Book 2 of the novella spinoff series I thought was better and more actioned packed than book 1. I enjoyed our mage getting time with our Qilin (he always makes it steamy and fun haha) and getting to see our dragon, lion shifter, and merman make an appearance again was fabulous, I missed them in book 1! I am super intrigued by the dark part of Carlyle randomly making appearances, I hope the guys start mentioning it to each other and not keeping it secret 🤦🏼♀️. It was cool to see her realizing she needs to allow her light and dark self mix or it could mean bad things in the future, that her different magic need to mix. My head keep spinning with the prophecies and I think that was more of it being an audiobook instead of reading it on my own. I thought the one future knowledge drop that had everyone turning their heads was well placed. Like I am imagining these adorable mixed babies running around haha.
Narration was great, I love that Lucas is so amazing with his accents and moving fluidly between them (or at least making sure there arent errors) in these spinoffs. I think the performance with the oracle was a little shaky for the narrators, but only critique I could give, everything else was fantastic.

Why did i let my friends see this
The spice in this has warped my friends' views of me for sure. Holy heck is she insatiable in this book. But overall, i really thought these novellas were going to be the group being happy, but now they've got this whole darkblood thing to figure out and more riddles and its just too much. And now theres the threat of pregnancy?? Like she was a strong girl who didnt think she wanted kids but now the decisions being taken away from her in the future because of some prophecy!! I hate that!!

I love how this story just picks up and continues where the main series left off. These characters that we have grown to love never disappoint. I cant wait for more of this series to come out!

A decent continuation of the series. I was a bit put off with her attitude in this one. Some of it just didn’t seem to mesh with the Queen we’ve come to know. So it kind of pulled me out of the story and I didn’t really enjoy most of this one.

funny and sexy
The quilns love and adventure continues with two of my favourite characters the mage and the vampire, both completely different men who can fill the imagination easily, an easy read just let your imagination run wild, off to look for the next adventure 👍

Captivating

I love so much coming back to this world. Carlyle and her boys are my favorites. It was so hard when we got to Piece of Qilin and I thought it was over.
These baby honey moons are my favorite! And I love how each of the boys will get their moment. We thought it was all over at the end of the series-- but really, we solved one problem. The bigger problem is still there and it will take ALL of them to solve the riddles.
We end this book with more questions than answers and Carlyle is getting frustrated. She's the key to all of it and the only one who can solve it.
The sexy times are steamy as can be and her guys are always there for her.
I love this series so hard and I loved another glimpse into this world.
I know we can't live with them forever but I neeeeed more. So excited there are more Sugar Bites to look forward too.

Never expect anything less from Laurel Chase ornthsi series! Absolutely jaw dropping! The chemistry is smokin! The mystery is tight. And the twists are enough to leave you breathless. Just another day in our Qilin's wild world. I cant wait for the next sugar bite. Need me some Lion and Mer sugar next!

A perfect sweet little bite is what this is. Carlyle continues her quest to be the Queen that Haret needs with the help of her men. Paris, sexy times and a dash of darkness mixed with the mystery that they are trying to investigate - it's just the right size to dip into, enjoy and crave some more. Perfection!

As usual, 5 stars! I would give more if it was an option.... I'm still so immersed in this land thay Laurel has created and wish it were real!! Heck, I wish I was a qilin too!
This Sugat Bite follows directly on from Mint Freeze where Carlyle accidentally on purpose shanked the scheming Leprechaun who may or may not have been needed again. So off Jai and Dair go on a wee adventure to Paris, the city of lurveeeee. But don't let your minds wander! Its strictly business ;). They meet an Oracle who adds to the ever confusing prophesy. And what is going on with Kills' brothers!!! Read it fellow bibliophiles and love it as much as I do! But Dair and Killian are still mine!!!

The twists and turns throughout this story are pulling us in deeper and deeper. It is a addictive and gripping story that has you so involved and intrigued that you are trying to figure out the riddles. It is extremely well written and of course the characters are as amazing as always. The descriptions in the story are stunning and allow you to see so much in the story. I absolutely love the series and the characters. This series is a must read and I can’t wait to read the next one to see how it continues. This is absolute must read!!!!!!
