'TITAN' is the first full length book in new to me author's Shantel Tessier's 'Dark Kings' series. This story focuses on Emilee and Titan, (Titan is one of the Dark King's)
What a complex tantalising story this one turned out to be, though I was expecting it to be a little bit darker than it was I was still engrossed with the story throughout. The twisty little twist and turns this threw up had me rejoicing with how blindsided I was, I never saw them coming!!
From start to finish I loved everything this author threw at me. And I really can't wait to read more of these guys stories.
So we have the four guys which make up the 'Dark King's they all go way back. They were trained to take over this world from a young age and were prepared with all it entailed.
Emilee has been living in New York the last few years but has had to come home due to the death of her father, this is the catalyst which set the ball rolling into unknown territory. Like a domino effect her world started crumbling down around her feet. Her mother is also on deaths bed, cancer has got its claws into her, so Emilee has the world on her shoulders with no one to lean on.
To make it even more unbearable she learns that she's been left nothing, everything her father owned has been handed over to his business partner, right down to the house her mother is living in.
Now she's at the mercy of George her father's business partner. Now he's got a proposition for Emilee, if she does what he's demanding he'll pay for her mother's care.

I wanted to like this book. I really, really did. And maybe it's because I haven't read COS yet, but I was just lost throughout the entire book. But that's not even my main problem; the problem was the supposed romance between Titan and Emilee.
Some background:
So Titan has always wanted Emilee, but she was in a relationship with his best friend Bone, so he acted like he couldn't stand her but really he's been in love with her for years. Emilee had something tragic happened to her and she left town, only to come back a broken shell of the woman she was. Now that she's back, Titan can't help but have the overpowering need to possess and own her (which borders on creepy for me, but to each their own) but be does agree to help Emilee with her situation.
Okay, now that's all out of the way, here is what didn't work for me:
-Titan and Emilee was more lust than love. There was no emotional connection, no pull between them, it was all sex.
-It felt like this book was pushing to be an MFM menage, but then pulled back at the last minute. Emilee would go and fuck Titan, but then kiss Bone. But when she was with Bone, she would fantasize about Titan. Girl couldn't function unless some dick was involved.
- And the absolute thing that I couldn't get past? It felt it was more Bones book than it was Titan's, and Titan is the freaking main character! He was just completely overshadowed in the suspense and his relationship.. Bone and Emilee had an insane amount of chemistry AND emotional connection, whereas Emilee and Titan just felt forced.
- PLUS Bone KNEW how Titan felt about Emilee when he was boning her all those years ago, and just didn't care. It just all annoyed me.
Even the epilogue is from Bones POV! I felt like Shantel has a major lady boner for Bones (ha!😂) but this was just a hot mess. I was actually rooting for Bone and Emilee, ans now I have no desire to read about who he ends up with.
Obviously this was a huge miss for me, but I'm sure others will enjoy it.

Titan is the first book in the highly anticipated Dark Kings series by Shantel Tessier. When I first heard about it, I knew that I HAD TO HAVE IT. Everything that Shantel writes is like kindle crack to me, and I just can't get enough. Her books are dark and thrilling, angsty and suspenseful, completely addicting and steamy as hell. And Titan was no different. It's a dangerously dark and delicious tale that will have your heart racing while keeping you on the edge of your seat.
From the very start, this book blew me away. I absolutely loved it! Titan and Emilee had crazy hot chemistry and intense push and pull. I loved the whole Dark Kings crew. Especially Titan who was intense and unapologetic with his take no prisoner's attitude. But I also loved his sweet and protective side for the strong and sassy Emilee. And the sex scenes? OH MY GAWD! SO DAMN HOT!
All in all, Titan is a fantastic read that more than checked off all the marks for me. If you're into dark and suspense filled stories with a lot of twists & turns, nail biting angst and heaps of heat, then this book is for you. I simply cannot recommend it enough. I loved each and every single second of it from the beginning to the end. Five stars and so many more for Titan, Emilee and the Dark Kings!

Titan was everything I had hoped for and more. Dark, gritty, and steamy, with a perfect blend of romance and angst. Shantel has created an amazing new world in the Dark Kings and four hot alphaholes I cannot get enough of. Bring on book two!

