Yessss I always get so excited when reading about these characters, especially my boos Cole and Hunter😍. I legit love all the hero's in these books, and though Luca hasn't beaten my favorites yet, he was still amazing, especially with how much he took care of Penny and genuinely wanted to help her, even though I did hate him at one point😅 he still quickly redeemed himself because he is just amazing.
Penny I liked a lot more in this too. She definitely had more development and I think I was able to connect with her more in this one than I did in the first book of the duet. She could be a little too hard headed and too much into her head at times too, but I'm glad she started turning around more towards the end. And when they finally get together, I legit just loved them even more. We technically didn't get the full extent of their relationship, which is a bit disappointing, but also understandable, because that could take forever and this series is an ongoing storyline, which I'm just as focused on, and is a big part of these books. Either way, I am just super excited to finally get Cole's next book, because I legit need him and Anissa to be together FINALLY.
Overall, this was a great book. It never dragged, and I never felt disconnected or bored while reading. I may even have shed a few tears at one point (in my defense, it's also 3 AM and I'm dead tired and emotional😅 BUT I couldn't stop reading). Legit cannot wait for us to finally get Anissa and Cole's second book, and I so hope Eden doesn't make us wait long!
Now, I feel that you will at least need to have read the previous book Savior before diving into Luca, as this continues Penny from Savior's story.
And holy heck Eden Summers what a story it is.
Penny's previous story was a lot of action had a Bourne-ish feel to it. It had the adrenaline pumping
Now we are with the aftermath, and boy is this installment of the Hunting Her series full of emotion and heartache and hurt. And that is just for me as the reader!
I was curious as to where their story would take us, and I was not disappointed. We are taken on a rollercoaster of a ride, with a few holy heck and WTF moments thrown in there. I didn't want to put my e-reader down as I needed to know what was going to happen next.
I wanted to throw Penny and Luca in a room and lock them in until they got themselves sorted. Though I don't know if that would have been such a good thing either. It took them a while to get into their groove, and I enjoyed being there to watch it, even as they frustrated me.
I loved seeing more of all the guys and gals from the previous books. I need more of Cole and Anissa the most! But I would take more of any or all of them!
Like Britney said, Ms Summers - give me more, give me give me more.
Luca is a bit disappointment for me. I was a fan Hunting Her by Miss Summers. The suspense that started from the first book is continuing nicely through out the whole series. However in Luca, the conclusion for Penny and Luca story is not as sizzling as I expected.
Until the very end, I do not understand why Luca wants to help Penny. I also do not understand what is Penny obsession to save the other women in the sex trafficking ring. Penny's POV is focusing more into her own dilemma and her own drama. The attraction between Luca and Penny is also feels too instant and cold. Like being forced.
The suspense and the action aspect is enough to make the book interesting.
Luca is the most enthralling and entertaining romantic suspense that I have read all year! This author has mastered the art of weaving together an intricate storyline that grabs the reader’s attention right from the first page. Be prepared to forgo sleep because you won’t want to put this book down as it is full of romance, action, secrets, and heart stopping suspense that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
The author does an impeccable job with character development. Penny is battling the demons related to the horrors that were illustrated in Savior. She is both a vulnerable & strong heroine and I couldn’t help but admire her resilience. The path to healing is not an easy one and I like how the author addressed this. I am officially claiming Luca as my book boyfriend. He is just scrumptious and I love his protective nature & kind-hearted soul. These two bring out the best in each other and the connection between the two of them was palpable throughout the book.
This novel is a part of the Hunting Her series and is the conclusion to Luca and Penny’s duet. So you must read Savior before diving into this book or you will be completely lost. As there is character overlap and an interconnecting storyline, I do recommend reading the earlier books in the series as well to get the best experience. For those of you who love the Hunting Her world, you will be pleased to see some of the favorite characters from Hunter, Decker, and Torian. If you are looking for a well written, fast paced romantic suspense with captivating characters and an engaging storyline, then I definitely recommend Luca.
I voluntarily read an early version of this book. This is my honest and unbiased review.
