Tech Billionaires #3

Sleight of Hand

Rate this book
The night was magical, the morning after wasn't.

I was celebrating selling my company when I noticed him enter the bar. Landon knew just what to say and one thing led to another. It was supposed to be a one-time thing, but reality slapped me in the face the next morning. He arrived to sign the purchase papers, and now I was committed to working for him for an entire decade. When I can’t make my code work, his patience runs thin. Someone is sabotaging us, and if we can’t figure it out, I’ll have no company, no money, and no future.

That night Tinsley offered something I couldn’t resist. Now she works for me, and I have to put that night behind us. The project isn’t getting finished, and the competition is nipping at our heels. My firm put a lot of money into this, and if I can’t get it sorted out we lose and it affects a lot of people. I thought I was going to ruin her for other men when this was over, but she may ruin me first.

Competition in the sector is fierce. Mutual attraction and a looming deadline collide in a volatile mix when Landon and Tinsley are forced together. Will missing coworkers, paparazzi, paternity suits, poker tournaments, and other distractions all conspire to threaten their future?

Sleight of Hand is a standalone romantic suspense novel with a happy ending. It’s the third book in the Billionaire Tech Series featuring the characters from the Venture Capitalist and Clear Security series.

Synopsis:
Tinsley is at a bar with her friend to celebrate the sale of her company – Translations – to Disruptive Technologies. It is at the bar where she meets Peter Landon and where they have a hot sexy session, without being any the wiser who the other really is.

But, come the next morning, and Landon is the man Tinsley is bound by a contract to work with for the next ten years!

Review:
Diving straightway into action, Sleight of Hand tells the story of Landon and Tinsley. I like my heroines brainy and this one had a Stanford degree in electrical engineering and software development. But, she still failed to research the company properly to which she sold hers. Particularly that handsome guy who could get her into trouble. Also, seeing that Claire, Landon’s sister, was at the forefront of all the negotiations.

Peter Landon Walsh the Third is a manwhore, something which his younger sister can attest to. It is further proved when he shamelessly flirts with another woman in front of Claire and Tinsley. Also, Landon offered work with benefits to Tinsley Pratt. Thirty-one to her twenty-five, they make a deal to become work friends, before jumping into intimacy or a relationship again.

Ainsley St Claire does business romances with panache and with a dollop of suspense added for good measure. Here it is a rogue employee, possibly, set to sabotage their work. Add to that a slow burn romance with teasing, flirty sexting. There is a paternity claim and also a few months of ugly/sad separation. From a business flick, it spiralled out into a family drama, with fun moments including sibling quarrels. There are so many laugh-out-loud moments.

This one starts from where the last book – Royally Flushed – left off, at the poker tournament. The climax was interesting but the ending was underwhelming for me, especially seeing the high that Book Two gave me. But I still love St Claire’s writing and can’t wait to read the next in the series, Running Hot : Tech Billionaires Book 4.

Thank you to Booksprout for an e-ARC of the book.

My review of the books in the Tech Billionaires Series is as follows:
House of Cards | Royally Flushed | Sleight of Hand | Running Hot

While all of the Tech Billionaires couples are fabulous together, there is something extra special about Tinsley and Landon – right from the night they meet with their alter ego names. As we’ve come to expect from these books, there is suspense, there is some conflict, and there are also pop-ins from characters from the other Tech Billionaires and Venture Capitalist and Clear Security worlds. Yes, there are times you want to slap some sense into both Landon and his sister, but there are so many wonderful scenes that you kind of forgive them . This is a book to read in a single sitting, and it’s one to revisit when you need something special in your life.

I’m probably about to repeat myself but... I’m absolutely LOVING this series especially this couple. Their chemistry is off the charts. Landon has definitely met his match in life when he met Tinsley.

