Discovering Home: A Wholesome Contemporary Romance About Small Town Life and Unexpected Love

Rate this book
Rediscover two classic romantic stories about finding love and creating family, only from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber.

Father’s Day

Single mom Robin Masterson’s ten-year-old son, Jeff, thinks he needs a dog more than anything in the world. And there just happens to be one right next door! But the friendly black Lab belongs to Cole Camden, the unfriendliest man in the neighborhood. Robin can understand why Cole’s solitary life has made him cold—her own much-loved husband died when Jeff was just a baby. Still, Jeff persists…and soon his mom and Cole are looking at each other in a whole new way.

Lone Star Baby

Wade McMillen might be a minister, but he’s also a man. An unmarried and very attractive one. Is it as a man that he responds to the lovely young woman who shows up in Promise, pregnant and alone? Or as a man of God? Maybe it’s both. Amy Thornton hopes to make a new life for herself and her baby, and to do that, she needs Reverend McMillen’s help, his compassion. What she wants is the love of a man named Wade…

It's nice having two books in one volume like this--no need to close the ebook file and open a new one :)

I'll just keep this short.

I LOVED Father's Day--it truly was something different and special. I found Lone Star Baby not as enjoyable, almost a little too cheesy (sorry!). But the characters were wonderful.

Definitely two stories to enjoy if you haven't read them yet.

Love, Trust, Home

These two stories are beautiful and fun. The author has a way of writing heartwarming stories, and Discovering Home is no exception. Because I have read many Debbie Macomber novels, I am spoiled. I am use to fuller character development and plots that take more time to resolve. Still, I thoroughly enjoyed escaping into these love stories.

Two great hallmark type stories. First one a widow moves to a new home and spends the first night sleeping in a tent with her ten year old som. They wake up with a black lab sleeping between them and a neighbor angrily looking for his dog. The second story is a 6 month pregnant girl hops off the bus at the last second in a town called Promise Texas.

Not her usual

Both stories were subpar for this author. Very slow moving, too predictable. But on a more positive note, Ms Macomber always elicits a feel good

Maybe it was accurate in describing what preteen boys are like, but good grief the 10-year-old son in this was annoying AF.