Luca and Penny! These two have such an explosive relationship, she needs to feel safe and protected, yet she fears taking the baby steps Luca suggests because the one thing she doesn’t want to do is feel again. Luca needs to protect her but can he do that without developing feelings that she may find threatening.
Eden Summers gives us all the raw feelings that Penny is fighting through and all the hopes that Luca has for her. When things start to show promise though a terrible set back occurs, not only does an unknown assailant threaten Penny, and now she is sure she isn’t safe. With that comes another unknown, someone is removing money from Torian’s accounts using Luther’s access card and code to do it.
This story exposes secrets, lives are threatened, someone is leaking information and no one is safe. The story is fast paced, each single character is in danger and the question becomes will everyone make it to the end?
By the end of Luca, there are bodies, car wrecks, prisoners are taken, a reunion occurs, and there is an explosive ending that has readers sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for Cole’s book to come and give this wonderful series the closure that these characters and readers need.
I was given an advance reader copy of this book; the review above contains my own thoughts and words.
This book tho! I love Luca, I think he’s my favourite. Penny, or Shorty, is such a little warrior.
This book this at your heart strings and I found myself wanting the romance so bad. Luca, such a gentleman, so gentle with his Penny 💙 and just as you to the end and think it’s happily ever after BAM!!! It hit you right in the face!
Luca reaches into the depths of your emotions and doesn't let go. Eden weaves the story of Penny and Luca with such beauty that I didn't want it to end. Luca continue where Savior left off. They are "home" but she feels more lost than ever. She's rescued but doesn't feel free. Luca desperately wants to see her heal and recover. He sees the beautiful woman she is even when she can't. But, is the past too big? The future too dark and scary? With each step forward there are so many risks for both of them, emotionally, physically, and so much more.
However, Luca is that man that lives to protect and fights for who he loves...even when the battle doesn't seem winnable. He fights because it's the right thing to do. But he's not a good guy, is he? And this love is beyond words. But is the fight too big to win?
Buy this now! Read this now! Then read it again! You will want to!
Wow! This is a knuckle-biting, tear-jerking emotional rollercoaster of a novel. It is intricately intertwined with some previous novels, particularly Torian, and Savior. The premise is something of a mafia novel in that the main male characters are part of a mafia-like organization led by Cole Torian. The characters have married sisters of other members, etc,so it sometimes feels like it would be handy to have a chart of who is related to who and how. This particular novel concentrates on Luca, part of Torian’s organization, and Penny, sister of another member of the organization, who was held captive in a human trafficking entity by Torian’s father in Greece . So you can see how the characters are twisted together. Character development is excellent and intriguing. Plot has no end of twists and surprises from start to end. I’m not generally a fan of cliffhangers, but the complexities of this saga could never be confined to a single book. Furthermore, the characters burrow in the reader’s mind and demand the reader find out what happens next.
I received an Advance Reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
Finding Penny alive was a big surprise, not to mention shock. On Cole's orders, Luca brings her back to the US to begin the healing process and work on her trust issues. Cole and Decker stayed back to pursue the rest of Luther's men. Between the nightmares, trying to save the innocent girls and being abused by her tormenter, life with Luca is Penny's new reality. That monster Luther, had quite possibly damaged her beyond repair. Not if Luca can help it. From the moment he saw her, he felt a connection, one that couldn't possibly be acted upon. The strong, capable woman Luca helped rescue, is not woman he's been guarding these past weeks. Penny has become fragile, breakable, both mentally and physically. Luca just wants to heal her. How do you heal when you have no one, nothing, and are haunted by the things you had to do to survive? Simple. You don't. You just stay in survivor mode. When she was held captive, Penny had to be creative, conniving, lying through her teeth to keep herself and the others alive. Now after being rescued, Penny is locked up tight in her own head. Her fight is gone. She needs a a champion, someone to fight for her. She's spent years helping the women Luther abused, rescuing them the only way she knew how. Now Penny needs someone to rescue her. Luca is ready and more than willing to be that man. He's determined be the one to save her and in the process, maybe she can save him. OH MY GOD ! SO WORTH THE WAIT ! ! ! THIS SERIES IS ADDICTIVE, WITH CHARACTERS YOU DESPISE BUT CAN ALSO RELATE TO ! CHARACTERS THAT WILL WIN YOUR HEART AND RESPECT ! INTENSE ATTRACTION, LOTS OF ACTION AND PLENTY OF TWISTS AND TURNS ! ! ! ANOTHER FANTASTIC READ IN THIS INCREDIBLE SERIES ! ! !