I don’t understand this book at all! I’m so confused. So Emilee, the main character, is a prostitute, slept with Bones and now dating Titan but he’s also an asshole who treats her bad? But why the constant Bone stuff? This book is weird because it’s about Emilee and her ex Bone who is Titans best friend but then Titan and Emilee are dating? I don’t get it and I can’t finish it ugh! I’m confused on the 4 star review

Umm. Let's just let it be known that Shantel Tessier can write one hell of a hot af book. I wasn't sure what to expect from Titan and the new Dark Kings series but Lord once I started reading...this book BLEW ME AWAY!! It was crazy crazy sexy and the chemistry between Titan and Emilee was FIREEEE. I loveeeed the Dynamic between all the Kings and Queens but I was in loveeeee!!
This story was beyond epic but what I loved more than anything was how sassy and strong Emilee was. She might not have been in control of some aspects of her life with her shady family but when it came to Titan.. she knew what she wanted! Gah! The secrets in this story were unbelievable and non stop!! Tessier did the damn thing and I for one am SO ready for the next book. LOVED THIS!! 4.5 stars! ~Ratula

The truth is that after reading COS, I wanted like crazy Bones's story, but hell, when I found out that Titan was paired with Emilee, i was over the moon!!!
That pairing was about to perlex things. No???
And i was on the edge of my seat, even before i start reading it!!!
I really loved this book and the beginning had me hooked, but I can not hide to you that i was confused on many levels, especially on the romance part.
"She 's a Queen and bows to no one. Why would I be any different?"
Well, Titan was one of the Dark Kings.
These four are so intriguing characters and pant-melting males...
I love how deep is their connection, even though sometimes, the lines are blurred between them.
Titan is ruthless and successful in what he is doing...
He never got an interest to a woman, except for one particular woman in the past...
A woman that was boning his best friend, but whom Titan wanted always for himself.
"I've loathed this woman since grade school, but a part of me has always wanted her. She was like an itch you can't scratch. A high you could never reach. She was unobtainable. Until now."
Emilee is returning back to Las Vegas after two years that she was away...
Unfortunately, her whole world is trembling down around her and she is standing on a dead end.
She just have to accept what little someone is offering her in order to survive...
Yes, Emilee had proven to us that she can go in very deep and shady depths in order to survive!!!
Unfortunately, all of this situation is bringing her back on the Dark Kings's radar, and especially, Titan's, a man that she was always attracted to...

Well, the things were complicated in here!!!
There were happening too many shits... and Emilee was in very deep inside of them!

At the same time, that thing between her and Titan is brewing in epic proportions...
But the things are very complicated between them as well!!!
"She's mine now. I've waited long enough for her."
"I have nothing to offer him. He owns a Kingdom."
To be totally honest with you, i really don't know how I'm feeling about Emilee...
I liked her, but she frustrated me on so many levels...
The same goes for Titan!!! The man was... impressive in every aspect and thankfully, he had a better hold on what he wanted, but still... some things i can not understand...
Yep, in here, we were having some freakin' hot scenes, but they were also so confusing!!!!
I couldn't really feel the sentiments that these two were sharing, and i needed something more from this couple!!!
"I'm going to own her. Just like Bones used to but only I'm not going to stop where he did. I'm going to demand more because I'm nowhere near done with her."
Overall, the frustrating parts, i really loved both Titan and Emilee, even though the last one was making so many wrong decisions!!!!
And now, i can not wait for the rest of the Kings... especially, Bones, whom frustrated the hell out of me as well!!!
Honestly, for some reason the thing between these three were making me hot, but bothered!!!
Oh, also I can not wait for Jasmine!!! Her crazy ass is very intriguing.
I would love to see her pairing with Bones, but honestly, i don't know how well could work that for both of them!!! Hmmmm....

uhhhhh what?
This book was so confusing I'm still trying to understand.
Basically, Emilee was in a "relationship" for like 6 years?? with this guy Bone. Turns out his best friend, Titan, was actually in love with her and he knew all along. Fast forward, they meet again and we're supposed to believe that Emilee and Titan are soulmates, even tho in every scene of theirs Bone is involved (even the sex scenes, yes) and they remark how much chemistry they have.
First, the author implies that their relationship was just sex, but then she says that Emilee is the only woman Bone cares about and actually, he does love her???? but that's not the only contradiction. At the beginning Titan doesn't give a shit about Em and sees how she gets beat up and does nothing, oh but actually no, he is in love with her and has been for years??? this just made ZERO SENSE.
The plot was all over the place, somebody always owed money to someone, so interesting 😴 then you have "her best friends", specifically Jasmine whose only personality trait is that she loooooves sex and that's the only thing she talks about with her bff. Oh did I mention that Em was blackmailed and sexually assaulted, has no money and Jasmine thinks it's a great idea for her abused bff to join an (Titan's) Escort Service?? cause come on, be with more men against your will that's just super fun!
The icing on the cake: this four men who are the heroes of this series have inherited their fathers billion dollar business and run it together (ejem Corrupt), but of course you can't just call them by their names so they decided that The Dark Kings was and amazing, not cringe at all, name for them... like people just refer to them as "the kings" all the time, please say sike.
I'm giving this 2 stars solely for the fact that I actually finished the book, it was like a car crash that you know it's bad but you just can't stop looking. This was not it, at all.

