On Earth, 12 female college students board a starship for A Year of Interstellar Education. Crashing on a primitive planet inhabited by barbarian aliens was not on their itinerary...

There are worse things than being worshipped by a Rakui, right?

You know the old saying, 'No good deed goes unpunished'? Turns out, it's true. When Alana and I try to rescue our college students from a primitive planet, our plan backfires. Now we're stranded on UD237 with the girls and Earth Gov has turned us into test subjects, too.

And that's not all. Reyzon, the hot, scaled alien who saved my life, says I'm his mate. I want to believe him, but what I'm feeling isn't real. Earth Gov injected me with a symbiont that's manipulating my biological urges.

To be honest, the intensity of my feelings for him scares me. I've never felt this kind of unbridled lust, let alone the heart-tugging beginnings of love. It's hard for me to even wrap my head around that possibility, simply because we just met.

Reyzon tells me he's a patient male and will wait for me to realize what his heart already knows: that we belong together forevermore. And after a single kiss that leaves me breathless, I start to wonder if he might be right.

Final Review (7/22/2022): Reyzon is the third book in the Rakui Warriors series by Lena Grey and Juno Wells. I read book 1 -Trauhn in April of 2020 before deciding to finish out the series this year by reading and leaving a review of book 2 - Remmel in January and closing out the series as written by reading this one.

This is a run of the mill alien romance set on an uninhabited planet. Where this failed to grasp me, is in the characterization and writing of the titular character, Reyzon . As a result of the language divide, I could more understand while earlier books in the series had the heroes seem simplistic in their language abilities. However, as the women now have access to translation through technology… There is no excuse for the characterization of Reyzon to remain so simplistic. Societies are always complex so it doesn’t make sense that from Reyzon’s own mind there wouldn’t be an explanation for cultural things.

Jenn one of the mysterious professors who had hired mercenaries to find the girls was bound to be an interesting character. I think she was a decent heroine. I enjoyed how she was more tentative and careful in her approach to bonding with Reyzon. Unlike Jillian with Remmel, Jenn didn’t cause any unnecessary drama because of failing to communicate. Her reluctance was portrayed in a more realistic way. This does fall into the virgin heroine & hero trope which sometimes annoys me but it felt more natural in its portrayal. Jenn doesn’t keep her Vcard out of concern for purity but for wanting to bond wholly with that person.

This does end on a dramatic cliffhanger which sucks because this was published in February of 2021 and there is still no fourth book. For that I would say, hold off on reading the entire series until it is finished. I’m not sure if the authors are burnt out on the story or just disinclined to continue in favor of other projects. This leaves a lack of closure to the narrative that will likely bug many readers.

2.5 stars with a generous round up.

Cover: 🥕🥕
🐰 Simplistic
Title: 🥕🥕
Story: 🥕🥕🥕
🐰 Reyzon and Jenn
The two traitorous professors who we learned at the end of the last book had the mercenaries searching for the girls have somehow ended up on the same planet.
What the FLUFF!
🐰 This is a lot shorter than the first two. It feels rushed and has many similarities to the first romance; the cave and the water spot.
Quotes
🐰 "Xvar seems friendly," I say.
🐰 "Pay him no mind," he says. "Given the chance, he will talk and talk and talk. Then you will miss the meeting with the other females."
🐰 If you perish before the suns rise, I may have to join another male under the furs," I tease.
🐰 A growl rumbles up from his chest and he holds me tighter in his arms. "If I agree not to perish, you must agree to never speak of joining with another under the furs."
First Page Nibble
🐰 I feel like I'm being followed, even though I'm certain I left the military base without being seen. A quick glance over my shoulder doesn't soothe my nerves. Just because the street looks deserted doesn't mean there's nobody out there.
I pull down the hood of my long, black cloak, shielding more of my face. Not that it will help. The seedy, crime-riddled Zone 4 is locked down for the night. If someone is following me, I'm easy to track because I'm the only one dumb enough to be out after curfew.

Just when you thought you could trust your military and the earth government and what you believed in, they change the rules and innocent lives are dismissed and lost but all is not as it seems. Professor Jennifer Jacoby and professor Alana have discovered that the 12 earth women sent on the educator starship for a year to learn is a lie and with an encrypted file now open they learn the true about the women being sent to the planet UD237 where there is an alien race the Rakui that has only a few females and the government wants to experiment with and repopulate the two species so they have kids and then take them away. There is a lot more going on in this story and the characters are amazing and Reyzon saving Jennifer and becoming mates made it a great read, so what happens to them all I cannot wait to find out as each story unfolds.

