Saint Germain On Alchemy: Formulas for Self-Transformation

Rate this book
"Voltaire called him the “man who never dies and knows everything.” The Count Saint Germain turned base metals into gold, removed the flaws from diamonds and discovered the elixir of youth. In the eighteenth century, this “Wonderman of Europe” was the confidant of kings and a friend to the poor. Today the master Saint Germain shows that miracles are nothing more than the natural outgrowth of the practice of spiritual alchemy. In this greatest of all self-help books, he describes the principles of alchemy and how you can use them in your own life to bring about spiritual, mental, emotional and physical transformation."

Wandering a Barnes and Noble, I found this book, the only one on the shelf, and immediately felt the need to go through it, the first and only book of that day I picked up to read, and I read one section of it, regarding the Anxiety Syndrome, and I knew that this was a book I had to own and finish. Very luckily, and synchronistically, my elder friend, Brad, had found me in the bookstore, assuming that that is where I'd head off to, and he inquired whether or not I had found something, heading into the bookstore himself to pick up a follow-up book of his own, and I said, "Actually..yes." He told me to go get it, purchased it for me, and I've been reading, meditating, affirming, visualizing, copying quotes down, (everything I do when I wholly love a book) since!

I definitely recommend this. It isn't completely perfect in all points, but so many were perfect for me, and were just what I needed to read, at the right time. I will most certainly read through this again.

I love the symbolism of the maltese cross described within. It's inspiring and helpful, and I've had tears well up from passages so heart-resonating.

"Call not so much for an increase if Power, then, as for a better understanding of how to use that Power which you already have."

I'm still reading this book on and off. I will not lie and say I didn't try some of the teachings of alchemy. (Not quite successful, lol) Overall it is a metaphysical read with a positive message and good positive thinking involved. I am intrigued by the character of St. Germain himself and how he was believed to be immortal, plus all the myths surrounding this Saint, such as always dressed in black, never aged, made diamonds perfect, converted rubies into diamonds, how he had powers of influence over dignitaries. The list of attributes is long. When read with an open mind this book can be fun.

This book is one of the greats. Should be on every spiritual seekers bookshelf. It's deep, very deep. And it takes time to integrate into one's life, one's body, mind, spirit, cells.

If there's something you don't agree with in this book, put that on a shelf and see what you can take from this. I've re-read this book for years and I still don't think I've gotten it all.

First off, I think it's a very good book, I don't agree with some of the things he talks and teaches about, like reincarnation, among other things.
But it's defiantly worth the read, very interesting, everything else in it is pretty amazing as well. If you like technical, scientific way of putting things.

I was however, a little disappointed in what it claimed and yet it didn't come across as well as it said it would.
For instance, It says it will give you a step by step way of Self-Transformation (aka Translated) and it does give you that, along with affirmations. But it's not as clear as I was anticipating it would be, considering it said it was going to be.

Then it's kinda of like, hey, you need to call upon me to guide you to this school in the Tetons, to lean more. (Which was a little weird.)

Though it's a good book, it's just wasn't what I was expecting from a book on Alchemy.

I did give it 4 stars though, because there is some very valuable information in there that is worth picking out to reread and study for sure, to apply to yourself in that ever ending quest to find the truth about ourselves and to add to your knowledge on how to Transform yourself into.. Something "Higher."

Yeah, so there's my two cents.

This is the first book I'v read related to the "Ascended Masters". I chose this book because I'm most familiar with the ascended master St. Germain. This book had an interesting take on what it means to be an alchemist. Being an alchemist doesn't mean making gold bars out of nothing for material wealth but purifying your spiritual being for spiritual wealth. Despite the wild stories of the Prophets as a cult, this was a satisfying read.

Oof. That was painful. So much fluff and boring droning on. Contradicts itself repeatedly when it does make statements.

The “alchemy” it teaches:
1. Visualize something. It recommends a Maltese cross. Do it enough and it will materialize.
2. Visualize a white cloud around you. Do it more and make it bigger. Why? Who knows.

Interesting book, I had originally wanted to read this because of a program that I saw about alchemy and wasn't too sure what it was. But from what I've read it's a new age religion that mixes Indian and Christian beliefs. I was lured into this reading because there is a believe that through some kind of metaphysical operation one can create "gold" from any metals. Well, if you you this book doesn't really tell you some chemical experiments to perform. What it does say is that you could pretty much will it into existence. I don't know about that, but I'm willing to give it a shot and see what happens, who knows, maybe I'll get lucky. But the book is pretty interesting nonetheless, Elizabeth Clare Prophet, wife to Mark L. Prophet, passed away on Oct. 2009. Would have love have spoken. Great book, and would recommend to anyone who likes interesting reading, and have an opened mind.

My copy is includes: Studies in Alchemy, Intermediate Studies in Alchemy, A Trilogy on the Threefold Flame of Life and The Alchemy of the Word - Good Reads didn't have the same page count - I'm on 410 in the last book - its a little daunting as it's definitions. The other books were interesting however the authors use of language is all over the place, so it would snap you out of the 'learning from a master' to thinking you're listening to a wise acre. I did like the information on managing your own power and the spiritual feel of the concepts.
