Denial and isolation…International businessman, Roark Donovan has just suffered the greatest loss of his life. After years of being the leader of his family, he had to walk away from them and his business while grappling with the circumstances surrounding his mother’s death. Returning to the English countryside was supposed to be therapeutic and restful. It wasn’t meant to open his heart to love again…or lead to clues about his mother’s murderer.

Acceptance…Tamika Rayder has reached the stage in the grieving process where she’s supposed to accept what happened and move on, but there are still too many questions to be answered about her father’s death in a five-alarm fire. As an arson investigator, she’s the best person to pursue the case, except that with every clue she uncovers, her mother slips deeper into depression and Tamika fears she will lose her next. Roark Donovan is charming and attentive and the blistering passion that immediately erupts between them is the stuff that dreams are made of, but Tamika isn’t used to dreaming of happiness. And when the past comes back to haunt them, Roark and Tamika must prepare themselves for the deadly inferno that threatens to consume them all.

Very suspenseful. Roark seems jaded and suspectful of everyone. He is a loner even with his sister and brother. Although he seems distant from his siblings, he is quick to protect them.
Roark wants to get to the bottom of his mother's death in England and Tamika wants to get to the bottom of her father's death in the US. Their two worlds meet up. Roark finds a need to protect tamika and her mother just as his siblings. Tamika's mother has the clue that ties the two families.
After all the mysterious death by fire, when the one person responsible is no longer there to continue the killing, it is surprising as to who the person his that carries on the feat.
Keeps you guessin.

Roark

I love the Donovan family. Roark and Tamika had great chemistry. As they fought to find truths about the past and present deaths and fires surrounding their families they found someone to lean on. They may have thought the relationship was only going to last for a minute but they ended up finding so much more. I loved these two together and the attraction was definitely instant. Can't wait to read about Ridge and Suri.

Roark: The Donovan Dynasty Book #2

Great storyline. Interesting characters throughout the book. Happy to see Roark found real 💘 with Tamika. The suspense was electrifying because the seven college friends keep their secret for over fourty years. And finding out who done it was shocking. I never would have thought that person was responsible for so many deaths by burning folks alive.

Loved It!

Yes, yes, yes! Mrs. A.C. you threw me for a loop, I didn't see that twisted end coming. I thought Dane was going to be my favorite Donovan man, but Roark, good God from Zion, that's the one for me. That take charge type, the planner, the never mince words type, who will make love with his eyes and make your body react. Tamika finally got it and got Roark. They both reached out for each other to begin their FOREVERMORE. I loved it!

In book 2 of the Donovan Dynasty series, Roark Donovan is dealing with his
Mother, Maxine Donovan’s untimely death. In the midst of this he has a
mysterious visitor to Dynasty manor, his families B & B. Tamika Rayder is
visiting her Mother in England, where she has been since Tamika’s father,
Lemuel Rayder passed away. There seems to be a connection between Maxine
Donovan and Lemuel Rayder. Tamika is determined to figure it out and she
needs Roark’s help, but is he willing to come to her aide?

Tamika thought Roark was jerk, albeit a very sexy, good looking one, when
they first met. From Roark’s standpoint he is trying to figure out Tamika’s
angle, while at the same time trying not to react to what his body is telling him. There’s nothing more appealing than a confident man who takes immediate action. Roark takes charge when Tamika needs it most and makes sure she’s comfortable. The physical attraction is strong and I enjoyed
how their interest for each other plays out. Ms. Arthur’s development of story is also in line with the romantic suspense theme.

Roark is the second installment in the Donovan Dynasty and it was an enjoyable read. Roark Donovan is the next Donovan to be struck by cupid's bow, while trying to uncover who person responsible for a death in the family. He was not expecting Tamika Rayder nor the drama she brings to his doorstep. Once they compare notes and past events come back, they must find a resolution that will impact their attraction.

Mrs. Arthur does a good job with character development and portraying Roark as a strong alpha male that has a difficult time expressing emotions. Tamika is a take charge female and is determine to make it on own her without the assistance of any male. Both want answers to behind the deaths of their parent while they fight the growing attraction between them.

Good intriguing read.

I’ve been waiting for another Donovan story.... The suspense was true to the AC Arthur form. I had no clue who was behind it or who they where connected to. The suspense was on point. I was disappointed with the passion, this story was lacking and nothing like previous stories penned by Ms Arthur. The intimate scenes were like after thoughts. Rushed and lacking detail and fire. What was the point of Katrina???? She wasn’t worth the words wasted on her. Hopefully Ridge and Siri’s stories will apologize in the passion area.

Just when I thought I couldn’t love those DONOVANS anymore Roark happens in the best way possible. This sexy mysterious romantic thriller brought all the elements once expects from a Donovan’s story. The final plot twist caught me by surprise but I enjoyed it and every moment leading up to it. Two books into the #DonovanDynasty and I’m already looking for book 3. #LongLiveTheDonovans

I was so ready for Roark's story and I was not disappointed. Despite grieving the tragic deaths of their parents and dealing with their individual issues, Roark Donovan and Tamika Rayder were able to find healing in each other. The suspense surrounding their parents death and the current problems their families are facing draws you in. This is definitely a page turner.
I recommend this book.

Paraphrasing Deuteronomy 24:16; "children shall not pay for the sins of parents, parents shall not pay for the sins of their children."Roark Donovan and Tamika learned this lesson the hard way. The plot twist was phenomenal, keeping me turning the pages. Loved Aunt Birdie, enjoyed revising other Donovan family members.
