The Inappropriate Bachelors #3

To My First And Last One Night Stand

Rate this book
To Marco (No, I’m not going to add Polo), Last night was a mistake. A big mistake. Or should I say small? I don’t want to hurt your ego. I should have listened to your sister. You’re insufferable and rude and far too cocky. Don’t worry. I won’t be telling anyone what happened because as far as I’m concerned it never did. Please stop calling me. I do not need to come and collect my bra from you. Or the t-shirt you lent me to sleep in when I got cold. And no, that one act doesn’t make you a gentleman. Far from it. Also, I do not need to have your smell near me to fall asleep. In fact, your shirt does the opposite. It gives me nightmares. Millie P.S. No, I do not want a repeat of last night at my office. I don’t care if that’s your fantasy or not. Stop texting me your fantasies, by the way. P.P.S. The texts I sent you this morning were drunk texts. I was still hungover. Do not construe them as anything else. P.P.P.S. Could you have given me any more love bites? There was no need to “mark your territory” because I am not yours!

Have you ever read a book that's so bad that it's almost good? Like a car wreck you just can't take your eyes off of? That's where I'm at with this one. I couldn't make myself stop reading it, and there were times when I really, really wanted to. But the writing style is actually pretty good; this author could be writing something so much better than this. It's my first time reading something from J.S. Cooper, and I had no idea what I was in for when I saw that enticing cover and read that playful blurb.

You might be asking yourself what's so bad about the book. Honestly? There's a lot. But the hero is the biggest problem. He is... wow, he is something else. This is the Inappropriate Bachelors series, so I expected him to be an incorrigible playboy. But Marco is next level. Saying he can't remember the last time he slept with someone when he had 3 women in his bed the night before, seeking out other women every time the heroine doesn't agree to go home with him, all kinds of public acts... the list goes on and on. My respect for the heroine diminished with every page, and while there was a point in the book where I thought there was a possibility that it would turn itself around, it really doesn't.

That being said, there was a hilarity in the ridiculousness that I kind of enjoyed. For a steamy book (and, yeah, it's definitely a steamy book), the romance was a much slower burn than I expected it to be. 100% instalove, but they held out longer than I expected. There were moments when I could definitely see the potential for a better story mixed in, and I actually really did love all of the dialogue, the playfulness of the tone, and the general lightness.

But an ideal book boyfriend Marco is not. In addition to the countless scenes of OW drama, the lies and mistakes, there were a few times where I wasn't completely comfortable with the consent. And while he does KIND OF mature throughout the book, the heroine should've left him behind before he had a chance to. So, yeah, this was so ridiculous that it was actually entertaining. I didn't hate it - I probably should've, but I didn't. I might even check out more of the author's work in the future if I'm looking for something to brighten up my day a bit. But don't go into this expecting a book that's a satisfying romance. I received an ARC via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review of this steamy read.

Book 3 in The Inappropriate Bachelors series and it was a great addition. I have read several books from this author and I am in love with her work. The characters and the storylines she creates pulls you in with each page. This story was no exception. Loved Millie and Marco. They are both warned by Jane (her co-woker and his sister) to stay away from each other because he is a known heartbreaker and she doesn’t want to lose a friend. That doesn’t last long because the chemistry between them was so good and so hot. It was hard for them to stay away from each other. It was like no matter what he said or did, there was this intense pull that wouldn’t let go. She challenged him and made him see that being in a relationship wasn’t bad. Loved watching them navigate to their HEA.

I read an early review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Honestly this book just wasn’t for me.

I absolutely hated the heroine from the get go.

Maybe it’s just me but I don’t like to read, “haha” in dialogue. Seems a little texty to me.

Holy snaps, what did I read & can I have my money back!?

Okay 1st... I paid 3.99 for this book which was 3 dollars more than I should have... I am so disappointed with this book... first of all the OW drama is not my thing... first hand encounters with flings and his douchecanoe antics were not endearing, sweet or OTT, they were perfect examples of what not to date ... I can NOT express how much I disliked this book at certain moments...

1. Distasteful, he lied about his shenanigans
2. The roommate fiasco... HOLY SHEEEIT MAN- I mean WTF!? His behavior... I seriously don’t know how I kept going at this spot...
3. The club... AGAIN WTF!? ( I should’ve quit here)

Alas I kept on with the ridiculousness ...

4. His thoughts, about getting someone else’s mouth... gah... really!!!!!! Shit... at this point t I’m 80% in might as well see what other foolishness this book has to offer... *spoiler alert (don’t have to wait long)
5. So... love comes in the picture here ( location) and only a week in??

Sweet baby Jesus , Save me...

Literally...