Grab something strong to drink and curl up with a good blanket because once you start this book you won’t be able to put it down and after the teaser we got of the next book I’m even more excited. I can’t wait to read it next!! 🖤🖤

The Language of Love Translated by the Heart

Tinsley Pratt, beautiful honey-blonde tech innovator, honed her skills at Stanford with a degree in electrical engineering and software development and has now sold her company, Translations, with the vision of revolutionizing communications with translation program which can translate an array of languages, in real time, recognizing the subtleties of slang and idioms in any language. Start-up company, Disruptive Technologies, the brainchild of a brother-sister team—Landon and Claire Walsh—made an offer for Tinsley’s company with support—with both financial and technical of SHN, one of San Francisco’s most innovative and financially supportive new start investors. And Tinsley accepts with the agreement that she and her technology team would support and integrate her translation program into the Walsh’s new software platform.

To celebrate Tinsley’s genius and new partnership, she and her best friend Chrissy Matthews, a Harvard MBA who runs the marketing for a major bank, hit the bars to mark Tinsley’s accomplishment and her company’s 10-million-dollar price tag. And, they do so under the pseudonyms of “Amanda” and “Madeline,” only looking for fun and no complications. So, when they meet “Peter Landon” and sparks fly between “Amanda” and “Peter,” both feel secure engaging in no strings sex in the coat closet of the bar.

But, when Tinsley joins her new partner, Claire Walsh and Claire’s brother—whom she has never met—in their offices, she is stunned that “Peter,” her closet lover from the night before, is in fact Landon Walsh, her new business partner and co-worker. And, the awkwardness of their previous encounter is only amplified as Tinsley and her team begin to work in the Walsh offices only to be frustrated when the only computer that won’t properly connect to the server and backup is Tinsley’s. It seems that this new translation software merger between the Walsh siblings and Tinsley is doomed before it has even launched. Adding complications are legal challenges against Landon Walsh in two cities—Las Vegas wants to interview him in conjunction with a missing person/murder that took place at the Shangri-La Hotel and Casino during the time he participated in a closed poker-game, and the San Francisco police are seeking to interview him about a missing person investigation of a former girlfriend who claims that he is the father of her unborn child.

Once more, author Ainsley St. Claire provides her readers with all their desires—a cleverly crafted plot with unexpected twists and turns, telling the stories of intelligent, compelling women engaged in realistic relationships with handsome, hot, passionate men who are respectful and supportive of the women in their orbit. What makes a St Claire novel such an engaging, powerful and emotional reading experience is her masterful plot construction, connecting the lives of interesting, realistic characters in contemporary events of social and cultural concern. Love is always the ultimate result, but as a reader, the experience is most enjoyable as St Claire lures the reader both intellectually and emotionally to consider the actions and choices individuals make, not just for themselves, but to help others. The novels always focus on really good people trying to make a difference in our world. This novel is the third installment in the Tech Billionaires series, but each is able to be read as a standalone experience. Tech Billionaires is smart, energetic, and exciting series. And, in this novel as in the novels of her other series, the reader can get a taste of the next volume in the final pages of the romance. So, at the beginning, in the middle or at the end, don't be afraid to jump into a St. Claire series, the author always has you covered. Having had such a delectable taste, of this new series, I really want to taste more!

If you're a fan of the "Tech Billionaire" series, you will love this book. Ainsley St. Claire has written an incredible series about a group of friends, all billionaires, who are a part of the tech industry. Each of the books centers on a character whose company has been comprimised in some way. Although each can be read as a stand alone, they are all entwined and there is a continuing thread which appears in each story.
"Sleight of Hand" is Landon's story. He is not only a billionaire, but part of an elite poker group that plays for very high stakes. He has lead a reckless lifestyle that has fianlly caught up with him. As his personal life takes one hit after another, his professional life also is being sabbatoged. Tinsley, Landon's and his sister, Claire's new business partner, is being hacked. She creates a new type of technology that could change the way the world interacts together; however, someone is trying to stop her. This adds to the tension already filling Landon's life.
While St. Claire does a fabulous job of writing about the tech world, she also creates of wonderful romance. Landon and Tinsley are great together. Tinsley is young, intelligent and independent. She surrounds herself with a team of incredibly capable women who are surpassing all others in a typically male dominated industry. Landon, who has usually dated the bimbo type, sees Tinsley as refreshing and they discover had suited they are for each other.
It should be noted that while I'm not sure I would call the "Tech Billionaire" series cliffhangers, I would say that they are a continuing series. This story left many questions unanswered. "Sleight of Hand" did allude to the fact that there could be a common thread in each of her stories. I am really looking forward to the next installation!
I would definitely recommend all of the books in the series.

