I’ve been there. Perhaps at a place where you’re at right now. Dieting. Running yourself ragged. Working out all the time. Starving yourself. Scrutinizing everything you eat. Obsessing that your calorie intake isn’t exactly perfect. Speaking negatively to yourself. Losing sleep over the size of your butt. That’s not how you were born to live! You were not put on this planet to hate your body. In this book you will discover 5 simple truths that will help you fall madly in love with your body. Truths that you can start living by right now and that will allow you to enjoy the deliciousness of life. The food, the flavors, the experiences, the joy; all of it. So come with me on this journey as I promise it will change your life.
I really enjoyed this book! The 5 Truths outlined in the book are applicable in every part of your life...not just dancing! Although she talks about them in relation to her dance fitness program, she also talks about how to apply these truths to other parts of your life...relationships, work, health and fitness, and how you choose to spend your free time. Some of the challenges/workbook parts in the book do coordinate with the Body Groove program (which is fantastic, by the way!), but many of them can be done without. This is a quick read, and if you are looking for a change of perspective to live the most fulfilling life possible, you should read this book!
3 1/2 stars. On the whole I really liked the author's attitude and message, and I appreciated that it didn't have as much profanity as most body-positive books seem to have. My only real criticism is that you really have to be a customer to use the book effectively.
It’s a great program. I wasn’t losing sleep over the size of my butt, but I am so glad to have found this form of movement that is so empowering and fun. I look forward to grooving every day!
5 Truths and your life can change if you let it. Misty motivates you to be yourself, to love yourself and much more. Hey your groove on, so happy I have found it, love it
Signed up for BodyGroove last week and Misty sent a free link for this ebook. It gives her background, philosophy, and an overview of a 30 day challenge.
As for BodyGroove, what attracted me to the ad I saw on IG was everyone dancing their own way, no choreography, no regimented lines and identical movements, plus such a variety of bodies, everyone having fun & the instructor saying repeatedly “you can’t do it wrong”.