I will say the ending is a smidge hot, a little ridiculous, kids aren’t a subject one typically wings... but yeah, okay...

HEA- Tada, a reformed Player into a one woman man. I deserve an award for not only reading this book but having to pay for it as well... it’s called the gulliable award! (SMH)

In all honesty, I had a hard time liking Marco most of the book. He’s cocky but not in a cute way—more like an annoying, full of himself kind of way. Some of the things he did would have sent me packing. Then finally, the female heroine, Millie decides she’s had enough. For good reason! Marco is despicable and I enjoyed that Millie called him out constantly. I just wish she would have made him work for it in a way that he never had to before. Which he did, but not soon enough in my opinion.

If you’re familiar with the series, Marco is the older brother of Jane, who is featured in the book, To My Arrogant Boss. Marco is the epitome of a ladies man and as I’ve mentioned before, VERY COCKY! He’s the love em and leave em type until he meets Millie. Millie is a feisty redhead who has confidence to boot. She’s awesome! I loved her attitude and I liked how she knew what she wanted.

Some of the things that happened in the book made me want throw my kindle! Marco was infuriating. Then he would show us the side of himself that would make you love him. Next scene, he’d be doing the next a-hole thing. You have to take it with a grain of salt—the hero in this story is unlike any I’ve read before. That’s a fact. He’s one of a kind. Look past his misgivings; I did! Now I’m ready for the next book.

I couldn't read this one. The hero was such a jerk. The book starts with him having a threesome. He was proud to be a player and he was very rude and crude about women in general.

I was given an ARC by the author for an honest opinion.

I really liked this book, it's funny, steamy and romantic. Marco is gorgeous, conceited and very arrogant. But, in beautiful Millie, he has really met his match. She is feisty and a challenge.
This is a well written storyline, and very detailed. It's fast paced and the banter, the narrative is great! I am so loving this series, and I'm looking forward to the next book =)

Marco and Millie are the next couple we get to learn about in this series and I have to say that I was not a fan of this book. It just seems they are going down hill. There where parts I liked, but some of the scenarios just seemed to put both men and women into a bad light. I knew Marco was a player (we learn this in the other books) but the way he treated women was just so over the top I found it hard to read. Millie was a favorite of mine for her strong willed attitude and sticking to what she wanted out of life. I was disappointed with the character shift in her though, it just seemed she wasn’t herself (as she was originally portrayed in the other books) at times. There were definitely times I lost respect for her. I get that lust can be extreme and we make poor decisions but then we learn from them. There were more inconsistencies and editing issues in this one that drove me crazy and once again could have been fixed with a proof reader but In the end I just wasn’t feeling it, it seemed too rushed and not real. This is my honest opinion, please read for yourself but I felt I should share.

What the actual fuck, so Marco gets to meet his sister’s new boyfriend & he was thinking she stay virgin until she gets married, but he’s a manwhore who had a fucking orgy the night before.. you serious?! Tell me this is a joke.. I really can’t stand this guy, he’s cocky & thinks every girl will drop on her knees for him. He told Millie he didn’t know the last time he had sex while it was the fucking night before. He was having fun with Millie in the bathroom when Millie’s roommate walked in & he just walked out of the shower to greet the roommate & was suggesting for a threesome, his behaviour made me sick to my stomach. I wish Millie had a backbone & just said no to him & walked away.. so the story goes on, Marco is thinking about fucking some chick to get Millie out of his head & 2 days later he’s telling her he’s in love with her & telling her he loves her while they’re having sex in a fucking sex club.. I just can’t.. This dude is a nasty pig, I really hated him.. So sorry for this long rant but just, no.

This series is the best!! Millie and Marco's story was interesting and I couldn't wait to turn the page for more.

Millie ( Jane's friend) the fiery red head who was sweet, outgoing but didn't take any crap.
Marco ( Jane's brother) sexiness on wheels but he was arrogant, conceited, his ego couldn't fit in the same room with you.... He was a jerk. But there was more to him and apparently he'd met his match in Millie.

I loved the humor, the banter, the steaminess and their chemistry. It pulled you in and made you want more.

This was such a fun read, I enjoyed it so very much! This series is addicting.

You'll love Marco and Millie's story in the third book of the Inappropriate Bachelors Series. They are amazing together and their chemistry is off the charts. He's Jane's brother from out of town and she and Tate were featured in a previous book. He's a major player who only has one night stands and he thinks he's not capable of love. He was arrogant, obnoxious and had a dirty mouth. But did I mention that he was drop dead gorgeous and really was a nice guy underneath. Something clicked the minute they met and maybe a little insta-love. It was fun watching their relationship develop. A cute romance that was fun to read. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.

