A ruthless Iraqi terrorist has spent years preparing a retaliation for the US invasion of his homeland. Even Nick Bracco, the FBI’s top anti-terrorist agent, feels vulnerable against the imminent attack on US soil. As Chicago appears to be ground zero for an explosive assault, he’s persuaded to call in renown psychic vigilante, Sarah Roberts. With the clock winding down, Sarah undermines the FBI’s tactics and resorts to using a distraught teenager to help their cause—an extremely risky move. If she’s wrong, Chicago will pay a heavy price. Can they find the Iraqi terrorist in time? Or will the body count be ten times higher than anything America has seen before? Warning: Do not read this book before bed.

This story with Nick and Sarah working together was well done. As in all of the other stories, Nick along with Matt is chasing a potential terrorist attack. Having very little to go on, he asked Sarah for assistance. The story involves members of an Iraqi terror group who are seeking revenge. The leader had his family killed when the U.S. first attacked.
The plan revolves around an event that will happen on Black Friday. To make matters worse, the group has a young boy who has been tasked with performing certain acts. To make sure that he does them, they have tortured his father and threatened to kill him if he doesn't finish the jobs. Sarah unknowingly meets up with the boy when he runs into her when she first arrived. She didn't know at that time who he was until later. She sensed something about him that gave her the impression he wasn't happy doing the jobs.
The second time that she ran into him, he had just finished killing another person. But for some reason, she and the team members were spared. After this happened, she later had an idea how she might get him to cooperate. Sarah plan worked, but the boy said he would only provide information if they were able to rescue his father. As in the past, Tommy, Nick's cousin, was able to find the location where the boy's father was held.
Nick meanwhile had a person who had provided the group information and this ultimately led to discovering what event was happening on Black Friday. To find out what the event was and whether they how they determined the only way that it could be stopped, then you must read this book.
The IRT has a big surprise planned for Chicago on Black Friday, as a payback for something that happened in 2003. A sixteen year old must perform certain things on time to keep his father alive, held by the IRT. But the FBI has a lot of resources in Chicago, as well as Sarah, who knows things because her dead sister tells her about these things in order to assist law enforcement. Confused? Me too. But, think possible dirty bombs, terrorists, NFL football games, gambling, GPS tracking, gay bars, gangs, murders, trains and helicopters. Does that help any? No? Well just read the book. It's pretty good.
Excellent book! I always enjoy reading a book created by two authors, working together and each including characters from their own series. This one is almost impossible to put down; the action never stops and the characters are a pleasure to see working together. 5 stars!
A good read. These men write well together. A little different than the Sarah series but she still did her thing and did it well. Exciting to the very end, love the final words.
Fast paced thriller. I was finished seemingly right after picking the book up! Different Nick Bracco book in that he was more in the background allowing other characters to step up. Really enjoyed!
Come along for the ride as a unique group of professionals try to thwart a terrorist attack. Fast paced with just enough down time for the reader to catch their breath. Great collaboration by two fabulous writers.
