read one of her books. When they say her books are not for the faint of heart they meant that. This book was fire through and through I’m about to go read out her books now. Sidenote eve work my nerves a whole lot but not as much as our crazy daddy. And that friend of hers Shiesty.

Listen....when the husband met the fiancé...I died. Hilarious!

I thoroughly enjoyed this smexy book. It had me feeling some kind of way with all the unfiltered love they doused on each other. Plus, it was an alien romance, which I hadn't really enjoyed until now. The ending was surprising and had me wanting to dive into the next drama.

Ha....Wow

Evie and Kish what a love story. A twisty, then sideways action adventure. You had to keep reading just to see what happens next. Which means I was more vested in the story instead of the sexy scenes. Good mix of syfy, myths and adventure. Waiting for next book.

I didn’t want this story to end too fast, so I took my time reading it. This was truly a different type of paranormal! Loved Evee and Kiah’s story. I hope we get to see more of Eden and Gavin!! Also, I’d like to see a family tree!

good read

I’d like to think there is life beyond what we know and this definitely satisfies that need. I wish there was another part where we find out where Eden ends up and the same with her best friend

Lovely Romance

This was a great story and it almost services a a second book to the Butcher of Beaumont, especially with the reappearance and mentioning of Erikson. I was pleasantly surprised that our leading lady was a 40+ woman, which I absolutely loved! It took her some time to make the right decision, which I am glad she did, because if I was her, I would have no problems saying planet Earth is for the birds. Lastly, the book starts out a little slow, but it picks up after the first 5-6 chapters. I look forward to reading more by JanJan!
