Keo is on a mission for Black Tide into the heart of darkness - well, into Shakertown anyway. Close enough.
Shakertown and the nearest remaining settlement Arrowhead were at odds, Shakertown wanting to take over and destroy Arrowhead as it had every other settlement in miles. Black Tide had intervened and forced a peace between them. That didn't sit to well with the Deacon who ran Shakertown, and was accepted with wariness by the leader of Arrowhead - Horatio Norris. Black Tide had learned of a secret weapon Horatio was building, or had built, or had found. Anyway, if it was enough to counter Black Tide, it was BAD news. Keo was sent in to investigate, analyse and destroy the weapon. He soon found that Claire was already in place in Shakertown and had cosied up to the young son of one of the main Shakers. But you know Keo, his best laid plans usually blew up in his face! All he needs now is a horse named Horse.
Warm and amazing characters leave you anxious, confident, hesitant and downright unsettled. Then there's Keo. Poor Keo. He investigates. He analyzes. He plans. He executes. And everything becomes daebak!
This amazing storyline features characters we've grown to know and love. Also a few that are just downright annoying and very killable. The Road to Babylon series is outstanding in a very dystopian zompoc kinda way. The most outstanding character is missing in this book. Lara stayed home without Keo because she is pregnant! Picture it - Road to Babylon #20 - Keo Junior and sister Lara save Mom and Dad from ferocious turtles catching Keo and Lara in their walkers! LOL
You have to get this amazing read! If you haven't read any of the Babylon series, get busy! Once you start you'll have to keep reading and there are dozens of books in the series! All amazing. All great reads. All waiting for you to start right now! What are you waiting for?
Are you still here? Go on, scoot! Get on meeting Lara, Keo, Danny and the rest for the first time. Start with The Purge of Babylon.
Not a bad continuation of the black tide/ ghoul apocalypse series from this author. Cannot miss who the main character is, it is Keo. This is all about him and the adventure Keo goes on. I think there was only a couple of times "he" was used instead of saying Keo. Honestly that gets kind of annoying after a while in that you see Keo's name on almost every page. Hey, we get it this story is about Keo. It is too bad this author usually starts out strong with the plot and story line. But then the author slows everything down when you realize he is already writing the next book in the series. I do understand the cliff-hanger strategy, but it would be nice to finish one story line in a just one book. As opposed to waiting for an extended amount of time to conclude the initial story line.
This one flew by the fastest of all. I am inhaling these books now. I can’t believe how many of them I have read! I was first hooked because I am from and again live in South Texas. No one ever writes about South Texas. So, I was hooked. And now fast forward a million years and here I am still reading Sisavath’s books. I was disappointed to not learn more about the impending birth. I guess I have to wait for the next book. But next December, really? A whole new cast of characters was entertaining. Just as smart-ass Keo always is. The Georgia locale was a fresh change and brief as it is, hearing from Danny is always good. So, okay. I will chill now. Always a pleasure, Mr. Sam.
Keo is the best character that Sam Sisavath has ever created, and he has created quite a few, so it is always a good time to sit down & find out the latest going on in Keo's world. No ghouls this time, but a couple of characters from Keo's past inhabit this new tale. The only downer? Nothing is resolved in this short-ish tale - more a novella than a novel - so now I have to wait about 9 months for the next installment. Still, I am now & will always be a Sisavath fan.
Awesome read like always! I could not put it down and finished it in one sitting! Sucked me right in. Lots of action. Love Keo and his smartass remarks. It is going to be torture waiting until next December for the next book!
Five star- huge fan of the entire series- amazing and a!ways worth the journey. Keo has always been one of my favorite characters almost ad much ad Will and Danny - miss them all. Incredible author Sam Sisivath
Another fine book in the "Babylon" family. Although Keo's jokes are a little worn out ,he is still an entertaining killer. As good as these books are , it's even more perplexing why Sisavath's recent series ,The Fall of Man ,is so bad. Anyway, this series is still top-notch ,so enjoy
Uh oh Keo.Of course it was good. Sam you just can't write a bad book. Now that I have my new Kindle I am ready and patiently waiting. If you need a good series then this is it.
Always wondered what Buck was building in Fenton and what happened to him after Darby Bay. This going to get good as Keo is on the warpath gunning for Buck! Also, still not a clue what weapon is being built that could challenge the mighty Black Tide
The books are becoming a bit repetitive in the way that the main character (Keo) keeps getting into trouble and that the solution to his trouble is in the next book.
