Apple: Loving My Fiancé's Sister: Arresting Temptation Book One

Rate this book
I wanted her. There was no other way to put it. I was trapped by her voice the moment I heard it. I thought there was no way a voice that beautiful and husky could belong to someone equally beautiful. I was wrong… dead wrong. She was brilliant with her vibrant dark skin that rivaled the chocolate river. Her near-black eyes so seductive they made my knees buckle. I can’t forget her lips that smiled at me such voluptuous promises of delectable kisses. By fucking God, I WANTED her! Willow Daniels breathed life into me when I didn’t know I needed it. She made this wealthy and cowboy from the great state of Texas throw every precious moral I held dear out the window. I was hungry and wanted a taste of that rich dark chocolate. I was thirsty and in need of a drink of her essence. From the moment I locked eyes with her, I was a goner. Forbidden? It never crossed my mind. I’m a man who always gets what he wanted, come hell or high water. It became mine if I so desired, and Willow won’t be any different. I’ll have her regardless of her being my fiancé’s sister.

Liked this book a lot but....

The editing in this book was not good at all. Several times I had to reread a sentence or paragraph to make sure I read what I was reading. I hate to say that because I truly loved this book otherwise, Willow and Bennett were it for me from their first meeting and I just loved how they came together after all they had to endure from others. A good book and I can't wait to read Sterling's story now...

My Goodness

I don’t leave a lot of review usually when I’m not a fan of someone’s writing. I was raised with the saying, “If you don’t have nothing nice to say then be quiet.” That’s what I was going to do but then I thought this author is probably attempting to make this her career so help in a way that’s not catty. So here it goes!
First, the characters were very poorly developed. Not one had any meat to them. You have a supposed insecure billionaire who’s afraid of conflict but wants to act like an alpha male every other second. The heroine is a punching bag for her mother and sister with no sense of self preservation with an oblivious father that loves her but can’t see the damage done to his child.
Second, the flow of this book was all over the place and dizzy. There was no cohesiveness at all. It seemed that the writer did not develop a road map or plan that made sense. Yes this is fiction and the imaginings of this author but if you’re going to share with others it has to flow in order to keep us engaged.
Lastly, the editing for this book was not done or was just poorly done. Either way it was a struggle at best to read with the lack of editing alone. As a author I understand the need and want to put out your work but before you do invest in your work and yourself and put your best foot forward.
Overall, the story has promise and with some reworking would be top notch but I don’t see myself reading anymore of this author’s work.
I hope this is was her first book and she continues to improve in her craft.

Colorism

Willow suffered from colorism and abuse at the hands of her mother and her twin sister. From the time she was born, she was made to feel inferior because she was not as light skinned as her sister. She had a loving relationship with her father, however he did not appear to be aware of the horrible way she was being treated even though he was in the house with them. Reluctantly, Willow attends her sister’s engagement party. Willow has a torrid sexual encounter with an unknown man named Ben. She soon finds out that the man whose name was screaming is her sister’s billionaire boyfriend. Audrey, the evil sister, painted an inaccurate portrait of Willow to Ben. Ben is almost instantly in love with Willow but being a coward and not wanting to rock the boat he continues his engagement to Audrey while trying to defend Willow as much as possible. But this is too little and not enough. Like many of Miss Marie’s male characters, Ben is an over-the-top alpha male with vulnerable tendencies. He almost loses Willow by not acting fast enough and has to truly grovel to get her back. Willow is a strong and resilient woman and I believe she deserves better than Bennett Abraham Lincoln. From their first encounter, Willow is pregnant with twins. Once Ben gets his silly head together he whisks Willow to Texas. Spencer’s story is next and then Tracy and her god son...Lord have mercy😁😁😁😁
I love how the characters keep reappearing. Did Adam have a story?

This book might not be for everyone however, I actually enjoyed the overall story. This story follows Willow and Bennet often times referred to as Ben. Willow has been asked to come more like expected to her twin (fraternal) sister engagement. Now there are some really complicated dynamics between Willow her mother and twin mostly stemming from colorism and just plan old fashion jealous. Upon going to said party she has a mind blowing sexual encounter with a stranger who you guess it is Ben. The fiancé of her twin sister. From the instance of watching her dance Ben has one thought MINE.

I want to be clear how these two start isn't right and is cheating despite how much of a b$cth that her sister is. Having said that I still was able to connect to Willow's plight. The ridicule that she endored at the hands of her mother, sister, and grandmother was heartbreaking but let's be real there are some real Willows out in there facing the same thing and I hope that if they read this they realize they don't have to have that toxicity in their lives. I would recommend this book but ill say this to you don't go in saying WHAT YOU WOULD DO but see Willows story a hurt women in search of love.

