A man on the edge. The horse who won't let him fall.
Adam is on the verge of grief-induced insanity when a horse chooses him as a Bond-Partner and refuses to leave his side. He tries to rid himself of his unwanted companion as he has everyone else, but finds it more difficult than he could have imagined.
Just when it seems as though the horse has managed to find a way through Adam’s grief and bring him back to himself, Adam rejects him in the worst possible way, resulting in catastrophe. In order to save the horse who has tried so hard to save him, Adam must remember what his would-be saviour tried to teach him. And he must do it soon, before it is too late for both of them…
In Search Of Peace is a story of love, courage and friendship – and of how a bond with a horse can change everything. The book is a prequel to the popular The Horses Know Trilogy, and can be read before, alongside or after the books in the trilogy.
Lynn Mann is a writer with a long-standing involvement with horses, both personally and professionally. She lives in Shropshire with her husband and their two dogs, two cats and two horses. All of her animals are rescues, although they have, in their own way, each rescued her in return!
This is the most amazing story. It held me spellbound. Very difficult to put down and at times I had tears pouring down my face. It simply must be read. I have now started on the rest of the series which promises to be equally as good.
A different type of book than I usually read but absolutely riveting. It is the type of story that makes one think about life and lessons learned. Although a fantasy, the story captured your attention from the beginning. Will read it again at some point in the future.
This book confused me, and I still don’t know what I think. It wasn’t a paranormal book but not fantasy. It was a story about a very trouble man who meets a horse and they become bonded and cure the man. It is mainly about love and how it can cure. My inner critic kept scoffing but I couldn’t put it down.I really recommend this book. It is the first in a series and I have already bought the next 3
I enjoyed this story. I found it through a friend in fb, because she knows I love my horses. It’s more of a fantasy story about the relationship between a rider and the horse. I have to agree that every horse has his/her own personality and not every rider is meant for every horse. However the wisdom and quirky youth of this young horse helps to break through the barriers of grief and Anger Adam has put up against the world. This is really a book to enjoy and think about after reading it also.
His horse found Adam whether he wanted Jim or not. In the pit of anger , grief, despair due to the death of his wife and new born daughter for 3 years Adam had lost everything and made lots of people angry. But Peace came and help Adam to become the man he used to be and more. The journey is incredible.. You will enjoy it , your heart will be warmed by it. Great job. Thank you.
I've read the trilogy, the sequels and now starting on the prequels. Of all the books, this one makes me want to start all over. In this time of unheralded uproar to the world's peace, I think this book provides a guide to how we can start to deal with others' lashing out and vile speech and mistreatment of others. I wish so many others would read these books too. We desperately need the counsel. to
I found this tale to be full of hidden meanings and it hints at the strength a relationship with a horse can provide. A great read that touches on the amazing love that can exist between a human and a special horse.
These books are so well written and are thought provoking. Having shared my life with several great horses, it is rare to find something written that is so on point. Very emotional experience as are the very best things in life.
Just reading this and drawing the parallels of where human kind is going today and what the likely outcomes are, one can only hope that those who go on find the help needed in wisdom of balance with all that is.
Adam and Peace’s story resonated very deeply with me because I saw so much of myself and my horse in this book. Definitely a tear jerker and a sweet ending. I love the flow and the pace she tells this story.
I can’t begin to describe how these books affect me. I get such a feeling of peace, content to be who I am & the hope of carrying these feelings with me. These stories are so powerful if you delve into the meanings of them. I will be reading them over & over. They make it easier to find my soul.
It was just... phony. Felt like the author went to a seminar, took notes, and made it into a book. No meaning to it. I(I'm not even twenty) could have written something that 'sage' and it would have been as fake as this. This author is far from paramahansa yogananda, but she thinks she is. She just sounds like she's showing off how very wise she can be. Felt like a literal show off, nothing more. Fake wisdom isn't wisdom and that's how I felt about this. In all honesty, as an author, I think it could have been a lot better and still been a story about finding peace. I was disappointed and did not want to read the next one. If someone was in the same position as Adam I don't think this book would have helped him or her all that much.