Millie had dreams for her future, and she didn’t believe she would achieve them in her hometown and has recently moved to San Francisco. She likes her job and has become very close to her co-workers and now the only thing missing is a man to share her life with.

Marco is a former professional baseball player who has put his skills to use and is now a college coach. He enjoys the ladies, but never for more than one night, and has come to town to see Jane, his sister, who also happens to be Millie’s friend.

Jane has warned Marco to stay away from Millie and she has also warned Millie than any relationship with Marco will only end in heartbreak. Jane and Marco’s feelings when it comes to relationships couldn’t be more different however the chemistry between them couldn’t burn any hotter, but will they realize that one night may not be enough before it is too late?

Milly was fun and feisty while Marco was a work in process for most of the story but he did redeem himself in the end.

I really enjoyed these characters of Millie and Marco.

Millie has her best friend Jane who has her brother Marco and he's so full of himself. He feels he's God's Gift to Women. But when he lays eyes on Millie it is all about to change.

Millie knows that Jane has said that her brother is Bad News and not to get involved with him. But sometimes curiosities kill.

As Marco sets to go meet with his sister and nothing more, then go back home to Los Angeles, doesn't know that he's about to feel something for someone.

It takes a lot of him to know that he's falling for Millie and the same goes to her. Of course, when Marco invites Millie to Los Angeles, and to a sex party at that, let's Just Say, Marco cannot get his arms off Millie and being protective and why in the Hell did he suggest they to this Club?

I received an ARC for an Honest Review, and let me just say, I never get disappointed with J.S. Cooper's book. I loved, loved, and the sex scenes oh my. Just pick up the book. You will definitely enjoy it. Marco is too cocky but Millie changes how he feels towards Women and only wants Millie.

I received an ARC of this novel in return for my honest, voluntary review. I really didn't know how to rate this novel because I still don't know how I feel about Marco. He is the epitome of an inappropriate bachelor, so he is perfect for this series, but he's so frustrating. He is a womanizer, arrogant, has no boundaries, thinks he's irresistible, and only cares about one thing. Marco was never a guy that I liked at all. But, I couldn't stop reading because of the main character, Millie. I thought she was going to be a pushover kind of girl, taken by this experienced man. I was completely surprised she was able to keep up with him. The banter between them is very entertaining and the one night stand kind of becomes a few nights stand. I will say this book may not be for everyone. There is a lot of graphic scenes and a lot of sexy talk in between scenes. It works because that's Marco's character, but at times I would skim through them to get to the relationship scenes, which come towards the end. I didn't love the ending because it seemed a bit rushed and I felt like I needed more to really get into and understand what their feelings were about each other. This is a quick read to escape into naughty world. I definitely want to read the other books in the series.

A TOTAL player and a coworker/friend’s brother? Yes he may be totally fine and the hottest thing to walk in her line of sight in well ever. Still was Millie really ready to take that leap? She was definitely ready to spar with him though and that she was going to do all night no matter how much of an a#s he made of himself. Marco, was instantly attached to Millie, but the hard part was he was a player, and she was making him work harder than he had ever worked to get laid before. What was it about her? Was she worth it? Would he even really want to try, or rather keep trying?

Wow, you want something to ignite your panties right off? Yep, check this one out. Not only does JS Cooper give you hot sex though (and there is a lot), she gives you the interesting dynamic of a really jerky player who changes into being someone who is real and a woman who is confident enough in herself to stand up for herself. The dynamics that Cooper is able to bring to light help this story shine through the sea of sexiness. This is one of those reads that is not for the faint of heart nor the stick in the muds, but it is a quick read that is one of a series, yet can be read as a stand alone, that will have you eagerly waiting for the next installment.

5 Star review To My First and Last One Night Stand (The Inappropriate Bachelors #3) by J S Cooper

J.S. Cooper is a relatively new author to me and I have absolutely no idea why I have not come across her before. Although not a long book, it certainly was entertaining. The story is well written and I was invested from the first to the last chapter.

This is Marco and Millie’s story. Initially I was not too keen on Marco, he seemed too full of himself, a bit of a jerk, to be honest. I really liked Millie and it was interesting to read as Millie drew Marco out and showed him how to be a better person and to see the error of his ways.
This was a fun read that had me laughing and smiling throughout. The journey that Marco and Millie experience was bumpy but it came together in the end.