On a side note Rose Marie knows how to write some steamy love scene lord have mercy 🔥🔥🔥

Great Book

I think this author did a great job of telling a live story between a black woman and her Alpha male. She pointed out the colorist issue that is very predominant in the black community and the ignorance that follows. There was a reader that stated that the use of Daddy is unnatural and does not define an Alpha male. Please educate yourself if reading BDSM materials and stop being as ignorant as the awful villains in this story. Do not judge what people do or say if they both agree it is what they Chose. I liked the fact that the black woman was not raped but did still have triggers for me since my skin tone is dark and features very predominant to show my African heritage. However, the live story was great and damn the editing because it was a great love story. I loved the heroine in the story embraced help blackness and allowed her Alpha Daddy to love her like a the Queen she was in his eyes. I may not call a man Daddy but never met one who deserved that title. So please follow this author and Buy the damn books. I can't want to see the O'Sheas again especially Carter who I hope ends up with Mason and Leah.

Awesome!

I have read this book over and over and I still love it til this day. It has the right amount of romance, drama and negativity. It speaks about skin tone and how people can be so cruel and insecure. Trying to make themselves feel better by putting others down. We can not help who we love but only rectify the mistakes that we have made. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder it's more than skin deep. The ugly on the inside will tint the beauty on the outside turning you ugly from the inside out, that's what Audrey was in the book. Rose Marie is an excellent author trust me you definitely need to go to her page and read all the books. When I tell you she turns up the steam baby, she turns it all the way up. My favorite go to books are Irish Don Black Beauty, Daddy's Little Secret, Obsession, Who's Your Daddy, Obsession you know I like them All!!!

Liked the story

I really liked the plot but in this book the spelling and grammar were really bad, it was distracting. Also multiple times, I got confused as to who was talking sometimes and the spelling of fiancée was spelled wrong throughout the entire book. The word fiancé is spelled different for females and males (fiancé-males and fiancée-females). I would rather have a little more description of what everybody looked like and I thought the sex scenes and when they first sex was strange, weird, and a bit much. Other than that the book was really good and even though I don't condone cheating, I did not feel bad for Audrey. She was a despicable and vile piece of crap and I'm glad that Bennet and Willow got their hea.

This was... entertaining, I'll give you that. Not the best with all the typos and jumping from scene to scene but not the worst as it made sense throughout. From that start, I guess I was expecting it to be more... not explicit but more angsty with the mains wanting each other but unable to resist. It kind of fizzled and became meh. IDK, that's just my opinion as others have seemed to LOVE it.

One thing that seemed off and wasn't resolved in my eyes is the friend Bailey and their friend Todd. Seemed too friendly but apparently it was nothing? I would have loved it if the sequel focused on them instead of the racist friend.

Plugging yourself in your own book- smart shit right there 😆 I don't know if I'll read the sequel as of right now...

Mixed feelings

I hate how they got together, but I really appreciate Willow for standing up for herself. There were some slip ups that I really want to roll my eyes at, but I’m glad she wasn’t one of those girls comfortable being a mistress. I’m glad she had some self respect. I’m also glad Ben’s momma talked some sense into him because he was being a coward.

On another note, Willow’s family sucked! I can’t believe there are really people out there like that. I’m not naive about colorism, but to see it so strong in a family is astounding. I couldn’t believe what I was reading.

Yeah, no

I only finished this book because I had gone so far hoping it got better... it didn't. I didn't like Willow she was too weak and one dimensional, Ben was irritating and outside of his "package size" and his money, an alpha he is not. He was weak also. Audrey was ignorant. The mother was horrible and the father, he was just self absorbed with rose colored glasses on that is the only way he could possibly not see how Willow was hurting.

I am a fan of this author, but in this story it feels like she allowed a 12-14 yr old write it. It didn't seem like her work at all. Read at your own risk but you have been warned.

What's in the dark.....

The story catapults you into a world of betrayal, forbidden love, deceit, colorism, and passionate sex scenes. You won't be able to put the book down. I cringed at some of the derogatory and racist words from individuals. But,I can relate to some of what
Willow dealt with. But, I KNOW I would have beat that twin's a**. I don't agree with what Ben & Willow took part in, but he could have taken the initiative to end the relationship faster with him being a billionaire.

Dodged a Bullet!

Where to start? You meet a man , are drawn to said man, have sex with that same said man. Then you go downstairs and fine out that same man is your twin sister’s man , that’s just the beginning! The scary thing is to have someone dislike you for the color of your skin, hair , your intellect , and all that you do, then have them be related to you. How unthinkable is that, but it can happen. But Audrey got her comeuppance not once, but twice. Very nice touch!

