In the pages of Stunned by Grace, you’ll find real, lasting peace of mind so that you’re no longer walking on eggshells, trying to do more and be enough. The precious gems of truth contained within this book are an absolute rarity. You'll be convinced that Father God likes you and is for you!
I think the anticipated audience for this book is someone who has previous experience with the Christian Church and came away thinking it was a list of dos and donts; a way to earn right standing with God or work to maintain favor. I am thankful that I don't fall into that camp, so although I didn't always resonate with the tone of the book, the content is always a needed refresher.
I’d recommend this book to anyone who has experienced their life in Christ as difficult, wearying, restless, deprived, constantly hungry and thirsty. It’s time to rest. It’s finished. It’s for freedom that we’ve been set free. He whom the Son sets free is free indeed. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free!
If you are weary of trying, stressed by all the interruptions and demands of life, this is a simple but profound book on grace. You’ll find that God doesn’t want rule-followers but Christ lovers. Learn to abide in him and be free.
The emphasis on grace is excellent and necessary but lacks the balance of explaining what it means to follow Christ. The author puts aside the law in seemingly all forms, as well as downplaying the importance of the Word, and offers no clear explanation as to how a believer knows right from wrong as they follow Christ. There are several places where it feels he should have been more careful with his words and taken the time to add some clarification rather than simply focus on how amazing the grace of God is for us.
This was a great book. Frank’s writing is clear and relatable. I will recommend to anyone who wants to learn more about experiencing Christ in their daily lives.
Frank Freedman wrote a fantastic book that everyone should read on the promises we have when we are “In Christ” if you are a frustrated or confused Christian this book will help encourage you!!
Casual and repetitive writing style is NOT my favorite, especially on theological topics. Had some great reminders of Biblical truths, even if they weren't presented in a helpful way for me.