Ahhh this was such a great book i could read Penny’s and Luca’s story all the time it could go on and on and on.
This book picks up from where you leave savior and it just got better and better this book had the action and rest storyline and when you thought one thing oh no another thing happened. To be honest this has just got me way to excited for Coles book and the last in the series.
Penny and Luca were such awesome characters and we really got to read Penny be the strong and resilient character we knew she could be. Luca was sweet and i loved his fierce protectiveness that he had for Penny.
This book had a few twists i don’t see coming and there was so much action and i loved how little things were popping up so we could figure what was going to happen except for how the book ended. It ended on a cliffhanger for me but not what you expect.
I can’t wait for all this to be wrapped up loved loved this series and again i loved how all the previous characters are so involved with the story.
This is the thrilling conclusion to Luca and Penny's suspenseful and sizzling romance! After Luca rescues Penny from her horrific nightmare, he brings her back to his home in the US to help her recover and heal. Luca has been attracted and wanted Penny from the moment he laid eyes on her. He is so determined to help this scarred woman, with the heart of a warrior, heal and become whole again. Penny doesn't want to be a burden on Luca, but he provides a safety that gives her the strength to go on. But that safety becomes broken when the unimaginable happens and their lives are all in jeopardy once again. I really liked both Luca and Penny, especially with all of their flaws and brokenness. Penny is strong, resilient, and determined. She was the perfect match for the valiant, protective, Luca. It was great having characters we have learned to care for from past books so essential in this story, I loved seeing them again. I love this exciting, heart-pounding, and steamy 'Hunting Her' series. The ending left me stunned and I can't wait for more of Cole and Anissa's story next!
I have been waiting for this book amd it did not disappoint. I've read this entire series and with each and every book I don't see how they can be better than the last. But this one left me feeling raw and full of emotions, with no word to describe how I was even feeling.
Luca is trying to help Penny overcome her pain and trauma and while recovering himself. Yet these two find themselves with an undeniable attraction. Is Penny able to move passed her past and let Luca in? Will their only be more heartache and broken hearts in their path? Can the "bad" guy truly be the guy for her? Will the overcome the obstacles life continues to throw their way?
I received an advance reader copy to leave an honest review of this book. I have read the entire Hunting Her series to date and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. This book follows Savior and should be read after that one. Really I'd read the whole series in order to get the full picture but you do not have to.
This book finishes the story of Penny and Luca after Penny has been rescued from a sex trafficking ring. It follows the struggle she has with returning to the real world and all the emotions that come with it. Especially as she starts to fall for her rescuer. Luca is struggling with his feelings for Penny as well as he knows she is not ready for any kind of emotional entanglements. While all of this is happening, it seems not everything (or everyone shall we say) was taken care of during the rescue operation. There are loose ends that threaten Penny and those she loves most.
Lots of drama and intrigue! I cannot wait for the next and final book in the series. This definitely has the romance but it is tough and gritty in all the books. It's not your rom com but definitely a riddled crime family's journey to love and loss.
I would recommend the whole series. It is well written and the intense and emotional topics are handled very well.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!! I have been waiting excitedly for this book for a while, and it did not disappoint. I could not stop reading it!
I loved meeting Luca and Penny in Savior, and the continuation of their story was beyond my wildest expectations. Penny's strength to overcome the horrors she faced, was incredibly inspiring. Luca's heart and ability to help Penny grow made me fall in love with him.
This is a drop everything to read type of book! The end is amazing and makes me even more excited for Cole!
