Just when life seems to be settling in, a new enemy appears—the government of the State of California. With a mandatory gun buyback in place, citizens are at the mercy of State Security Officers.
Derrick, Matt, Jessica and the rest of their group grapple with how to deal with this new threat while trying to survive day to day.
Will they find a way to fight back against a rogue government, or will their very lives be at stake?
Christine loves to read, but also loves to write suspenseful stories. She enjoys camping and hiking with her family and watching movies. Check out her website: christinekersey.com
Repetitive and predictable. Was hoping for better. Very simplistic and character development was awful, saccharine sappy with no moral values. Don't waste your time.
Great series, really enjoyed the read. The family just keeps getting bigger. Jessica is one of those women who gets on my nerves. Quit with the questions already.
This presents an interesting dilemma. On one hand, I read all four books while on vacation often not falling asleep till 3-4 in the morning. On the other hand, I don’t think these are books I will ever read again. The subject matter was intriguing because of our current pandemic. How they dealt with the challenges was almost educational and left a lasting impression. The books move quickly yet are descriptive enough for world building and character development. This is not a romance novel. It is an adventure with a family facing challenges around them and within them. There were no swear words till the last book and only a couple mild ones. It is clean and only hints at sexual abuse while in captivity. The last book was a bit more violent and the only reason to give it a possible PG rating besides the frightening topic of living in an apocalyptic world. My “come away” was that I would really like to own an RV with large capacity gas and water tanks, solar power, Guns, water purifier and tons of good neighbors with possible military training! The hardest thing to believe was that they started in Utah and left for California and greener pastures. They came across trouble everywhere they went and should have stayed and dealt with the troubles in their own backyard. Plus... I think Utah will have more good neighbors that are prepared per square yard than any other state. Just saying... have you met the Mormons?
This has been a really good series overall. This book was a bit on the short side, but I like how the characters worked on solutions and held their own against the bad guys. The resolution to the evil governor was satisfying though a little hurried. I did feel like that very last chapter made it all feel rushed and like it had to have a pretty bow to end it all. Still, I enjoyed this series a lot.
I give this book and the other 3 books in this series 5 stars. The story was well written, very suspenseful and I enjoyed it immensely. I couldn't put this book down. Every page kept my attention. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to get into a book about a pandemic being what's going on today in regards to that. I was concerned it would up my anxiety. But it didn't do that at all. It made me forget what's going on . it actually took my mind off it and instead, gave me a book I really enjoyed reading. I am looking forward to reading more of Christine's other books!
I consumed this 4 part series in a day! So riveting I couldn’t put it down... the Apocalyptic aftermath of a pandemic hit very close to the mark. My worst fears over the last 15 months came to fruition in this series. Making one ponder what would they do in. These life and death, them or us scenarios. So glad Derrick protects, leads and survives to find love amongst the aftermath.
I enjoyed reading all of this series. It was a very real relief to read books that never stunned me with curse words, and showed me that it could be done - and without extreme sex scenes. Thank you, Christine Kersey! Keep writing! And the books were well written, intriguing!
I really liked the whole Pandemic series. The stories are fast paced and the characters are very like able. I took off a half star for the simple fact realistically at least someone in their group should have died or at least been hurt worse. It was just a little too HEA, but maybe we need a little more HEA.
When government thugs start stealing and killing, the group finds themselves in harms way. These characters are string and loyal to their friends and won't back down. I loved this series. Great story and wonderful characters. I need to see what else this author has on offer. She's good.
Great read. I was enthralled from the beginning. It's hard to believe people can be so very evil. We though have first-hand knowledge on how power can corrupt. Don't we? Recent years have shown that if you give a fool control, bad things can happen.
What a good series very enjoyable all 4 books kept me interested, mine were audible and the narrator was very good and thanks the lovely author all 4 were free which doesn’t happen very often so thank you Christine Kersey. An apocalypse story with not a walking dead in sight, just something that could really happen.
I’m absolutely gutted that I’ve just finished the last book in the Pandemic series Insurrection and I loved it, it was amazing. The characters were brilliant the good and bad and I’m a sucker for a wee bit of romance as long as it’s not overdone. Good on you Derrick and Paisley and wee Serena. I totally recommend the Pandemic series.
The fourth and final episode of the Pandemic series, in which the group finds themselves fighting the CA government. The governor is corrupt, of course, and when Derrick finds himself kidnapped for some reason, his friends need to come and save him.
A phenomenal end to this timely trilogy. I loved it! It was an edge of your seat gripping and hold on tight. My favorite was the end where even in a pandemic the constitution can be upheld by good citizens. Loved it!
I gave this book 4*s because I don't think the use of swearing is necessary to get a point across . Really liked the characters, story line, suspense , humor and it's clean . I will read more by this author .
I read all four of these books in just a few days. After finishing one I immediately purchased and read the Ext one. They were well written, the characters were believable and the suspense was great. I can’t wait to read more of her books!
Another great book by Christine Kersey. I loved this book and all the characters in this series. I can’t wait to read next book by Christine regarding post-apocalyptic books. I would recommend this book and all Christine’s books.
Absolutely could not stop so binge read the entire series! Be sure to read them in order. You won't be disappointed! This writer has a fantastic imagination and ability to put it into her writing.
This whole series was such a disappointment. Atrocious dialogue made up most of each book, and the rest read like it was written by an 8th grader. The subjects were shallow and hard to relate to. Jessica was just whiny. But it filled the time while I was sick and didn't have the focus to read.
Another great read . With a happy ending. Christine Kersey is an exhalent author. I've really enjoyed all four of the book in this series. I will be checking out her other books.
If you like your fiction clean and wholesome than this book is for you. It was a little too unrealistic for me but the writing was decent so I gave it 4 stars instead of the 3 I thought about.
I loved this series! I loved how they came together and everyone became essential! It was awesome to read about people saving themselves and not just relying on those more experienced to do everything!
I really enjoyed reading the series, the characters in these books worked well together and had each other's backs in their time of crisis, exciting read, couldn't put these books down until I got to the end will definitely recommend these books to friends and family.
Wow, fantastic, having dealt with as many bad gangs as they had, the biggest one was showing its face, in the name of the government, but it wasn’t right. How will our family of friends prevail. Read on.
