Side Chick Secrets: I Want Her Man

Rate this book
A dusty, thirsty, chick who one keeps around strictly for beating up the hot box. You usually have to gas her up by alluding to the possibility of a relationship in the near future in order to keep getting what’s between her legs. She’s a throwaway broad who a nigga never intentionally expects to ever wife. Side-chicks are usually cool with their status as the jump off due to the fact that they either have no shame or they are merely blinded by love. (Urban dictionary.com) Egypt, Paris, and London James are three sisters doomed from the time they entered the world. Being the side piece’s children leads each of them on the road to discovering exactly who they are as women. Egypt, the oldest of the three sisters, finds herself in a similar situation as her mother; the side chick. While she hated to believe that her boyfriend was anything like her father, she continued a downhill relationship with the very fine, sexy, but also very married, Moses Malone. Moses. Unlike her father, Moses never rendered promises to leave his wife, but Egypt plans to do anything necessary to leave her side chick status behind and become the main chick on the arm of her man. Little does she know, Moses’ wife, Marlee, is a force to be reckoned with and will not give up her man so easily. Doing anything she has to do to ensure she never loses her husband, Marlee is willing to use secrets from Moses’ past and present to make sure no one, including the side chick, steals what is rightfully hers. Just like side piece status had a meaning to Egypt, wifey status took reign in Marlee’s eyes. Paris James, the middle sister, hot-headed, determined, and a fashion boutique owner was hell on wheels. What happened between her mother and father left her drained, disgusted, and bitter. She was hell bent on never being anyone’s side chick, and in order to make sure of it, she swore off men period. Promising herself she’d never deal with a man and risk dealing with heartbreak like her father had inflicted on their mother, she lived her life dating and sexing women only. Would this secure her heart, or will she discover that even females knew how to play the same games as niggas did? London James, the baby girl of the bunch, was always sheltered and protected by her older siblings, but unbeknownst to them, just like the fall out of their parents wreaked havoc on them, it did the same to her. Keeping her personal life low key from her siblings and grandparents, London found herself swooped in by an older man who plays on her naivety and her innocence. While everyone deals with their own issues, the baby of the family deals with inner demons and outward sins in private, driving her to make some choices that no young girl should have to face alone. While each of these young women struggle to find out who they are as women, everything goes back to the choices made in their childhood. Were they old enough to know better and do better now? Yes, they were, but what they saw and experienced in their daily lives had molded them into what they became. And what each of them saw in their early years was their mother put on the back burner for their father’s wife and other kids. In this nail-biting, gripping, on the edge urban tale of three sisters, who based what they knew about love from their side chick mother and unfaithful father, they learn quickly that their past can make or break them. Secrets, lies, and betrayal will either rip them apart or make them stick together like glue. Let’s take a ride and see how side chick secrets can change lives… especially when you want someone else’s man!

As good as it gets!

After a drought in the literary world I was excited to see a new title by Jessica M and this didn’t disappoint. It’s easy to see how their childhood led each lady to take certain actions as adults. They are all dealing with the side effects of being the daughters of a side chick. The tragic ending to the triangle that was their mom, dad, and his wife only enhanced the feelings Egypt, Paris, and London felt about their dad. Where Paris hated him she. Ow hates him more in adulthood. Where London loved him she loves him more and looks for a man like him. Egypt understood her mother and her father’s place in their lives so much that she is repeating the same story for herself and now her daughter. We also get to see how this all affected DJ and Dalon, The sons of the father. DJ is a womanizer only he doesn’t tell his many baby mamas sweet nothings. Egypt’s situation understandably dominates part 1. We learn how she has fallen into a side chick role with Dr. Moses Malone. We get her perspective but even more we get his perspective. He doesn’t seem to want to repeat the past in that he doesn’t want his daughter China becoming like Egypt. He loves his wife and even more she has secrets that cam destroy him. We find out that Marlee isn’t without fault either. Secrets are revealed and part 2 can’t come soon enough!

BOMB BOMB BOMB 💣

This book was so good from beginning to end. Everyone is connected to the other. Now with the pipping hot tea that’s been spilled what is about to happen next. What will be the state of all of these relationships.
Egypt I don’t understand how she can let this be life for her. I guess I’ve never been a side chick so I don’t know that mindset.
Marlee how you going so hard to find some shit out and calling someone else a Thot when you fucking your husbands brother.
Moses need to get his affairs in order starting with his credentials because what Marlee done is unforgivable. By no means what Moses is doing right or fair but at least he didn’t fuck on a best friend or a damn sister
Angie is messy and I don’t like her period!! I hope Paris dog her ass because this is just messy.
London you wanted to be grown so bad following behind your friend and now you’re being treated like a mule and a prostitute.
Weeehhh Chiiiillleee give me part 2

Great Read

This book was so good, but I'm so pissed at some of these characters. Egypt, is super stuck on stupid, she's lived and seen the same situation played out before her eyes. London, is scarred for life all ready and now her issues are going to get worst. Paris, is looking for love and hopefully mister right comes along. DJ is his father's son, but he's not stringing the women along with false hope. Marlee, is sneaky and trifling..... Angie, needs her butt whooped for running her mouth. Moses.....Moses. it's so many secrets, twist and turns that I can't wait to see what happens next. Good job Jessica M.

OMG!!!!!

This is my first read from this author but it will not be the last. I tend to hate books about side chicks but this one kind of drew me in by the title. Once I started reading though I couldn't put it down. The storylines are just as crazy but you can't help but get caught up in them. It was well written and gives you enough back story to understand why the characters do the the things they do. I cannot wait to read part 2.

Great read

This book was soooo good which is why I’m real life mad at some of these characters. Egypt is definitely extra dumb seeing as though she’s already seen the situation play out at it’s worst. Marlee extra trifling cause you could’ve done a million other dinos but you just had to pick that one. Moses a bucket of dumb too because you know what you have at risk. I can’t wait to see how this plays out!

Now this book was a page turner. The way the first page just pulled you in. I felt bad for the wife and the side chick. It is actually man in this world that are really like this. Yes, you took care of your children but what or how did it mentally affect them.

Sad part is Egypt never wanted to be like her mom but in all reality she turned into her mom. The middle daughter was so traumatized that she didn’t wanna deal with men at all. The youngest sister just wanted to be seen as an adult but got more than she bargained for.

Part 2 awaits….