Oh, Luca and Penny. This book tore me apart. I loved their story from the beginning, but I never expected it to be as heart wrenching as it was. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions, from highs to lows, and everything in between. But the love they share, it’s indescribable. The ending is.... I don’t have words, and I can’t wait for the next release!
This book picks up right after the last one in the series, Savior. This is Penny's and Luca's point of view. There's a lot going on in this book and I could not stop reading it until I finished. I love Luca and how he works with Penny. All of the characters from the previous books in this series make their appearances which I love. This is suspenseful but will also pull your heartstrings. There is a bit of a cliffhanger at the end which will lead into the next book in the series, Cole. I am anxiously waiting for that book and am hoping there will be more of Luca and Penny. I received an advance copy of this book from the author and this is my honest opinion and voluntary review.
What a conclusion to Penny and Luca’s relationship! Well it is more like a start and what an awesome connection they have. I enjoyed reading Luca so much and am looking forward to Cole’s story! Eden does a wonderful job allowing us to see the harsh reality of recovering from long term abuse and trauma. And while Penny’s story moves a bit faster than perhaps in real life, she shows that it’s alright if your recovery takes weeks or months or years; just keep taking it one goal or one step at a time.
Once again, I am left speechless by the emotional roller coaster that the author just took me on.
This truly is a visceral, dark story of love, loss and redemption. A story which wickedly keeps the reader pierced very firmly on the edge of their seat, hoping for the best, fearing the worst.
I'm not going to lie, this didn't end as I expected it to, but I'm definitely hooked for the next installment.
Who knew white knights could be such bad boys?
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
Holy crap this was a good book !!! I love Luca 💗 This book kept my on my toes and definitely was hard to put down ! I want moreeee lol I can't wait for the next book in the series !!! If you haven't read this author your missing out, every one of her books are amazing and this series is a series you Need to read asap !!!
Once again, Eden Summers has blown my mind! This series literally keeps getting better. After reading Savior, I anticipated Luca being an amazing story, but I wasn't ready. This book made me swoon and cry and fall in love with Luca. My heart wanted to explode by the end. I read this book fast and mourned when it was over.
"Get off your fucking knees.... you will never kneel before a man ever again. Do you hear me?.... From now on Pen, you take your place on your fucking pedestal." SWOOOON.
I've never wanted to bang two character's heads together as much as I did with Luca and Penny. They both had internal wars trying to put themselves off each other and fight the attraction 😭
Luca just melts me, the way he protects and looks after Penny is just everything 🥺 he's so damn sweet 😭 but only with her 😏
"He's handsome and savage and beautifully lethal"
And Penny, after everything she's been through bless her, she's so strong! With Luca by her side she is unstoppable 🖤
"For once, it seems my saviour needs saving and I want to take that role."
I just LOVE Eden's style of writing, I get so lost in her books that before I know it I'm at 90% and I don't want it to end 😭
Oh I also love that we get to see the other characters too, I forgot how much of a dick Hunter can be "my ninety fucking thousand dollar car" 🤣🤣
Luca by Eden Summers, is the continuation and finale of Savior and brings to a fitting conclusion, the explosive and heart wrenching relationship between Penny & Luca. Without going into detail (as it’s up to you to read ALL THE DETAILS) this story is a cracker of a reading experience and has all of Summers’ individualistic talented wordplay tattooed throughout to keep this one such an enthralling and entertaining read. Luca follows a slightly less frenzied and ugly path than Savior did, and obviously centres more around the actual burgeoning relationship happening between Luca & Penny, however, the playing out of the mental struggles and final understanding that bring Penny closer to Luca is an interesting and delicious foreplay to the dynamic ending that very few will see coming. With all the characters and larrikins we love/hate previously seen in the Hunting Her series, Luca lets us look a little deeper into this Mafia style family dynamic and sets up what I’m sure is going to be an unbelievably absorbing and captivating culmination to Cole and Anissa’s story which we know is expected and anticipated! Another excellent 5 star read that I would definitely recommend.