This ARC was provided by the author via BookSprout. Obviously, I am a big fan of this author and her books. This one is part of her Tech Billionaire series, which is similar and includes many of the secondary characters from the Venture Capitalist series. These books have interesting characters and I really enjoy the business side of characters.
This is the story of Landon and Tinsley, who meet in a bar and have brief coatroom encounter expecting to not see each other again. Except the following day, Tinsley walks into the boardroom of the company that has taken over her business to find Landon is her new business partner. From their first meeting there is explosive chemistry, but now that they are business partners Tinsley is hesitate to jump into a relationship with him. Plus, he has a bit of a manwhore persona that makes it difficult to believe he would want a monogamous relationship. Their business relationship helps to build something more than just hot chemistry between them.
There is plenty of secrecy, drama, and corporate espionage to keep the story moving and the reader guessing how it will end. One of the things I like about this author is that her series have an underlying mystery to keeps the books linked and make you want to keep going with the series. My only issue with this book was something that happened with Landon and how he handled the fallout, but do not want to put in any spoilers. Sufficient to say, I would not be as forgiving as Tinsley.

Their relationship became more intense as time passed!
by sewsummore

This book is the first of this series I have read, and I was immediately captivated by the storyline. Tinsley and Landon are the two main characters who were attracted to each other but cannot afford to be distracted in the immediate future. Tinsley had sold her company to a larger startup company that Landon owned with his sister. When the company's network is compromised, Kinsley, and Landon work together to solve the problem, which becomes more complex as time passes. Their relationship becomes more intense as time passed, and when personal issues force Landon to step back from the company, Tinsley is under increased pressure to complete the project on her own. I liked the way the author uses dialogue and settings in this story. As I read this book, I became more immersed in the story and the dramas within the story as they unfolded. I was able to visualize the scenes in my mind as I read them, as each stage flowed onto the next smoothly, it compelled me to keep reading! I enjoyed this book and looked forward to reading more books in the series.

Sleight Of Hand, a funny, lovely love story, with some twists of fate. You will love it.

This book is what I call a non-stopper, meaning, you won’t want to stop until you know everything that’s going and how everything will be sort out.
Sleight Of Hand is the third instalment of The Tec Billionaires, this one is about Landon and Tinsley, unlike our other two couples in the last books, these two didn’t know each other, and they met at a bar, a day before Tinsley’s big day. They had a one night stand, both with fake names, and the belief that they wouldn’t see each other again. Until they did, a day later, on Tinsley big day, she sold her idea, to Landon and his sister, and she just agreed to work with them for the next teen years, not awkward at all.
Firstly, I feel in love with Landon almost instantly, I mean, that man just has something that makes you love him, did I wanted to hit him sometimes? Definitely. But I also wanted to hug him on his hard times.
Tinsley is a very smart woman, a very beautiful, very funny and witty woman, and she is starting to catch feelings for Landon, the problem? He is – on lack of a better word- a manwhore, his sister just keep on reminding her.
These two, are just an amazing couple, they have their ups and downs, but they stick together, their path is complicated and full of scandals, media attacks, and a hacker that wants the project Tinsley has being working on.
There are also news on the case that started back in House of Cards, and wet get to see familiar faces from the Venture Capitalist series, also our beloved Jim, and we have our poker game of the year, who do you think wins it?, trust me, you’re so ready for the next story, I know I can’t wait for it.

