Curt and Mel
Mel was trying to protect her son from the life she and the boys father had and when Curt went to prison for killing someone she kept their son a secret tears later when the serial killer came after them it was time for Kurt to protect his whole family. The ending is shocking. I can't wait for the next book

Great end to the series.

He pulls the strings in prison or getting out, to control and kill others. A chance to kill him, saying she had it under control so didn’t. A lot of happening with an unusual ending.

The author masterfully weaves together multiple plot threads, creating genuine suspense as Dryden stays one step ahead of his pursuers. Series fans will appreciate callbacks to earlier books and a surprising cameo from the Peterson/Konrath universe.
While the story includes several deaths, they serve the plot and feel earned rather than gratuitous. The finale delivers a satisfying conclusion to the first four books in the series of eight.
