Jake Walker: Texas Ranger: Revolt

Rate this book
The exciting third Western adventure from D.M. Haggard!

This is a work of fiction, but based on real events from Texas history. The time period of this action adventure is in the late 1870s. For the first time, Jake Walker, Texas Ranger is introduced to a similar organization to the Rangers. These groups of Mexican lawmen known as “Los Rurales” were founded by President Benito Juarez under the same guidelines as the Texas Rangers. Not many of their targets ever escape justice. Jake Walker is asked by the governor of Texas to investigate Los Rurales, but also to intercede in an uprising by local citizens of both Texas and Mexico in the small town of San Elizario, Texas. The fighting is vicious and deadly to both Texas Rangers and local citizens.

The end of this story is climaxed by the intervention of Jake and other Texas Rangers during one of the saddest times in Texas Ranger history. If the reader enjoys tantalizing Texas Ranger action, coupled with an enormous collection of interesting characters, this is your book to read. Grab your copy today!

D. M. Haggard, aka D. M. Horridge, was born in Texas, raised on cactus, dust, and a strong family. When I was very young, I would visit my uncle's farm in San Antonio and work side by side with my seven cousins baling hay, swimming in a round cow trough, and hunting rattlesnakes. I've hunted and fished all over the United States, and have worked like a trojan on my own ranch in Texas. I've written short stories and professional articles for a variety of marketing and professional magazines, but only recently started writing western adventure stories. I like learning about the real characters of western history and use them in a fictional way. I feel like I am preserving their memory and the heritage they left for us over time. I have been blessed with a wonderful wife of 55 years, two terrific children, and a million friends. I try to leave a message in every book that says to the reader, "we are all part of this world of ours and we need to work together to keep it from falling apart." My family is the most important part of my life. I have also been blessed with four fabulous grandchildren and two spouses of our children who have brought a wonderful depth to our family and extended family. One of my favorite subjects is the Texas Rangers, a group of tough, honorable, and law-abiding men and women. Only recently I have begun a series of children's books named "The Amazing Adventures of Two Boys." They represent many of the stories my father told to my brother and me as children. Always exciting, but not frightening, they give me great pleasure to write and publish on Amazon under my father's name, Don Horridge, and my name D. M. Horridge. All of the proceeds from these children's books are donated to children's ministries throughout the world. Thanks for listening.

Walker

The tales of the Texas Rangers is one of great bravery in bringing Texas to a state of law However, as in history many questionable circumstances occurred but none of these would sully the quest of the Texas Rangers to bring law and order we have today
