I love this series! The ladies have two crimes to investigate, the theft of a pair of jewel encrusted gauntlets that have gone missing off of a coffin right under their eyes and Abby Ruth's priceless gun collection. To say that they have their hands full is an understatement!

This book wasn't as funny as the previous ones, there is a deeper theme running through it. Lots of secrets, changes and emotions going on that makes it a bit more serious. It's still a wild ride as each one of the gang grapple with things going on not only in their lives but with those around them. I thought that it made the characters grow and fill out more, you also find out more about Abby Ruth and Sera's past that really bring them more depth.

Another great addition to the series!

G team

It has been a while since I read the first 3 in the series. This series 4 was as enjoyable as the first three. Although it can stand alone, it was more enjoyable having the history and background from the first three.

Best series

Fun thrilling engaging women investigators with flare and southern charm. Can't wait for more. Lily's antebellum is the base for the team of amateur sleuths why never back down against crime.

Love the grannies

Please write more of these! This is my second reading and I am reminded every page why I love this series. The characters are creative and fun. One of these would make a great movie!

This is a great book; this is the fourth book in The Granny Series by Nancy Naigle and Kelsey Browning. This is a great series and can be read as a standalone, however, once you read one you will have to go back and read the other books in this wonderful series. When Hollywood A-listers swarm Bartell County for a celebrity funeral, Miss Lillian takes in a temporary houseguest. When the charming visitor leaves, Abby Ruth’s adored arsenal has vamoosed. Lil, Maggie, and Sera are in a hot mess trying to find the guns before Abby Ruth gets back. The grannies have really crossed the line now. This book has a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this great series. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

This is the only book I have read in this series so perhaps readers from the beginning like it better because they are invested in the characters and care about them. When I requested this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review, it was listed as a humorous mystery. While it wasn't all doom and gloom (although three of the 5 "grannies" go through something serious during the book) I didn't smile or laugh once.

The mystery was very weak. You know from the very beginning who stole Abby Ruth's guns, yes, there's more to it than what it seems, but there wasn't much to the whole investigation. It was more a senior chick lit mystery.

On the plus side, the writing flowed well and the story moved along. All the characters got some page time with Maggie and Jenny getting the least. Perhaps this varies from book to book. Despite this, I never really developed much interest in the characters and have no desire to get caught up with the series or read the next one.

I’m continuing to enjoy the antics of the Seasoned Southern Sleuths. When this story opens, they’re attending the funeral of a famous movie star who's going to be buried near Lillian’s estate. They’re guests because Sera’s husband happens to be a Hollywood producer. For some reason, Abby Ruth is off somewhere (that’s explained later), so Lillian is coerced into hosting a guest who would normally be staying at the witch’s bed and breakfast. The ladies soon have two mysteries to solve: someone steals a pair of jewel-studded gauntlets from the movie star’s western costume, and all of Abby Ruth’s arsenal goes missing. Since Lillian is the last person seen touching the gauntlets, she’s a suspect. The ladies need to find the guns and the gauntlets, and Sera needs to decide whether she belongs in Hollywood or Summer Shoals, Georgia.

Entertaining story with a good plot. The friendship among the women adds a nice twist to the story.
I have only read this book in the series so I would suggest reading the other 3 books first. I know I missed a lot of important information by not reading the other books beforehand.

When the death of a celebrity actress brings the Hollywood A-listers to Bartell County, the sweet southern ladies find themselves wrapped in a mystery fit for the big screen. When they begin to investigate, they run into criminal activities that leave one of them fighting for her life.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my fair and honest review.

Under The Gun is the fourth book in The Granny Series. This book is great, an entertaining story with humor, surprises, sadness, and a wonderful friendship among these grannies.
Hollywood's famous are in Bartell County for a funeral of a celebrity. Lillian takes in a temporary houseguest, and when he leaves Abby Ruth's guns are missing and that sets Sera, Lil and Maggie on the search to get them back.
I am looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series.

The grannies and their younger friends make me laugh. They also bring tears to my eyes. The mysteries they solve are clever and entertaining. I am already looking forward to reading the next one. I was provided a copy via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Nice not to be looking for a murderer, but the grannies do get into dangerous situations.

Loved it

Laughter, sadness, and intrigue. There is great humor while the grannies go through life's happenings and Chase down criminals and solve the crimes. This one left some great openings for the next book without being a cliffhanger. I do recommend reading these in order, but don't think it's totally necessary.

Another great installment in the granny mysteries. Sera, who had returned to her life in California, is back under the Summer Haven roof with her Hollywood director husband, for the funeral of a good friend and former Hollywood star. Items disappear from the funeral. Lil is questioned, since she now has a criminal record, and the ladies try to solve the mystery. Meanwhile, Abby Ruth has disapeard on a trip no one, including her daughter, knows anything about. While she is gone, Lil, in an effort to help with the influx of visitors to the community, takes in a local B&B regular who has been bumped by the celebrities. As the gals movie Abby Ruth's belongings back in to her room, they discover someone has stolen her prized antique gun collection. So now the hunt for the guns and the disappearing items from the funeral occupy the girl's attention. Then Abby Ruth return and finally spills the beans about where she has been. Lots and lots happen. You just need to read this installment. This one has some very serious moments and well as the regular craziness.
