Great read. I loved this well-thought-out take on a post-apocalyptic future. It’s told from the viewpoint of Lexi, a divorced, middle-aged woman living in the UK and whose grown children have scattered around the globe. Her story gives the reader a mature insight into what could happen when a fatal virus spreads like wildfire killing 70% of the world’s population.

It’s a page-turner, but unlike the typical post-apocalyptical novel, this one is not full of gratuitous violence or teeth-gnashing zombies. Although there is a great deal to fear from a number of ugly and greedy people ready to take advantage of the situation, good people coming together to start over is the best defense and the beginning of a fascinating adventure.

This is the first book in a series. I can’t wait for book two.