Ohhhhh the Tech Billionaire's are back and in more trouble than before. I won't lie, I am not tech savvy at all. But the way Ainsley St. Claire talks about what our hero and heroine do in Sleight of Hand didn't leave me in the dark. I was right there with them chanting come on! Figure it out!!

I really liked Tinsley and her smarts. How she wasn't intimidated at being in a 'mans world'. She worked hard to get where she was and she wasn't going to let anything stop her from accomplishing her goal. Even the attraction to her new business partner.

Wow weeeee! Landon! A playboy with more money than sense sometimes. But he was also brilliantly smart. And unable to get his night with Tinsley out of his head. He wanted her, badly, something that was new for him. And he was determined to put in the work to see where things could go for them. But just as fast as things took off, the problems started pouring in. Issues that nobody could seem to figure out left more questions than answers. And as frustrating as that was, it was Landon's personal mess that really got him into hot water.

I feel like there was almost too much happening at the same time and it made how everything wrapped up a bit anticlimactic. I wanted more of the uncovering of the schemes and deviousness that had plagued both Tinsley and Landon almost from the start. Other than that, Sleight of Hand was smart and steamy and kept me glued to my kindle. And I can't wait to see what drama Ainsley St. Claire has in store for this group of friends next.

This is first series I have read from this series and I enjoyed it.
Tinsley finally sold her program and became a partner in Disruptive Tech. Now she was celebrating her success with her best friend at a bar and meets handsome stranger. She decides to have fun and have her way with this stranger.
When Landon is ready to sign all the papers with new tech, he never expected to see "Amanda" aka Ainsley. He couldn't forget her but now things will be more complicated for both. But one thing for sure, he wanted her more than just partners.
Tinsley, Landon and Claire need to work together to launch their tech before someone else does. Landon wants more than just one night and Tinsley wants approval from his sister and get to know each other. So she asks him for six months but it will be longest 6th months for both of them. They are spending more and more time together at work but there are some issues with her computer and it is only the beginning.
Landon and Tinsley were running into more problem with their work and relationship. Nothing is going to solve their problems and his circle friends are involved. Will Tinsley and Landon work through it or will they give up on each other even before their relationship has started.
I didn't read the other books and after reading this one, I would love to get to know all of Landon's friends. They seems like great in this book and I would like to know all of them.

I received a free ARC of this novel via Book Sprout in exchange for an honest review. My opinion is my own.

This is the third book in the Tech Billionaire series by Ms St Claire. While the previous ones were excellent I think this one is my favorite. The female lead is an amazingly smart and driven young woman that brings scifi into real life applications. The guy is your typical playboy with too much money and not enough discretion in his life. Until crazy life circumstance bring them together after a chance encounter in a bar. Issues abound including an unfinished bit from previous books in this series. It definitely kept my attention from beginning to end. I can't wait for the next one!

ONE HEART POUNDING EXPERIENCE!!!
Dastardly demons! Ainsley blazes through full throttle, revving up the intensity and exuberance, delivering this block busting dynamo, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Lines blur and boundaries crossed, limitations are stretched and bent, booting this baby forward, kicking it into overdrive, slamming it into a tailspin with an life-changing realization. Bearing the burdens and towing the line, imparting this thrilling, pulse racing, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, page flipping, block busting bombshell, blasting this baby to a whole new realm. Braided, bound and entangled, blowing this gem into the eye of the storm, blasting it into a tailspin with astonishing impacts. The raw magnetism, undeniable attraction and sizzling chemistry collides with such intensity, drawing you deeper until you feel the electrifying hum running rampant through your veins. The characters are complex and genuine with traits and qualities that add depth and diversity, transforming into charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions that feel as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Ainsley, thanks for sharing this lil' fella with us.

