'A cracking thriller series. Gordon Wallis' vivid descriptions blend seamlessly with all of the mystery, intrigue and high-octane action his readers love. Jason Green is a hero for our time. Absolutely riveting!'
Book 1: The Snowman Of Zanzibar
The azure waters of a serene tropical paradise hide a sinister and murderous criminal undercurrent. A dark secret exposed leads to appalling bloodshed and chaos. How did it all go so dreadfully wrong?
Ex-soldier Jason Green was depressed and had been drinking far too much. The endless London winter had been bitterly cold. The freelance insurance fraud work was mundane, but this changes early on a frozen February morning.
The wealthy client was desperate. Just how was his high-flying young son making so much money?
It sounded like a dream assignment. An escape from the city and a bit of travel. And for a while it was.
But on an idyllic island utopia, someone is watching, and a dangerous criminal cartel operates quietly in the shadows. As Green digs deeper he uncovers the truth, but a series of unfortunate events occur. Events far beyond his control. Events that result in unspeakable violence and horror.
The cartel must be stopped, but who will be the next to die?
The action builds to a frenzy in this gripping 1st in series page-turner and the profoundly shocking finale will stay in your mind for a long time.
A very, very long time...
Book 2: The Teeth Of Giants
In the most savage wilderness on the planet, the Chinese crime cartels ruthlessly slaughtered the Elephants for their Ivory. And nobody dared to cross them.
Could one man help to put an end to this horrific trade?
He was an old friend. His death was suspicious. At the least, ex-special forces soldier Jason Green had to return to Africa to pay his respects. He never intended to get caught up in the murky and barbaric world of the illegal ivory trade.
What had his ex-military buddy been doing that got him killed?
Could Jason unravel the mystery of his death?
In the blazing heat of The Zambezi Valley, someone is watching. The corrupt and powerful will stop at nothing to protect their business.
The deeper Jason digs, the more dangerous it gets. The risks are very real, the poaching syndicates must be stopped, but who will be the next to die?
The action is brutal and relentless in this riveting international crime epic.
Everyone wants justice and retribution. But sometimes true justice comes at one hell of a price.
Book 3: The Star Of The Desert
For millions of years, a bounty of unimaginable riches lay hidden deep within the scorched wastelands of the Namib desert. Diamonds. Some men cracked the earth to own them. Some men died.
For ex-soldier Jason Green, the job was unexpected but the brief was simple.
At the most remote diamond mine in the world, something was wrong. Badly wrong.
The insurance firm was deeply concerned. The running costs were enormous, the claims, suspicious.
What were the dark secrets that had been so carefully concealed?
Secrets buried as deep as the glittering stones themselves.
Jason Green uncovers the truth but his astonishing discovery sets off a chain of events that result in hideous violence and cold-blooded murder.
The architect of this horror must be stopped, but for Green, there are personal scores to settle.
The action builds to a frenzy in this ferociously fast-paced thriller, and the heart-stopping climax will leave you breathless.
Nail-biting, hardcore entertainment. Utterly addictive & unputdownable. The first three books of the global smash hit series in one specially priced boxset.
This is a collection of three novels. I wonder if this is what passes for cozy mysteries for men. My father prefered westerns and was a huge fan of Longarm and L'Amour. I liked the concept of these novels, especially the first one, which worked the most like a normal mystery. They were ok, the mysteries were fairly transparent with a lot of revenge killings for which there are no consequences.
i understand the drive to make things "right" that seems to drive Mr. Green. Something was working in these stories because I kept reading pretty straight through. There were some places where there was a lot of repetition in the language (same phrases repeated over and over) and it could have used one more edit mainly for typos.
Finally an adventure series that has a real sounding main character. He drinks he smokes and ,in short , is human. The hero has no special powers nor is he super smart or hugely intelligent. The stories are well thought out with the main character always achieving his goal. A modern thinking ‘woke’ reader will have trouble understanding why our hero behaves as he does but , fortunately, those of us who still remember how to think for ourselves and read adventure stories as children in the last century will appreciate his slightly lawless behavior. These books are tremendous reading for fat, old, men who remember life and tv in the old days when not everyone had to be politically correct to fit in.
Whereas the the books were interesting I found that the technical descriptions of boats and cars were very inaccurate and grated on me. The author needs to do more research regarding these subjects. An example is in all 3 books he describes placing a tracking device in the front wheel well of different vehicles which he describes as attaching with a magnetic clunk. The majority of vehicles, especially those to which the protagonist places a tracking device on, all have inner plastic fenders to which no magnet could attach. Another example is how he describes a heavy duty electric winch on a Land Cruiser as having nylon rope. In my experience all winches on vehicles have wire rope. It is these inaccuracies and others that detract from a good read.
This series started off somewhat slowly but gradually hit its stride and ended up pretty good reading. Some of the highlights for me were the wonderful descriptions of the African locations that made me wish I was still young enough and fit enough to actually visit them. The action was intense in parts and the "hero" somewhat flawed, which in a way made him more believable despite his almost superhuman ability to extricate himself from nearly impossible situations. All in all, excellent reading.
I wanted to give these books five star ratings since Gordon writes really well and his books are fast paced with convincing characters. The subject matter of the plots are also highly topical. However I would like to recommend to Gordon that the books will be significantly enhanced by an editor with a sharp eye for grammatical accuracy and correctness. But I shall definitely be getting more of his books!
Fantastic read, Gordon Wallis writes a compelling storyline. Definitely a must read, great pace, lots of intrigue. Great to meet the main character Jason Green and take rollercoaster ride of high stakes adventure as he takes on some really interesting but evil villains. Hurry with the next fascinating Jason Green adventure Gordon Wallis.
The fact that the setting for these books is Africa makes for interesting narrative. However I thought there was too much extraneous narrative. If Green ordered another English breakfast or fillet steak I thought I would scream. The guy smokes a lot for someone who does some amazing physical things. I will not read more from this series.
These 3 books were a thrill a minute read. The characters were well developed and you grow to care about each of them. There were many twists in the plot and the endings were satisfying.
Good enough storylines but the stilted writing style, poor grammar, missing commas and unnecessary capital letters make these books hard going. I read the first two but couldn't face wading through the third. This author desperately needs a copy editor.
I very much enjoyed the three books , I found them full of detail some use of modern technology was eye opening. Plots were a bit of a formula but believable. Enjoy,Enjoy,Enjoy..
When I first started reading this series on Jason Green insurance investigator, I wasn’t sure if I liked it. However, the more I read the more intrigued I became in this mans life. These books are very interesting and very good reading. Big D
A collection of three action packed thrillers, set in Africa. Jason Green is an insurance adjuster with an uncanny ability to get into and out of difficult situations. Very enjoyable.
This is a 3 book set. I read the first one--it was okay. I started the second one and couldn't get into it at all and decided to not complete reading all 3 books which is a less than 3 star rating on my scale.
I thoroughly enjoyed all three of these books. The adventure so clearly written the locations so expertly described. Clear lines between right and wrong. A New hero
Some adventures…very descriptive…..I was hovering between 3.5/4 As I like more violence and less description. But enjoyed these and found wanting to know what was next so very hard to,put down….
Gordon is very knowledgeable about Africa. These three stories kept me up a lot of nights. I suggest anyone wanting a good read to pickup this selection
