In recent days, life has been much kinder to Deb and Gen than in times past. And not only has life been kind, both are in for some of the greatest highs they've ever experienced. Luke has a big surprise up his sleeve for Deb, and Gen's family is about to welcome one of their greatest blessings. But even as their dreams are coming true, the women are finding life is never just cupcakes and roses.
Bess thought dating a man after being married for thirty years was hard. But that was nothing compared to dating two men. It becomes too much for Bess, and she decides to put her all into making things work with Jon again. But going back to what she and Jon were is a lot harder than she thought it would be. Especially because she is no longer the same woman who was once married to Jon.
Lily and Allen have a loving, incredible marriage, but when confronted with the biggest trial of their lives, can they hold on to the good and push past the bad? Or will they break under the ever increasing pressure of their new circumstances?
Olivia is finally ready to date again. She still has scars from her marriage to Bart, but she is stronger, wiser, and needs to move on. Too bad Dean, the man she has deep feelings for, is dating another woman. The last thing Olivia would ever do is break up a good couple. So instead of dating Dean, she decides to let him set her up with his friend. What could possibly go wrong?
Through the mess and craziness of life's ever-present changes, the women continue to rely on each other. And they're reminded that even after the longest of nights, the sun always rises again.

Sisters and Sunrise: Whisling Island Series Book 3 is by Julia Clemens. This series is set on an island off the coast of Washington State. It is a hidden treasure that was created by Julia. Julia makes this island so welcoming and the people so delghtful that it makes the reader want to move there and try it out. The descriptions of the restored homes are brilliant. It is entirely too much so that you want to live here forever with these people as your friends. The women of the Island have formed a formidable bunch. Their lives intertwine and they help each other with their children and their problems. Most have known each other for a long time. Deb has a sister; but Nora lives somewhere else and only comes home for visits. She is engaged to Luke and between them they have three girls. Gen has her sister Bess. Gen is married to Luke and they have two girls Maddie and Cami; Bess just divorced Jon and they have three grown children. She is attracted to a younger man, Dax. Kate who is dating Kevin has her sister Lily. Lily is married to Allen, a kindergarten teacher. He adores his daughter Amelia. He has a car wreck and becomes paralyzed. Olivia is divorced from Seth, a very rich man who things he needs to control things, like Olivia. They have two daughters, Rachel and Pearl. Olivia begins dating Noah when she loves Dane. Finally, there is Alexis who has come back to be with her mother. She works as a chef for Bess’s food truck. This book deals with Deb and Bess. Bess’s husband has had an affair and Bess cannot forgive him. She has lost her trust in Jim. She decides she needs to do something and since the only thing she does well is cook, so she is talked into getting a food truck and trying that. Will it work? The series is excellent and you can’t wait for the next one to read. I am glad I was able to get them in groups of two so I didn’t have to wait to find out what was happening.
Bess, Gen, Olivia, and Deb continue their emotional growth. Bess’s ex-husband suddenly returns, adamant that he wants a second chance to make things work between them, and Bess has to make some difficult choices. Deb marries Luke and opens an art gallery while becoming step-mother to Luke’s daughters. Gen gives birth to baby Cami and deals with becoming mother two two little girls at the same time. Olivia realizes she has strong feelings for her landlord Dean, but by the time she’s ready to admit it to him, he’s started to date someone else. We’re also introduced to Lily, who has a loving husband and beautiful baby, until a car accident changes everything. As with the first two books, I enjoyed the intersecting story lines, but this installment seemed to lack the quality of editing I usually find in Clemens’ books. I also had to wonder at the assumption that Lily’s husband could find a teaching job anywhere. Bess also makes a few decisions I couldn’t quite sympathize with. I’m hoping all is resolved in the fourth book.
🌸In the first book in this series, we meet empty nester Bess, her younger sister Gen, Bess’s best friend Deb and her neighbour’s daughter Olivia when they are navigating the aftermath of infidelity.
🌸Set on Whisling Island, a ferry ride from Seattle, the four are all dealing with their new lives.
🌸This story is the third in the series of interconnected, flowing stories. The 13 are all available on Kindle Unlimited. Set aside some time to catch up with life on Whisling island.

This is the third book in the Whisling Island series. They are a series that builds from book one so are much better read in order. These books have depth and real life challenges that aren’t solved in just under 200 pages. I like that. I love fluff but getting a meatier novel is a lovely thing. The characters have engaged me and I have definite opinions about which characters should make a match. I have a busy life so getting invested in fictional characters is quite a feat. These are also clean reads- for me that’s a must. Start with book one and enjoy!
These books are amazing. The raw emotion at times, good and bad, is so very realistic and true to life!! You almost forget it's fiction. The part of Lily and Allen is so heartbreaking. To see women become their true selves after heartbreak is an uplifting feeling! Thank you!!
I usually don't enjoy reading a series, but this one about the people from Whisling Island has been excellent! I really want to move there. Believe it or not, I have received some help for myself on a previous relationship and how I have (or should say how I haven't) dealt with it honestly enough. I enjoy Julia Clemens writing. Thank you!!
Great characters and I loved the fact that I'm pretty sure that I can see Whisling Island from my back deck on the Northwest end of Camano. My husband died just over a year ago, and I've been kind of hovering without much direction. There book kick started me. I'm ready to get back to being me. Thank you, Ronnee
I am liking this series - an easy read and I have become invested in the characters. I have ONE (albeit major) complaint. I feel like the women are portrayed as weak, at least until problems in their relationships arise. We are NOT weak - I wish the author would finally portray a woman who is strong BEFORE her relationship hits trouble. Hmmm - lots more books in the series, maybe she will!
The Whisling Island series - especially this particular book had me pondering about relationships in my own life. Ms. Clemons is a strong writer. We can all learn from het.
4 stars for Sisters and Sunrises Whisling Island Book 3. We continue to follow Bess, Deb, Olivia,Feb and now Lily on their quest to find the happily ever after and survive betrayal. This close knit group share each other's trials and successes.
Definitely an easy read , the third in the Whisling island series. The characters are very interesting and the plot is continuous from the previous books. Just what I needed.
A lot of situations about marriage, divorce, spousal abuse, and sisterhood are explored in this serious. No easy answers or quick fixes, just thoughtfully working through a variety of relationships .
This book was a pleasure to read with all of Lily's problems after he husbands accident. All of the women figuring out who they really wanted to be with. The children all growing up. I am looking forward to reading the next book.
