Richard Fierce is a fantasy author with a passion for storytelling that dates back to his childhood. He first ventured into publishing in 2007 and hasn’t looked back since. His books are filled with dragons, adventure, and the kind of epic journeys that transport readers to new worlds.

In 2000, Richard was named Poet of the Year for his poem The Darkness, and his love for literature extends beyond just writing—he co-founded the Acworth Book Festival in Georgia to help bring authors and readers together. Though he originally worked in retail, he eventually transitioned to the tech industry, balancing his career with his writing.

Richard lives in Northwest Georgia with his family and a lively mix of pets, including four dogs (huskies!). He often jokes that his house feels like a zoo, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Eldwin and his friends go on a quest to see of he can bring his father back to the land of the living and meet more strange characters. There is another series of trials and many of them have to make tremendous sacrifices.

I really liked how Eldwin's dragon was able to take on human form. I think it is often the other way around in stories. I disliked that Eldwin doesn't seem to be growing older or wiser. He strikes me as a whiny kid who lets other people make difficult decisions so he doesn't have to. Hope he grows up soon, so he can be the hero the story needs. I like how the story meanders and builds rather than all being focused on a single evil that needs to be vanquished. I like seeing Eldwin amd Marin growing up rather than always having to save the day. I disliked the pacing. It felt like some parts of the story moved too slowly and other parts leapt into action so quickly that I had to go back because I missed how they had gotten there.

I like when authors use seeds they planted in early books. It makes these books afterward better and has more meaning. The Coin of Souls is a much more personal story. With one death of a dragon in the third book and a father that our MC meant once in the second book, trying to save once more is excellent. We didn't need and end all be all boss; we just needed something nice and personal to the characters. Though my complaints about the land of Osnen and how little we know about the Dragon Riders still stand, I enjoyed this much better. Also, the island filled with ghosts was a lot of fun. And those trails were a treat and way better than the first book trails. I actually felt the stakes in this book, and it was far better than those in the previous trilogy.
I still feel nothing towards the dragon that died because of the little we spent with it. However, that ending makes the next book sound like a lot of fun, and I look forward to what happens next.

I'm loving this series, Eldwin has just discovered that his father might be alive after all this time, he and his friends travel to the Island of Lost Souls, hoping to find his father on his new quest, he will uncover lots of new secrets and Ghosts of his past, delve into new dangers, a quest that may cost him everything, in this book Eldwin's dragon Sion transforms into a human, very interesting as its usually the other way round, lots of new characters, fast paced and a fun story with plenty of action to keep you hooked and continue with this series, the narrator Andrew McDermot just gets better with his arrange of voices, highly recommend...🐲🐉⚔😁

Hugely disappointing after the first 3 installments. This book was utter garbage. The only thing worse than the concept of the story was the end of the story. I can't even think of a redeeming portion of the book. Make dragons into humans, bring dead souls back, blah blah blah. I am done with this series at this point. My advice is to stop reading this after book 3 and enjoy the story up to that point as the rest is vastly disappointing.

Perfect for fans of Eragon.

Pretty sure I’ve said that about this series before, but it’s true. This book was a lot more serious and emotional than the others. Huge cliffhanger at the end and I can’t wait to read more.

Eldwin and Maren go to The Island of Lost Souls to see if his father is there. Eldwin will have to encounter some trials, but all won't be easy. He will have to make some tough choices and will encounter heartbreak. Maren is hoping to find her dragon's soul, but things don't go the way it was supposed to. Some intense moments and a real page-turner.
