Emma is a journalist that isn’t afraid to seek out gritty stories. When she and her cameraman Rick are taken to meet the head of a cartel, Duende in São Paulo, there is a shootout, but Duende sacrifices his life to save theirs. Compelled to continue with her investigations, the next location is NOLA, where she meets Bam Bam, an MMA fighter but also an enforcer for another cartel. Bam Bam takes them into uncharted Ed territory and their lives are all on the line again. This was a really refreshing and different approach to this theme. The characters are interesting and the plot is intriguing. Brilliant.

The two books in this Series are very confusing. I started Dark Twist and it seemed from the beginning that there was a story that they kept alluding to that "maybe" should have been read before this book. As I started reading Book 2 in the Series, I realized that is contained the information I thought was missing. All that being said, I did enjoy Dark Twist as it combined a bit of Mafia, supernatural, romance and several other themes that all seemed to combine nicely to form this exciting story. As other reviewers stated, writing is choppy but I tend to think that was planned by the author. I will definitely read more books by this author.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the first book in the Twisted series. In this book, Emma is a journalist and was set in interview a drug lord, but his compound was raided and he got her to safety before he was killed. Now Emma is back in the US and hears about Jack, an enforcer for the mafia and she wants to interview him. Jack takes Emma around to different places and tries to show her some of his life. They have a connection and they soon things turn dangerous. This series has a bit of everything. There is a bit of the paranormal, some mafia danger and some romance. I like this series, i think it is different from other books and i look forward to reading more.
Dark Twist is a quick mafia read. I will say I felt confused for a good chunk of the story and I wish the characters had more time to develop. The action started right away and continues throughout. I think if it was longer, writing flowed more smoothly and we got more information it could be a great exciting read, the storyline is original. I understand this is a series and book 2 should clear somethings up.
I love dark romances. I was not sure if I would like mafia books. I love mafia movies and now mafia books.. It's a great book. I was pleasantly surprised by the book. It has everything a woman would want in a mafia book. Cute men, a little romance and a web journalist turned killer. Love that little twist. It's a must read!!

This is a very short read and I have to admit I wasn’t overly impressed with this book. The characters are ok but I never really got a feel for any of them. The plot had some twists and turns to it but I was glad it was a short book.

The jury is still out on this one. I'm reading Dilemma next. This book is not a stand alone. The characters are interesting, but I dont feel any connection to any of them yet. Lots of violence and danger. A hint of romance to come. Choppy writing. I got lost at times. We'll see.
I feel like I’m kinda lost like I missed a prequel book or something. It’s a good story line and there is so much potential there it hurts. I’m going to read the second book though because this one ends on a cliffhanger and I want to see what happens
I really loved this one. It really has some Dark twists and turns. It is a quick read. It has danger, violence, and a little romance. It ends with a cliffhanger! I hate that!
This was an ok read. A new author for me. And it was a quick, short read. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
I like this book & I believe there's going to be a strange twist to it. Lol. He's an enforcer for the mafia & she's a reporter ( soon to be more ?) Writing his story but things go awry . Lots of shootouts & of course blood
I am a new reader of Tana Blaise. This book was action packed very well written and page turning. Everything I look for was here storyline character development all of it spot on. Can't wait to read the next book.
