Mac is head over heels in love with mean as$ Sonia. He desires to be her safe haven where she can let her walls down and feel safe releasing control, knowing that he has her. Sonia is a control freak and is extremely scared to release control to Mac and to allow him to love her. She is clearly in love with him, but the fear that she is incapable of loving him the way he deserves is winning. Together their physical chemistry is off the chain. Mac tries to communicate his love for her that way, hoping she will open up. Her fear wins. There is something deeper going on with Sonia and although this is a novella it was clear something in her past shook up her world and has her scared to love.

Sonia & Mac was an interesting combination...it seemed that Mac was moved to basically go after Sonia....However, something is holding Sonia back...she won't freely admit that she is in love with Mac...Mac is tired of her back and forth....I can't wait to see what happens next in their relationship. These two can’t seem to get on the same page when it comes to a serious relationship. After reading Demi and Greyson’s book in book 1, I NEEDED book 2 like my life depended on it. I’ve been in a sort of reading slump lately so that NEED to read a book excited me. Book 2 is Sonia & Mac’s story. I honestly don’t know who I like more, Greyson or Mac. Greyson would probably be the easier choice but there’s one detail about his situationship that’s keeping him from that spot. Anyway, Mac is crazy about Sonia. Totally in love with her. The sexual chemistry between these two is hot and undeniable but Sonia prefers maintaining control, doing things on her own terms and refuses to love Mac just because he confesses his love to her. That’s real and I feel that. I hope eventually we understand where those feelings of hesitation and need to hold back come from.

These two are a whole mess! Both control freaks, and neither willing to relinquish control for the love they both want. Mac is crazy about Sonia, and willing to do anything for her, but she has some demons lurking. I wonder what it is that has her so afraid to give in to a man, who she already thinks the world of! So, you leave us hanging with two couples now? I can't stand it! Mariah and Rahja? What the hell? How did that happen? Where the hell is Frankie? I need answers quick! 😃

Sonia was pissing me off lol. I kept saying, “Girl! Let that man love you! Damn!” 😂 I’m happy Demi gathered Sonia’s stubborn ass. Then Sonia gon have the nerve to catch an attitude because Mac wouldn’t hear her out when he let it be known that he’s really done with her BS. Like girl you had a year to tell this man what was going on with you and he’s asked you plenty of times to open up to him 😒 Right now, Sonia doesn’t deserve Mac. Mac seems like he’s a good man who wears his heart on his sleeve. Make him real and send him my way 😂

I love friend books. You know the ones that are introduced in the first book that intrigue you and then you continue to see them throughout a series. I absolutely love it! We met Sonja and Mac during Greyson and Demi’s book and I squealed once I saw that this book was about them. This is instaLUST x1,000, but Mac has legit caught feelings..even love for Sonja that she just cannot reciprocate for some reason. The love is there, but she’s got issues to face within herself as to why she feels she can’t give love in return. I’m intrigued to know just what happened in her life to make her protect herself this way. Deep wounds bring deep pain and I hope I get answers because Mac is a good man. He’s a bit of a bully, but in a good way😉.

What we learn early on, is that they’ve been in a relationship back home in Denver but are trying to keep it quiet for “reasons”. Mac wants a relationship but Sonia is dead set on not needing a man for nothing.
They have crazy chemistry, the sex is sexing and neither is left unsatisfied. But, until Sonia deals with her issues surrounding what a relationship could look and feel like, they’re at a stalemate.

It was able to capture the push and pull of the on again/off again “situationship” from these two headstrong individuals. This quickie was as filled drama, angst and a whole lot of spice. Unfortunately, the blow up happened and we were left with a cliffhanger. So, on to the next installment to see how the story continues to play out.
This was an immersive reading experience and the narrating powerhouses Wesleigh and Winston, brought the book to life

ok so this series has all the feels. hot scenes, alpha males who are vulnerable, strong-willed women who hold their own, and heart break. What a follow up to As We Lay. The drama amongst friends heats up between Sonia and Mac who's push and pull relationship is one for the record. I love stories where the couple is fighting for every inch of their relationship even if the fight is against each other. the cliffhanger had me torn on what I think should happen next. Mac is a good guy who deserves exactly what he asks for and I'm on the fence if Sonia is really ready to give it to him. Onto book 3!

This continuation is just as juicy and enticing with Sonia and Mac who are made for each other. The chemistry, the bond and closeness they share is so sweet, how he loves her is beautiful, but Sonia needs to get it together and figure her shyt out before there’s nothing left to figure out. Mac has the patience of Job, but I don’t know how longer that’s going to last of a man who knows what he wants.
Good read, great plot with enough if a cliff hanger to guide you to the next book…I’m enjoying this…a lot!

The series only gets better with every installment. After a year of dating on the low Mac wanted nothing more than to love Sonia publicly. However she fought him at every turn. Well, now that was an eye-opener, I did not think Sonia and Mac was already in a situationship. This just keeps getting better by the book. I’m not going to lie, Sonia got in my LAST nerve. She was entirely too bull headed and refused to let herself be loved. She is the type who felt like she didn’t need to have someone that she could survive without it but it was a man in front of her trying to give her the world on a platter. Her refusal to just let him be there for her was annoying. I pushed through because he was such an amazing character. It’s worth the read. They are good together but every time she pushed him away i saw red.
