About the author

Octavia Grant discovered her passion for creative writing in 2002 during her junior year at Georgetown High School in Georgetown, South Carolina. She began writing professionally in 2016 and, two years later, took full ownership of her literary career by becoming an independent author. A bestselling black thriller author and the bestselling author of Cutthroat, Octavia has penned more than 30 novels known for their psychological depth and gripping suspense.

Nikera’s theme song must’ve been 21 Savage’s “A Lot” because what was her body count?! 🗣️A LOT! How many people did she screw over?! 🗣️A LOT! How many marriages did she ruin?! 🗣️A LOT! How many trains did she let men run on her?! 🗣️A LOT!! How many STDs did she treat 🗣️A LOT!! 😩😩😩 lawd Nikki was in a whole relationship but after she saw how many men were ready to risk it all for the kitty she said fk love get peen!….. 250+ for your body count is insane for a man or a woman 😵‍💫….. in the words of Sexyy Red “let that coochie breathe” 😩😩

Nikki was waking up in beds with no recollection of how she got there. Nikki was being approached by men on the street with no recollection of who they were…. Lawd when karma showed up for Nikki, she showed out!!

Octavia made sure this book was good and messy and Nikki better be glad she at least walked away with her life playing with peoples relationships 🤯😳🫠🥴

- I feel like I’ll need to pick up a book by this author each month because her books feel like I’m watching reality tv and are unhinged like no other books I pick up!
- Wasn’t the biggest fan of how spicy this book was and it definitely took over most of the story unlike some of the other books I’ve read of hers.
- I was so surprised by the ending! Didn’t see it coming at all and I love endings like that!

Octavia ma'am you always make sure these selfish heauxs get their karma.

Nikki was living her best life doing anything moving, to the point she couldn't even recall whom she had slept with. She refused to commit because she knew men were weak and easy. However, her lack of concern for diseases or the marriages or relationships of the people she was involved with left her with a check her azz was unable to cash. 

Octavia always has the best plot twists.

Miss Nikki was a free spirit per se. 👀 Just spreading herself around to any man who was willing to give her the D! She ain’t give a damn about relationship status, it was all about her getting what she wanted, and kept it pushin’. Well, you betta get it while the getting is good, cause all good things come to an end. Her karma came with a fury and scared her straight! Was not expecting that outcome, but what do you expect when you’ve wronged so many people. Savage! 🤯

nikki girl wtf. why you sleeping with everybody man’s like that?? then she was proud about it, had NO shame in her game. a self-proclaimed “whore” (her words not mines) like where’s the decorum? 😩😩

for this book to be so short it definitely had me interested to see what would happen from the first page. i feel like it’s definitely hard to keep a book intriguing and still deliver a beginning, middle, and end the proper way. but octavia definitely did a good job with that part.

the little shocking reveal at the end definitely wasn’t expected at all. but the fact that nikki was sleeping with so many men she couldn’t even remember their names or faces is insane. then without protection, spreading diseases and stuff. she definitely needed a chastity belt and a therapist. 🫢

if you’re looking for a really quick and faced paced “wtf is wrong with you” book filled with drama give this a read. it’ll take less than 2 hours of your time and keep you interested.

I've had to sit & think about a review for this book. First off I'm not gonna lie i did enjoy the story but i feel like this was kind of weird as well. You mean to tell me a woman slept with so many people that she couldn't at least remember their faces? Or the fact that she slept with their father? I don't believe that one bit. And the ending threw me all the way off. I also would've liked a backstory on Nikki. Like what made her this way? You know. It was cool but i still felt like this story was unrealistic. Also felt like this book was to shame promiscuous women because in real life promiscuous women do not move dirty like Nikki. Idk

I don't know how to feel about this book LMFAO. Nikki put the H in HO! 250+ men, you don't recognize their faces, or the fact that you slept with their daddies? Sick lady 😂 I don't understand how she didn't infect anyone else, & how she couldn't seem to remember that her current man was a man from the past.. that's a little crazy. I do feel like this story was a bit unrealistic, but it's really women out here with that type of mindset "I can have sex with anybody & not get attached because sex has no meaning behind it". I looooooooove a short story. Everyone on tiktok kept recommending this book and finally it is on KU!

I appreciate how fast paced & chaotic this was. I needed a quick read to get me going and wow. First off if I was Echo I would’ve at least punched Nikki in the face one good time. I won’t say Nikki deserved what happened to her but I can’t say if I was in the same predicament I wouldn’t do the same yikes 🫢🫠 but wow that was a good one!

Octavia Grant never disappoints. This short story takes a deep dive into good ole fashion karma. It took the phrase do unto others as you would have them do unto you, to another level. Enjoyed this book!