Still liked background activities, blah main characters

Sigh. Didn't like this as much as the previous book. I remember having some of the same problems... such as the male main character sounding dumb with his limited vocabulary and simplistic focus. Also the overarching plot is senseless: all female space ship forced to mate with all male alien barbarians, civilization sucks, yay devolved jungle life.

However, I am impressed by the ingenuity of the female characters and their persistence in solving the mysteries and how to save their people. I am relieved by the honor and respect paid to females by the male barbarians. And the barbarians aren't dumb; they're just learning a second language and culture. Moreover, they are honorable and honest, restrained despite being in rut from finding their fated mates. And they're the bare remnants of tragedies. Yeah, this subverts several too-popular tropes that I hate so much. And that's why I'm sticking with this series.

Despite my griping, I appreciate the way the barbarians regard the refugee females, and that they work together. There are so many 'romances' where the women would've been abducted, enslaved, raped, then fallen in love with their rapists. Nope, not interested! So, the fact that the barbarians wait for the females' consent and reciprocation, that they want equal partners instead of submissive slaves... Yes, give me more of this dynamic! I'll read another in this series as long as it keeps delivering mutually respectable love matches.

The writing and editing of the ARC version of the manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and well constructed sentences. The world building was minimal, with this alien world and culture not coming to life for this reader. The characterization was competent, with the hero and heroine both being sympathetic individuals, if not especially nuanced. The development of the romantic relationship was sweet and hot, with a heat level of three chili peppers. The plot was kind of minimal but the pacing was very quick. There was low angst and high stakes in this novel, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel used the Mars Needs Women trope and the Crash Landed trope. The world building was two stars. The plot and pacing were both three stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship were also three stars. I therefore gave this novel a combined rating of three stars. This novel ended on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger ending, so that was a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who are looking for a quick, undemanding sci-fi romance. I don’t think I will read the next book in this series, and I will not buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

I received a copy from Booksprout; this is my honest review
-You absolutely need to read the previous books before this one; you will understand what's happening and what's important if you do.
-I was really not happy with the ending of the last book because it brought us to this one. I didn't like Jennifer based on what the 12 ladies said about her; why would she get her HEA while the 12 others had problems because of her? This book completely changed my mind.
-More details and explanations, more about the rogues and mercenaries, more about why they landed where they did. The culture shock is utterly funny. Loved how Jenn turned her vision to 20/20.
-Not too much drama between Reyzon and Jennifer. Not too much talking either! This one is more insta-lust, insta-love than the other two.
-I thought it was so sweet the way Reyzon wanted his hut to be acceptable for Jenn. Jenn got a bit childish but quickly realized Reyzon had good reasons to be wary of the storm.
-Of course there's a bang at the end! I don't think any of the books have gone without and I love it.

Jenn is one of 12 female college students on a starship planning to spend a year on interstellar education, which they later find out through encrypted files was actually a top secret military experiment. When a solar storm causes them to crash on a primitive planet inhabited by Rakui Warrior barbarians, Reyzon saves Jenn and knows immediately that she is his mate. Jenn, however, is not convinced. She figures the government injected her with something that was messing up her responses. Would Reyzon be able to convince her otherwise? Will he show her that they really are destined for each other?

This is Book 3 of the Rakui Warriors series, and it’s still going strong! The characters are very personable – loved their chemistry! The story line moved with good pacing to keep the reader invested in their story. And with this new group of alien stories, the possibilities are endless, at least until all 12 ladies find their mate!

This is the third book in the series but this is the first I have read. You are able to pick up the story easily and there is enough information given along the way that you don't feel lost by what went on before, just curious. Jenn has gone in search of her "lost"; students and acttion which lands her and her fellow teacher, Alana in the same place. Turns out the girls were found by the Rakui and some have formed forever bonds with these warriors. Reyzon practically feels Jenn's arrival and knows she is for him. Jenn has been implanted with a symbiont and some tech which leaves her doubting how she actually feels for him.

This story is an exciting read. The Rakui males see these women as gifts. 12 women dumped on a little known planet after an emergency. When their professors start looking deeper into what happened, they are captured and sent to the same planet. When Reyzon rescues Jenn he immediately knows she is his mate. Jenn denies her draw to him, assuming it has to with drugs she is being pumped with by the Earth Gov. Can Reyzon convince Jenn to accept this is her new home and they are meant for each other? Will the women discover why they were abandoned on this particular plant? Each story is about a different couple but you must read the others to get the overarching story.

