I simply adore Ray and Katie. A mature romance lasting over half a century and still flourishing. It makes my heart sing. Honest folks living the golden rule, “Treat others as you would like others to treat you.”.
This is an exceptionally good whodunit featuring Ray and Katie working to clear Ray’s name. A clean, fun, entertaining and easy read. I have been binge reading this series this week and I am so disappointed that I will have to wait until July to read the next book in the series.
While I kind of miss Lori as the main character and hobbyist sleuth extraordinaire, Ray and Katie have always been favorites of mine in Dusky Cove, and I'm delighted that they get their own mystery (series?).
Maybe the whodunit isn't the toughest nut to crack, but to me, the Dusky Cove mysteries are more about spending time with old fictional friends anyway. And Gift of Grift gives me just that fix I need. :)
It was an okay read but it moved slowly, was repetitive and really, really dragged towards the end when it should've picked up. I also knew who the murderer was early on. A rarity for me because I purposely try not to guess (I like to be surprised) but it was so glaringly obvious, I couldn't ignore it.
Author Dixie Davis is continuing her Dusky Cove Cozy Mystery series 😄 I’ve read all of her cozy, “whodunnit” mysteries and they’re clean, funny and always have feel good endings 😄

A very simple plot with good characters. This was a bland read with a whole of nothing going on. I am not interested in reading the rest of this series.