Warning: This book involves cheating. That is primarily what I had trouble with. Doesn't matter how awful the author paints the sister the hero is actually engaged to as, there was no good reason for him to still be with her after he declares he's in love with the heroine. He basically does have his cake and eats it too. It's pretty smarmy. So, for that reason, I would say this is just an ok read. I didn't like that he kept things going with both sisters and wasn't honest. One thing I did like was the addressing of color issues within the Black community. Light skin versus Dark skin, etc. I mean, some of the words and thoughts exchanged here between the heroine's family and her were pretty extreme, but still it drives some points home.

Justice (lol!)

I do not condone infidelity, but given the circumstances in this story, it was warranted. I grew up in the south during the time that Blacks judged each other on the basis of skin color. It is so sad that we still use this against each other. Willow was such a sweetheart she deserved any happiness she obtained. And I was delighted when Audrey got what she deserved. Look who got the last laugh. A reminder to be careful how you treat people. An enjoyable read.

And the push over Award goes to… Mrs.Marie

I like the story, but I hated how Rose was such a push over. And the nerve of this woman to say she was a strong black women until the sister’s fiancé. Girl bye. You were never a strong black woman to begin with. You are a push over who doesn’t correct her family. She always apologizes and explaining herself. It gets sicken when her family says or do racist and colorist things and she doesn’t correct them at all. She just takes it, but talks so much in her head.

Wow

This was a different read for me the author covered A topic that is felt in a lot of homes where 1 sibling is lighter than the other and the darker sibling is subject to mistreatment
I believe she touched on that beautifully the FMC finally got a backbone midway into the book the coming together between the FMC and the MMC now that was a twist And like a review I read prior this book may not be for everyone but I did enjoy it, there are some editing parts but the spice was 🔥🔥

Cheating:enjoyable read.

There is cheating on this book; not doggish; however, it was cheating..The author manages to walk that very fine line and I actually cheered for the couple because the other woman was seriously bad. Needlessly drawn out with characters for subsequent books with an over the top H who took too long to resolve relationships? I think cheating might be a theme for this author.

What's done in the dark...

Willow met Ben without even knowing his name at her sister's engagement party! He saw Willow and he couldn't keep his hands or other body parts to himself. Later she found out it was her sister's fiance'. Willow was horrified and ashamed however she couldn't stay away from Ben. Colorism kept willow away from her mother and sister they treated her like trash. Was she paying her sister back with this deception or was she really falling in love!

Finding Love in a Mysterious Way

I'm glad that everything worked out for Willow and Ben(Bennet). It goes to show that you may not find your true love in the most conventional way. Life is not always cookie cutter which you read in this book. I enjoyed every chapter. I will say that there are some triggering elements in the book especially when it comes to skin color and just being black.

There are some grammatical issues, but it does not take away from the book.

I just don't believe things happen quite as fast as they did with these two! I do believe that everyone will enjoy reading this book! I definitely will recommend it to others!

So MANY TYPOS!

I found this book difficult to read and almost backed out at 10% with the amount of typos and wrong wording in this book. Some of the phrases used during the sex scenes were super corny and the amount of "tsking" people did was outlandish. I read the full book. It was alright. I wouldn't read it again and I also won't continue reading from this author.

Okay read

It was a pass the time read. Her dad is great, but he never saw how the wife treated his daughter? Willow is riding the bus to and from work, but after she faints at work and is released from the hospital, she drives home in her car. When did she get her car back? Willow and Ben do get their HEA, but it is not a smooth ride.

Ben and Willow

I loved this story. Ben was dropping the ball on this one, and I felt I had many opportunities to break things off with Aubrey. Ben and Willow click, and both are down to earth. I love how other characters I read are tied into this book. I believe you will enjoy reading all the characters' stories.

Couldn’t put down.

I love Rose Marie books, so it came as no surprise that I loved this one too. The characters were hot, the intimate scenes hotter.
Looking forward to the next books...

Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars was because of all the typos...

Wow

This was a lot and kind of didn't seem really plausible but it was fun to fantasize along with it. I think the male character was more dramatic than the female character which was refreshing to watch unfold.

Good Book

Willow a lovable person. Her family her sister and her mother made me so mad. Ben know he was wrong for messing with Willow knowing he was engaged to her sister Audrey. Happy Ben realized he loves Willow and wanted only her. Willow deserves to be happy.

I wanted to like this story a lot. The cheating in this story made my stars stay at a four. I wasn’t captivated by either the h/H. It still was a decent story overall though. It opened the door for introduction to other characters which is always a bonus.

One word: Cray

This story was so ridiculous that I couldn't put it down. All common sense screamed DNF! But I'm a closet masochist. That's all I got and now the masochist in me just one-clicked Sterling's story. Yeah, I'm sure I need therapy...