I liked this story very much. It was well-written, intriguing plot and I loved the characters. It's so great when the author can incorporate the other characters from the books before this one. Reyzon happens to save Jenn. He knows right away that Jenn is his mate but she's not so sure. She thinks that whatever Earth Government injected her with is what's messing with her hormones. I love how patient Reyzon is waiting for Jenn. The story has adventure, mystery, and hot steam. Can't wait to read the next book. "What do you say to a guy who proclaims you’re a gift from the gods?"

Reyzon is certain the crashed wingless flyer contains a gift from the gods. When the Rakui hunters accidentally open it Alana and Jenn are inside, and one look at Jenn tells Reyzon he was right.

Jenn and Alana were teachers on a venture that turned out to be anything but what they were told, and trying to set things right has landed them in the last place they expected.

This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read tackled trusting your instincts/gut, trusting other people, betrayal, and felling torn in half by internal conflict, all very relatable aspects of life.

The Rakui Warrior Series has captivated this reader with Reyzon. This action packed novella is worth every penny! I have not read the previous books but I was certainly able to glean the back stories of most of the characters. The plot is well written and filled with questions about how the earth women came to be on their new planet. You receive answers but still have more uncertainty about where this series will take you and I like that. It’s a different and inventive storyline in this genre. Enjoy❤️❤️❤️

The story tells the tale of Reyzon and Jenna. It's an inst-love tale where unlike the other books in the series the heroine starts out on Earth not on the far away alien planet. Jenna must deal with perhaps never returning to her old life and the feeling that what she is feeling might be more influenced by science than her own will. The story is short but complete and adds new layers to the developing story line.

Jenn struggles at first when she and Ariana wake up on UD 237, because she's convinced that they need to get off the planet even though the attraction between her and Reyzon has been building. She's spent her whole life on the outside peeking in, not feeling that love was in the cards for her. Reyzon knows that Jenn is his mate if only she will give him a chance to prove it. Worth the wait, loved the characters and the story progression. Liked the backstory and the action and adventure.

This book 3 of 3 in the Rakui Warriors Series is a well-written story with amazingly well crafted characters. These wonderfully written characters, flaws and all, will make you feel their emotions and make you want to root for them to make the connection. They have wonderful chemistry and personalities. It is a fast-paced and standalone book that will keep you engaged from start to finish. I cannot wait to read more from this author

I couldn’t resist but know what really Earth Gov is panning and what is next for the 12 girls that were stranded on the planet.

The Rakuis live a simple life aliens and they know what is truly important. Reyzan is fierce in his belief that amen is his mate, and it is quite amazing that he sought the advice of his fellow Rakuis on what to do with Jenna. His seduction proved to be productive, in more ways than one.

Third time’s the charm

Yeah, it’s another human woman-alien male fated mate romance. Yeah, it’s got some heat. But hold on - cuz it’s also got human female “bad guys” and nasty government “secret projects” and those evil mercenaries were actually the good guys, and the “barbarian” tribe actually let their AI download their language into the humans’ microchips so there is ACTUAL conversation in the dialogue instead of the “me Tarzan you Jane” nonsense... Do you get that this book - number 3 in the series - is worth reading? Good. Now, go read it!

This is a good book with action right from the beginning. A woman is dropped into a whole new world. This was the third book in a series I haven't read the other two but i didn't need them to enjoy this book. It is a stand alone HEA with no cheating. I will be looking for the other two to read simply because I enjoyed this one so much. It also contains quite a bit of teasing and heat.

Good

A trip back to the Rakui world introduces two new women into the mix. The two professors that had been on the ship, end up on the Rakui planet, and Jenn is immediately claimed by Reyzon, a Rakui warrior.

There are more secrets revealed, lessons learned, and a few plots discovered in this exciting sci-fi romance.
Recommended for those whose enjoy sci-fi romance of the alien kind.

Great series

The series has a lot of possibilities. I thought the heroines concerns were valid but she didn't let them paralyze her. The hero was sweet. I worry that they still don't have enough genetic material for another generation. The existing mates need to have kids as well. I also am interested in unlocking the secrets behind their special ore and protecting their kits from Urth. Either way I want to continue reading.

Well Jenn was a bit better than the last one, but I can’t see where this is going, Earth is miles ahead of the Rakui in everything especially numbers , so when they send troops to do what they planned I can’t in all honesty see the Rakui being able to stop them zero technology.