This is the conclusion to Luca and Penny’s story which started in Savior. I have been eagerly waiting for this book and Eden Summers has delivered a great read yet again! The character development in this book is terrific and Eden’s handling of the recovery from long term trauma and abuse is outstanding.
Penny’s recovery from her traumatic past and her subsequent relationship with Luca is wonderful to see develop. I hope to see more of them in future books. Penny is a strong, yet vulnerable and Luca is so protective of her. Overall, this was a great read that I couldn’t put down.
For the best reading experience, I would recommend that you read the prior books in the Hunting Her series. Whilst the others are standalone (excluding Savior which is the first book in this duet) and can be read at any time, I would recommend at the very minimum that you read Savior prior to this book. Once again, a great read and you won’t be disappointed. Well done Eden and I can’t wait for your next book!
I have been given an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 5 in the Hunting Her series and it features Luca and Penny. The writing is so amazing that this book played like a movie in my head and every actor deserves an Oscar. There wasn’t one single dull moment from cover to cover. The action and suspense were fantastic! I was on such an emotional roller coaster. Luca is tough inside and out but has a strict sense of right and wrong with no fear. Penny has been through hell and she’s afraid to start healing. I could genuinely feel her emotions and frustration at EVERYTHING. I would never have thought these two would be good together but they were perfect in an opposites attract kind of way.
I HIGHLY recommend this amazing book in the fabulous series! The plot twists will have your head spinning. You will find yourself constantly on the edge of your seat. I am SUPER excited for the next book in this series!
4⭐️ I liked the book overall and the two main characters, Luca and Penny. Luca is literally so luvly and protective all the time😍
This book followed on from the last but I don’t understand why it didn’t have an actual ending for the couple. The next book is going to be based on Cole again and I understand that the plot line is ongoing but this one didn’t give a somewhat conclusion to Penny and Luca’s relationship. I mean, they still haven’t slept together💀😭 Although the plot is really good in this series, it lacks intimacy between the couples. Also, I am confused over all the other characters because why does it seem like they lack sympathy/empathy for the women who have been saved from slavery?? Specifically Hunter, Cole and Sarah. All they did was undermine Penny and constantly ignore the fact that she had a lot of trauma.

Just when I think there's no way Eden can top any of her other books, she goes and hits me with LUCA!!!
Let me just go ahead and say I love Luca. He is a very protective alpha male; especially when it comes to the people he loves, this includes Penny. Luca desperately wants to help Penny overcome what she has endured but also doesn't want to push her to hard and cause her more harm. He's doing everything he can think of to help her but also struggling to come to terms with his feelings for Penny. He wants to be with her but after all she has been through he feels like he is taking advantage of her and refuses to give in to his urges.
Penny's so broken inside but also so strong. She tries so hard to put on a brave face, even though everyone can see through it. I was so happy when her walls finally came down and she allowed Luca in. She is truly an amazing character.
I love the relationship these two share. I can't wait to see what Eden has in store for us next.
Luca Luca Luca what can I say, the latest book in the hunting her series and the concluding part of the duet was everything I hoped it would be and then some.
After her rescue Penny and Luca return to Boston where she must begin to heal and find her way back from the atrocities committed against her. Penny knows she’s not completely stable but takes solace in the company of Luca and it’s not long before she comes to rely on him.
Luca recovering from the head wound knows he’s attracted to Penny and can never act on it out of concern for her well being. He’s all Alpha male but self sacrificing and self depreciating no matter how much he wants her.
Will the ghosts of Penny’s past keep stay dead or will they come back to haunt her....find out in this thrilling conclusion.....
I thought Savior (book one of the two part Luca and Penny story) was explosive in their dynamic relationship. But the conclusion just changes everything. Penny needs to be protected and nurtured and shown that the world she lived is not the world she can have. But Luca's methods aren't always as easy for her take, especially when she has no idea of his desires, his needs and his desperate want of her. Then danger strikes in another manner. Will her reliance on Luca be what saves her? Will her inner strength prove to her that she can have a future? Or will the unknown keep her locked in her tormented state forever?
