The Sorn

Rate this book
In a mundane, magicless world where creatures of dreams and nightmares alike called the Sornama, appeared without warning, birthing magic and mayhem into the world that pushed humanity to the brink of extinction. In their struggle against the invaders, an Order was formed around the answer to their salvation. When the creatures were destroyed, a substance that was more addictive than any drug was left behind; however, it was able to unlock magic in humans and began to change the tide of battle. Twenty years later, the saviors had become above the law, and their Order had lost all trust amongst the people. Their addiction to their newfound power that was gained by killing the Sornama caused them to turn on each other in battle, forcing them to hunt alone. Will the world stand a chance this time when a new, and much more deadly threat rears its head?

As a fantasy fan I can not believe this is Melroses first book. I honestly could not put it down as I was constantly wanting to know what happened next (last time I was like this was the rift war saga by Fiest). If you are a fan of Fighting, power, magic, addiction and twists then this is a book for you. I thoroughly look forward to the next book by Melrose.
