Love this series (the actual series and the prequel series) and love Riley. Two complaints...Riley is always so unsure of herself and that gets a bit old. Ryan can be such a jerk and Crivaro is so cranky all the time. Ugh. Still, enjoyed this one as much as the others!
Thoroughly enjoyed the book with the twists and turns. The book continues to grow the characters and we get to see how Riley dissects her feeling about using gun force in a previous book. I still and growing weary of Jake, her partner, behaving like a grumpy old man even though he wants to finish mentoring Riley. On to the next book.
Continuing to love this series and the background on Riley Paige! I love that Blake has started this series and continued it where we are getting background on Riley Paige and understand how she got to where she is at the beginning (and throughout) the original series for her. This book was a great addition to that series, with Riley’s next big case just starting out with the BAU. This book was different in that we see Riley start to become more assertive as well as start to handle and cope with more mainstream issues from the job. Per usual, Blake kept me guessing on who the killer was and I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure it out. One thing I would’ve loved to see was more insight into Riley’s relationship with Ryan and what went on with them, so hopefully we get more from them in the next book! Can’t wait for the next installment! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Someone is stalking, kidnapping and murdering young girls. Riley is supposed to be on leave pending her psychological but Special Agent Crivaro called her to work on this case. Even though Ryan strongly objected to her going Riley felt compelled and Ryan's objections fell on deaf ears. Riley should have listened as she was not 100% after having to use deadly force on a teenage girl. Even though Riley was in a kill or be killed situation she was still having guilty flashbacks.
Although young women were warned to not go out alone at night some still chanced it and paid the ultimate price...death by strangulation. The young can often be so very foolish.
Riley Paige remains one of my all time favorite series and the Making of Riley gives the reader great insight as to how Riley became Riley.
I was given an advanced copy for review and was in no way compensated and my review is honest and my own.
Always thrilled to read a Blake Pierce, Mystery, or Suspense Thriller, etc. This the next to the last book about the making of Riley Paige and it is definitely not for the faint of heart. Blake Pierce's Riley Paige Mysteries are so out there at times that I have to take a break for a while and then come back to finish the story. A lot of times I have been tempted to see how the ending is but I know she definitely gets the unsub, but the thing is I just don't know how she does it unless I read all the chapters. That is what keeps me reading to the end and wanting to find another great Riley Paige mystery, or my favorite profiler Jessie Hunt or Rachel Gift, etc., etc. I loved this book and I have one more in this series so I can get back to the other Riley Paige books I have yet to read. This was an awesome read for me.
Riley and Agent Crivaro are tasked to investigate the murder of two teenaged girls but with the last case barely under wraps, Riley finds this case harder than she imagined. Can she pull it together before another girl dies?
Getting to read about the making of Riley Paige is wonderful. I enjoy reading about the foundation of her FBI career and how her experiences shaped her.
Riley Page is newly out of the FBI academy and working with her mentor on a new case where 2 teenage girls from different states are found strangle and killed within days of each other. Again, she has to reach deep within herself to tap into her special ability of connecting with the killer. However, this ability is not helping her get to the bottom of solving this case but she is determined to work with her mentor to stop the killing from killing anymore victims.
Riley is struggling with her first kill on the job. She starts to tailspin, but Jake needs her help on another case. He worries it is too soon to bring her out, but she insisted. She had to leave the room when they show the images of the dead bodies, but Jake describes his first kill to her as well. They bond even deeper while getting into the mind of the killer to take them down. I love getting to see the 2 of them work together, and I hope they continue growing!
In the US the small.towns treasure the consertive way of life. Blake Pierce brilliantly in this novel Stalking :explores this way of life through the eyes of new FBI Agent Riley Sweeney. However the people became involved in the murders of their Daughters.was on pins and needles as to who was the killer and the writing of Blake Pierce..

Riley, Riley, Riley, you keep almost dying! And really, why are you staying with Ryan? You have zero in common with the guy. I like how this one wrapped up. Now I have to wait for book six so I can't start the ones where she is beyond the Making of and into the actual experienced FBI Riley Paige.
Please bring on the next book! This series is built of fast reading suspense filled drama with characters who have real life personal issues.. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Riley and Jake are into all kinds of murder and problems. It’s a great look at how the stress of the FBI can effect the Phsyc of the men and women who have to deal with it.