Stubborn tech billionaire, Landon, has a 1-night stand with Amanda, but it turns out she's his new business partner, Tinsley! Their chemistry is explosive, and while they try to stay apart, the inevitable happens. Even though this can be read as a standalone, I recommend saving the other books in the series to get the full picture of what's going on. This book builds more into the series, and I'm enjoying trying to figure out the whodunits and the whys. I was honestly more interested in the plot then the romance between Tinsley and Landon, and I'm looking forward to reading more in the Tech Billionares series.

Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

ARC was given by Author through the Booksprout. My review is giving completely voluntarily.

Sleight of Hand is book 3 in the Tech series.

I gave this book 5 stars.
This is another fantastic book that is added to this series. This book is well written, its the story about Landon and Tinsley. Author continues with a mystery suspense storyline, where strange events happens to the company's, Landon & Tinsley throughout the book while keeping us wondering what, and who the enemies is behind the troubles. They have a steamy hot chemistry together right from the start. We've become really invest in this series, because the secondary characters are so freaking good, part of the story, and they will continue to be part of it. I love them all I feel like I'm part of their family at this point. There's surprises in every book, and this one had them too well done Ainsley St Claire.
There's no cliffhangers, it can be read as a standalone, but I guarantee you will enjoy to reading all the books in this series.

I love all of Ainsley St. Claire’s books. She always has great characters and great stories. Tinsley and Landon meet by accident and have a one night stand so they think. Tinsley sold her company to Disruptive Technologies who Landon is part owner with his sister Claire. Their chemistry is so strong they find it hard to stay away from each other. There are so many twists to this story its hard to keep up sometimes. Tinsley has a college person who is so jealous of her success that he causes problems for her part of the company. Landon has women problems that he is dealing with. The law is out to get him because of false claims. I still love how Ainsley brings other characters into her new books. So glad that Mason and Katie finally are getting married in this book. I hope to read about Landon & Tinsley’s wedding in up coming books.

This is the third book in the Tech Billionaires series. This is Landon and Tinsley's story. In a nutshell, Landon wants to purchase Tinsley's company that she is selling. There one romantic night together turns out to haunt them both. There seems to be a challenge and a twist for our characters around every corner of this book. There is alot on the line but can they work together and find success both professionally and personally? This was a great story, I loved it. I could not read and turn the pages fast enough. I was rooting for Landon and Tinsley to find their profeasional strength together and so happy to see they found so much more. Enjoy!

This is the third book in the Tech Billionaire Series by Ainsley St. Claire featuring characters from her Venture Capitalist and Clear Sevurity Series. Tinsley is out celebrating the sale of her company with her best friend Chrissy when Landon walks into the bar. The girls notice him while he sees them and saunters over to them. The girls always give fake names and made up jobs since in San Fransisco men are intimidated by smart beautiful women. Landon also gives a fake name because he and his sister Claire own one of the biggest tech company's in the Silicon Valley. Needless to say, Landon and Tinsley hit if off and have a one night stand in the bars coatroom.

The next morning, Tinsley head into Disruptive Technologies to finalize the sale of her company Translation to them. Claire walks into the conference room follwed by not only her attorney but two other men, one being Landon her one night stand from last night. Landon acts as though he doesn't recognize her which is just fine with her. As the day progresses he confesses he recognizes herand tells her he planned on finding her, there was just something about her that intrigued him to get to know her better. They are now business partners and Tinsley doesn't mix business with pleasure. Landon tells her that there is more and they agree to give it six months of friendship before seeing if there is something more. During the first couple of days Tinsley starts having problems coding in the office. Is someone trying to sabotage her and her new partners. Next Landan has a paternity suit filed against him. Can they makes things work? If you enjoy great intrigue this book and series is for you.

