Apple donuts, red sweaters and rebound s3x
Miles has just come home that day from deployment and is invited by his Sergeant, Pierce, to his homecoming party being held at the local pumpkin patch. While he is standing outside the Red Barn getting ready to go in and buy some of their "famous" and delicious apple donuts he hears a young woman on a cellphone talking to someone and he thinks she is funny. When he turns out he is bowled-over by her beauty and her curves, and also by the hilarious conversation that is taking place.
Kimberly has been hiding out living at her older sister Darci's house, with her husband and two crazy little niece and nephew, for the last six months. Ever since the day when she was left at the alter just as her sister was zipping her into her dress while the ex took off on the honeymoon with one of the bridesmaids. At twenty-three she has already graduated college and is
Miles joined the forces out of high school and will be in for the full twenty, already having spent the last sixteen years in. He does not have anyone special in his life never been married or had children. At thirty-four he does want that and all that it entails. Plus his mother has been more than ready to start spoiling grandbabies and wants to see him with someone special.
Miles and Kimberly start talking while they are getting their donuts and discover they are going to the same party, with Miles knowing Pierce and Kimberly knowing Breea. As Kimberly knows she cannot take the donuts to the bonfire/party as they will not last, and Miles does not have a vehicle, she offers to store his dozen in her car. They walk to the back forty of the parking lot talking and laughing along the way. Kimberly charges Miles a storage charge, splitting one of his donuts, and for her it is a religious experience but for Miles it is pure sexual watching her enjoy that warm apple donut. So much so that they end up not just sharing a kiss but doing a lot more in the backseat of her car. But Miles knows she is special and wants more with her so there will be no going all the way.
A few evenings later finds Kimberly at Miles' new place that he is just moving into for dinner. But dinner is going to have to wait as he quickly discovers she is wearing some very racy lingerie the he is going to enjoy a whole lot. Eventually they do end up eating but the burgers are cold as dessert is had a few times before them. The next morning though Kimberly has a freak-out when Miles says that he wants to take her to see his mother in Arizona. Instead of a panic attack Kimberly runs, without shoes, and ends up back at home with Darci getting all up in her business. Like a lot of older sisters Darci does have some good advice and gets Kimberly to realize how different Miles is from her ex.
Will Kimberly be able to catch Miles before he flies to see his mother? Will Miles be able to slow things down so Kimberly can catch up to how he feels about her?
Miles is the eighth book in the Alpha Company Renegades series and is another entertaining, fun, sweet, saucy, witty and sexy short story. I really liked both Kimberly and Miles and loved Darci and her two rebels children. This is a definite recommend read!!!

Quick steamy read in the Alpha Company Renegades series and it was such a great addition. Miles and Kimberly were so good. Instant chemistry and attraction between them from the first time they see each other. Great characters and a great story. Loved it. Can’t wait to read more from this series and this author.

Kimberly was jilted on her wedding day, 6 months later she isn't yet ready to date or mingle with men yet. But once she meets miles she cant fight the attraction or instant feelings towards him, but she is still scared.

Good for what it was. You have to keep in mind that this is only 40 pages long. Not a ton of time for a full fledged plot with detailed character development.
It was cute. Some humorous moments that got a small chuckle out of me. And a little sprinkle of spice to keep it interesting.
If you’re looking for a short read to finish while taking a bath, or when you have a few minutes of free time at lunch or before work, Id say this is one of the better ones.

I loved this steamy story. It was entertaining and enjoyable even though it was short. The characters were interesting and relatable. Darci was an awesome sister and exactly whom Kimberly needed.

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Miles is book eight in the ‘’alpha company renegades’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Miles has just arrived back from a deployment. Whilst at a friend\s party, he meets Kimberly he wants her. After being burnt by love, Kimberly has no plans for it.
The chemistry between Miles and Kimberly is clear to see and I liked them as a couple.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

Kimberly is being badgered by her sister to go to a bonfire. Kimberly is giving her a hard time cause she was jumped at the alter the day she was suppose to get married. Kimberly finally decides to go and as she's talking to her sister on the phone she see a super hot guy who heard the conversation. Miles is absolutely enamored with her. Thus starts the great Apple Donuts love story. Love the interaction between these two and the instant attraction they have is combustible. This is a very well written story with interesting and relatable characters. These great well-written character and they hit it off right away with sparks and a a sense of humor. I really enjoyed this book. I love this series. I can’t wait for the next one. Kimberly was stood up at the alter so she has a hard time trusting men especially military men. When she meets Miles he changes her mind. Definitely recommend this book and all others by Kali.

July 17, 2020a short quick funny read where the alpha military man will sweep his lucky girl off her feet, fall in love istantly, marry quickly, have babies even quicker and still be together in the epilogue set years later. Im unlucky in love so i just shook my head at how quickly the story moved along, but the series was a great quick read for a fun filled weekend away camping.