The third book in The Inappropriate Bachelors series, To My First and Last One Night Stand is a best friend's brother romance featuring Millie and bad boy player, Marco. This quick, well written, fun read is packed with attraction, undeniable chemistry, humor, unexpected twists and turns, witty banter, LOL moments, heartbreak, and plenty of hot scenes.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

I enjoyed Millie and Marcos story and loved there back and forth banter. Millie’s first meeting with Marco didn’t go great when she heard a comment he made to his sister Jane but she still couldn’t help gravitating to him cause she sees more then the arrogant player that she’s heard endless stories about. Marco had a connection to Millie that he couldn’t explain but thought it would be something he could get out of his system and it was amusing to see how there antics went from subtle to beyond in your face

This is my favorite book of the series so far, even though Marco does do some questionable things.

Marco is a playboy and likes to sleep with as many women as he possibly can. As soon as he meets Millie at dinner with his sister Jane and her friends, he is instantly hooked.

Millie is a firecracker and has never had a one night stand. She has been attracted to Marco since Jane first showed her his picture. Even though she was warned not to get involved with him, because be is a jerk, and will break her heart, she doesn't listen.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick fast paced insta-love story.

Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever read a character more cocky than Marco! Millie knows that Marco, Janes’s brother, is a player and always has been. But the attraction between the two is unstoppable. She knows that their hook up is nothing but it doesn’t excuse the way Marco treats her. Finally seeing the error in his ways, Marco tries to make things right. It’s a good thing Millie has an open mind because Marco isn’t done messing things up!

Marco and Millie were amazing! Marco is a player, sees women as things and nothing more that is until he meets Mille. Millie is sweet, outgoing, loving person and is nothing that Marco expected. She was a breath of fresh air. The more time they spend together the more Marco starts to realize that not every woman is the same. I enjoyed watching their relationship bloom. This was a fun, great read and I received a copy of this book.

Grrrr. Are people reading the same book I was? Five stars? How? Our 'hero' Marco is quite the charmer and the story starts with him in a bar using callous, misogynistic behavior where he slut shames the very women he's picking up for sex. No names, merely "the blonde" and "the brunette". When Marco meets his sister's new boyfriend for the first time the very first thing our hero asks is if the boyfriend has slept with his sister. Then he ponders the fact that he wanted his sister to remain a virgin until she marries. Like he has the right to an opinion let alone one with such a double standard. This is quickly followed by Marco reminiscing about sleeping with various friends of his sister behind her back. One in a public venue. What a keeper right? I actually looked at the copyright to make sure this wasn't some 80's throwback with a new cover.

"Also, I thought Violeta was your best friend. I never did anything with her" I smiled at her innocently, even though it was a lie. Violeta had fucked me several times when she'd come over for sleepovers, but she'd known that it was nothing more than a bang for me.

That is one of a myriad of samples of the egregious behavior on the part of our 'hero'. When he meets Millie, his sister's friend again his behavior is uncouth at the minimum.

"Well, your friend Millie, the redhead...I want to bang her." I took in Jane's shocked expression. "And I'm pretty sure she's down. Who knows, maybe she'll even give me some action under the table."

Whaaa? Is this really the hero of our story? Did no one else read these lines? Or how about this little gem?

"Your lips were saying hello, but your eyes were saying 'Shall I drop to my knees and blow you right now?"

That's right folks, our hero is better than Tyra Banks at reading a girls eyes and he knows what she's thinking. A clear case of she said 'no' but really meant 'yes' in this narcissistic little mind. There was an additional bar scene where a random chick walks up to him out of nowhere and starts unzipping his pants right there at the bar. Have bars really changed that much in the last few years? I thought that was what Tinder was for. Our heroine was OK. Nothing special. The plot involved Marco wanting Millie to go on a trip with him and quite frankly she came across as a bit avaricious while she recounted the things she wants to do if she decides to go. As in a trip down Rodeo Drive, a Dodgers game, Venice Beach, the spa. It felt transactional and frankly sordid. The whole "trip together" happened too fast and too bizarrely considering they barely knew each other. Don't even ask about the sex party. Sorry but the hero was such a prick I hated him the entire time. A fat no and a fat "F" for me on this one.

Last month I happen to come across the three books in the Inappropriate Bachelor Series on Booksprout and I was so excited that I binged all three back to back. Well, as much as one can binge read when also being a blogger LOL So it took about four weeks …

To The Rude Guy in Apartment Five: This story was actually quite cute but a while but then #twitchy. There are situations that are revealed from the past that have me all kinds of confused on how they weren’t a bigger issue than how they were written. Without giving away the plot of the story, their past is convoluted and our heroine just kinda shrugs it off way too quickly and there’s a forgive/forget that comes barreling at us from out of nowhere. While I’m not happy with how the story ended, getting there was mostly entertaining so 3 Stars overall.