This series keeps getting better and better

While out celebrating the sale of her company, Tinsley sees one of the most breathtaking men she’s ever met. Needing to blow off steam and end her long drought, the two of them have a hot and heavy encounter in a coat room. They don’t exchange information and she never expects to see him again. When she’s waiting the next day to sign the sales contract, the owner that she has never met walks in. Guess who it is?

Landon knows that he deserves the manwhore title he’s been given. Even his sister has warned him about his wandering eye. He fully intends to hunt down the woman he met the previous evening. Never expecting to walk into the meeting to find her sitting right there. Is this a good sign or not? And why can’t they get her computer program to work on the company system?

Third book in this fabulous series but reads as a standalone...
I won't go into detail about this flawless page turner as there's a very good blurb description & previous reviews have it covered too. What I did enjoy was recognising a number of characters from previous books & it was compelling with strong main characters, lots of mystery & potential danger whilst the hero & heroine couldn't get enough of each other in & out of the bedroom...explosive! This is one of my top ten authors & once again, she nailed it. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.

No spoilers here. I know with Claire's books I won't be disappointed. The story line captivates the reader, flows smoothly from page to page and is great entertainment. Her characters are fantastic, each of them strong and well developed. You'll love getting to know the main characters and the supporting characters and how everyone feels like family when you've finished reading the last page. Highly recommend.

Ainsley St Claire writes another suspenseful adventure mixed with new business and boudoir partnerships that kept me immersed in the story long into the night.

Landon and his sister become partners with software developer Tinsley who has a unique translation product that they need to beat competitors to the market. All sorts of seemingly unrelated yet very disturbing roadblocks involving dead bodies, FBI, high tech hacking and numerous “what have yous” start happening and stress the already fragile relationship starting between Landon and Tinsley.

A common theme in all the books in the series is revisited in Montana. A dozen multi billionaires meet periodically for high stakes poker. This time Landon hosts at the ranch he won at the last meet up. The men and women all seem to become parts of smaller, mysterious plots including being suspects in a murder which has not yet been solved. The murder story runs through each book of the series and is one of the reasons I keep reading it - every little piece that gets added to Cecelia’s tragic murder keeps me thinking about what we will eventually find.

You will not be disappointed with the romance or steam with this pair. They have their rocky moments, but their passion is unwavering. You really don’t have to read the other books in the series, but you are going to want to. This one is another top notch read.

Sleight of Hand
By Ainsley St Claire
Main Characters: Landon and Tinsley
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
5 out of 5 stars
I loved the chemistry between these two characters. Tinsley owns a software company with a translation software program and Landon's company wants to buy it. Tinsley and her best friend Chrissy go to a bar to celebrate, now what could happen here? Tinsley meets a hot guy and one thing leads to another!! This is the 3rd book in the Tech Billionaire series, although you can read each book as a standalone. This book has a little of everything, love, lust, suspense, surprises, etc. Read I know you will enjoy it!

A very well written full length novel. It was instant attraction for Landon and Tinsley - how they met and met again was awesome! And their attraction to each other was hot and sexy. Their interactions with each other were sweet, hot and utterly captivating. This story was extremely entertaining as it had romance, intrigue, angst, mystery and seemed to be a suspenseful thriller at times. Sleight of Hand kept me interested from the first chapter until the last. I would highly recommend this story as I am putting it on my re-read list!

It was suspense rollercoaster with a lot of heat to burn my kindle... almost.
The storyline is on the tech side with characters whose brains work faster than fingers trying to put this in the words.
Has some suspense twists, stubborn lovers, corrupt officers and security guards that will put any opponents in check, jealous competition and stoker ex.
Perfect mix of business, family interaction and romance.
Enjoy reading.

Tinsley has just sold her company and celebrated by having a one night stand with someone she jsut met. Landon is her her new artner and when he realizes Tinsley is his new partner they attempt to maintain a professional and personal relationship. This story is great. There were unexpected twists, drama espionage, intrigue, and romance. The characters were engaging as always and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
