Ten glorious days with her boyfriend hiking in the tropical Maui jungles, going on romantic moonlit walks on the beach, and imbibing in an occasional fruity umbrella drink. The only foreseeable problem is insuring they applied enough sunscreen to their pasty-white Wisconsinite skin. This is Jayne O’Shea’s plan for her Hawaiian vacation.
The one thing, the biggest thing that wasn’t on her agenda was solving any kind of crime. Which means she shouldn’t have told the woman across the street she was a small-town sheriff in her real life. Gemi Kittredge is the top-ranked women’s bantamweight MMA fighter on the island. She’s capable of taking down a man twice her size in under thirty seconds. When Gemi begs for her help, how can Jayne possibly say no?
Mystery and fantasy author Shawn McGuire loves creating characters and places her fans want to return to again and again. She started writing after seeing the first Star Wars movie (that's episode IV) as a kid. She couldn't wait for the next installment to come out so wrote her own. Sadly, those notebooks are long lost, but her desire to tell a tale is as strong now as it was then. She lives in Wisconsin near the beautiful Mississippi River and when not writing or reading, she might be baking, crafting, going for a long walk, or nibbling really dark chocolate. Another will written romantic mystery family and friends relationships adventure thriller short story by Shawn McGuire (A Whispering Pines Mystery). Maybe O'Shea and Tripp her boyfriend are on vacation in Hawaii thanks to a friend back in Whispering Pines, Wisconsin. They get into the mystery of a missing bracelet. Working with a girl 👧from the gym they are successful in locating it. I would recommend this novella and author to 👍 readers looking for a quick mystery read. Enjoy the adventure of reading 👓 or listening 🎶 to Alexa read books 📚. 2023 👒 😀😯🌙
I started the Whispering Pines Mystery Series a number of years ago. I hope to get back to it just too many authors and series that I enjoy. Happy reading
A different view of Jayne as she is on vacation in Maui. Short and cute with interesting characters. I missed Whispering Pines and I missed the secrets and culture. A well written short story.
Loved it.. Totally loved it! I started this book and I was like Ok! Good things.. Then bad things.. Then There is River. Then some freaky, creepy things that really made me wonder.. Then a question that I have been wondering! Still with no answer. I wonder if it will get answered in the next book... And a new character who I enjoyed. She is deep and very close mouthed. I hope we see her again too!
There can't be a book about Jayne and Tripp without Jayne brr called upon to solve some crime or other. At least this one was solved quickly thereby allowing Jayne to enjoy 8 1/2 days of their holiday in Maui, courtesy of their dear friend River. Happy reading. Annemarie
Short mystery with Jayne and Tripp vacationing on Maui, staying in River’s condo. Jayne helps neighbor find a stolen bracelet. It introduces a character from a new series who does MMA as a sideline.
Can't say much about this short story, as it would basically be a huge spoiler. As soon as you finish book #9 of this series, read this story next, before continuing onto book #10. That's all folks!
What a perfect little story. Nestled on the beach of Hawaii, Jayne can't seem to stay away from crime and mystery. The crime being the theft from her neighbor. The mystery.... River Carr.
Another great book in this series of Whispering Pines mysteries. This one was about Jayne and a young girl she met while they were on holiday in Maui. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
As always, Jane gets the job done with the help of her little Meeka. Shawn never disappoints with her stories and this one is sure to please. Sandy beaches and palm trees!
The only problem with short mysteries, is they are too short. Just when you start to get interested in the characters the story comes to a close. Otherwise this was good and would have been great to finish out yuki’s story.
Well, it started as a vacation. But when a neighbor on this sunny, warm vacation spot has a five thousand dollar bracelet, that is not hers, stolen, Jayne steps up to help.
Restful vacation for Jayne and Tripp. Not for long. This was a wonderful short story. With a strong message for women and children in danger and how to get them free.
Jane can't seem to escape crime when she goes on vacation with her boyfriend and his aunt and uncle. How can she say no to someone who needs her help? Well-written and interesting. It had my attention the entire time reading it.