To My Arrogant Boss: ahhhhh, so much more goodness than book 1 lol Although to be fair, I did like the first book but I love this one! I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Tate and Jane. Their meet-cute was hilarious and it laid a foundation to fantastic shenanigans. Tate is over-the-top arrogant, and I loved it. It’s exactly what this story needed. Jane was his perfect match in every possible way! I loved the friendship between the women and how it’s the center of this series. This is beginning to be a series I won’t want to end; I can feel! 4.5 Stars overall!!

To My First And Last One Night Stand: aaaaaand we’re back to #twitchy LOL Here’s the thing, there is a fine line between arrogant and a$$hole. Our hero walked that line thru this entire book and sometimes fell flat on his face on the a$$hole side LOL I’m not saying I disliked this book because of it, but it certainly didn’t help in me liking it either. The story-line itself is entertaining and actually well written but it’s one of those book where you don’t know if you like it or not so you just keep reading. That happens more often than I care to admit LOL 3 Stars overall!

One last thing. I know it sounds/ reads like my overall enjoyment of this series was lacking, but it actually was not. The key word here is overall. Now that I got to read all three in a short period of time I feel comfortable saying that they should be read as a continual series, meaning they are really not standalones. This series revolves around a group of women who are good friends. Their stories are interconnected. Your best bet is to read them all or none. Just my opinion.

One Hot Imperfect Guy....
by and1515

He was that kind of guy who attracted those type of women how'd give him a good time and then hopefully go away.
But yeah tonight the poor ditz was boring me and I was ready to leave.
It seemed like we were surrounded by nothing but happy couples. I feel like I'd been permanently shoved unfortunately in the singles corner with no sexy man insight to rescue me.
So now I have the pleasure of meeting my little sister's boyfriend I don't care for him one bit and honestly there will never be anyone ever good enough for her.
Jane had insisted on introducing me to her friends and colleagues however she made me promise not to persue them.
Unfortunately my friend's brother totally blindsided me he definitely has a dirt mind and an even dirtier mouth and wow apparently I'm suppose to be falling all over myself to appease his ego.
I can truly understand why Jane would warn me to be careful around her brother because he's the kind of bad boy only looking for right this moment.
Marco's quite a piece of work they seem to flock to him at the bar and wow those women didn't seem to happy when he sent them on there way.
Okay so spending time with him should get me into to much trouble but for some reason I've decided to jump out of the frying pan and straight into the nearest bed with him and boy oh boy he was well worth the guilty feeling I'm sure to have eventually. And yep trying to be honest isn't always an easy thing but she's my best friend even if Jane's his little sister.
Besides I have no intentions of answering his text messages not after this morning.
I never expected him to be as persistent and I finally gave in and say yes to going dancing and now I'm a wicked woman he wanted my panties so yeah I gave them to him just like that..
So she actually sent my sister to give me a kiss off note? And wow you'd think I murder someone so okay I have a few issues after all who doesn't.
My sister is being a brat I honestly didn't ever think I'd be in this position so now I've got to figure out how to make her give me another chance.

“Hero” Reprehensible

This is the first book I have read by this author, and the first section from the hero's perspective completely turned me off to this book. He is an unabashed player, and I just can't get behind a hero who calls women “s!uts” (sub an L for the !, of course). (Funny, I dictate my reviews in Google Docs, and it first rendered the word as s****, like it does with curse words!) Big turnoff right there. Of course, this book had a steaminess factor to it, but at times it felt more gross than sexy. I liked the heroine at first, but I didn't like her with him. As such, the romance just didn't work for me. The book also seems to have excessive problems with grammar, punctuation, and usage. I did receive an ARC copy of the book, but when I checked the published book online, it still had the errors. All in all, I was disappointed by this book, and if it is an accurate representation of what the author writes, she will most likely not make it on my want-to-read list again, though I do usually give authors two or three tries before I completely abandoned hope.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Didn’t even make it through the third chapter before I decided this book is not for me.
If you like:
• misogynistic men
• materialistic bitchy and catty women
This book is right up your alley

Marco is a pig. Whatsherface started out talking to her friend about not understanding why she is single while everyone else is in a relationship. It’s because homegirl is horrible. She’s rude, she talks about using her best friends boyfriend because he’s rich..I genuinely hated her from the get go. The whole time I was introduced to her all I could think of was “are you kidding me right now?” “Is she serious”.

Not to mention the dialogue is atrocious. This may come as a shock to most people but I don’t need to read “haha” every other sentence. This isn’t a friggin text message.

I signed up to be in J.S. Coopers arc team, and a requirement of joining was reading and reviewing this disaster of a book. Needless to say, I will not be reading anything else from this author. Hard pass.