Titan isn’t a sweetheart. He’s a ruthless King. He doesn’t bow to no one. There’s one person that has always escaped his hold. Emilee York. But it’ll be her turn soon.
Emilee left Las Vegas, but when tragedy struck, she made a return. What will keep her in Sin City?
Shantel Tessier is… Well, she leaves me speechless. This is my third book by her and the spell does not wear off. I love her sexually liberated sassy heroines and the (anti-)heroes that accompany them. I found them cute and adorable together and as solo entities, but I think that’s the Dark Romance addict in me speaking HEHE. She makes it so easy to fall for these guys. If you liked Code of Silence, this story is definitely for you. I was highly entertained by this fast-paced steamy read! The characters endure a smoking hot second chance of some sorts romance. There were angsty elements. Limits of friendships were once again attested and explored. Bones couldn’t be any hotter. Jasmine was hilarious. The environment we find ourselves in is cutthroat and there are unexpected twists and turns everywhere.
I recommend this to anyone who read Code of Silence, lovers of sassy strong and tortured lead girls and smoking hot men that take up any challenge.

Reread! EXCELLENT! So whatever happens in Vegas DOESN'T stay in Vegas!
This was my first time reading Shantel Tessier and OMG can she weave a story! The drama, the suspense, the characters and the raw sexual tension were all there in this dark tale! This was one book that I couldn't tell where this story was going and I really enjoyed the surprises ingrained throughout this intense story!
Titan was a force to be reckoned with but absolutely nothing is what it seems in Titan and Emilee's story in Titan (Dark Kings) and I love it! It's dark, mysterious and very very intense! Great first book in a author's latest series. I loved the secondary character: Jasmine, Haven, Bones, Graves and Cross but I'm so curious who's story is next! I also would love to find out who falls for Nite!
Now I'm going to read "Code of Silence" which is Luca and Haven's story! Luca is Mafia! These two characters were in Titan and Em's story!

I absolutely love this author. I couldn't wait to read this book. But here's the thing... I freaking HATE when an "alpha" shares the woman he loves. And with her ex at that. That's not cute. I freaking hated this book. It should have been about Bones and Emilee. That would have made a lot more sense. Also, Titan was WEAK. I almost want my money back.

4.5 ⭐️!! This was 🥵HOTTTT AF! Like make sure your thang in the bedside drawer is charged and ready for full power.
”Emilee is the full package. She’s the kind of woman you use in the bedroom but parade her around as a fucking queen in the streets of peasants.”
This 10000% should’ve been the first in the series. This was SO much better than the first and I bet alot of people read the first and don’t make it to this absolute deliciousness! This was everything the first should have been so read this FIRST.

I have been dying for the dark kings books ever since I fell in love with them in Code of Silence and Titan did not disappoint.
Men like us don’t fall in love. Not every King needs a Queen.

I'll begin saying Shantel Tesssier previous books were awesome but this one was a big mess.Let's say the main couple have the worst chemistry I've read so far, you never understood why they are together I mean I get it hot sex and is great insentive but that's all. Also Emilee's friend Yasmine is a pathetic copy of Samatha of sex and the City, I'm all for women who own their sexuality and don't give a shit what people think about them but this girl saying love dick every chapter through all the book was tiresome and repetitive, the fact she slept with a marry man and doesn't care made me pray Shantel never give her a book .

5 DARK, DELICIOUS AND PERFECT STARS!! I freaking devoured this book and loved every word. Titan and Emilee were PERFECTION...I loved them both equally. Their story was DARK, BEAUTIFUL and touched my heart and soul. I will be dreaming of these two tonight. I can't wait for the other guys stories. You must read the DARK KINGS.

The story takes place in Las Vegas which is a nice change from the typical NYC or LA stories.
There's a gang of 4 alpha dudes that make up a group of billionaire casino owners called the Kings and one mafia don. These 5 rule the city of Las Vegas.
The (h) Emilee dated Bones one of the 4 Kings in college but they went their separate ways.
She's currently a rich girl down on her luck.
What was unique is that while the (h) Emilee is down on her luck, she is used and abused and we expect that H's (Titian and Bones) to step in but they don't. This was painful to read but necessary b/c if the Kings were as ruthless as we say there were then it makes sense.
But what doesn't make sense is that it's not explained how and why the H and h develop feelings to get them from where they started to how they ended.
What also keeps this from being a 4-star book for me is that I believe the Bones and Titian and Emilee should be a couple but that's not what happens. She does choose someone but only half-heartedly and I think that was unsatisfactory.
I found it interesting to read about an h that's very free sexually. There is no other man in the traditional sense.
I really liked Emilee's best friend Jasmine - it would be interesting if I saw her with Bones and I'm looking forward to her story.

I’m not reading this. I already don’t like anybody and I’m getting sick of the poor girl at every man’s mercy trope.
Not being funny but if my parents were that whacked to leave me in that position I’d just leave them to die. The characters don’t make sense. Emilee lives in New York barely sees her parents doesn’t even know they got divorced but rolls over immediately even though her Mum is TERMINALLY ILL and a selfish piece of cheating shit (I assume). Anyone who can love a man like George deserves to rot.
So I don’t like Emilee. She doesn’t even try to find a way out. Just drinks and bends over. Fuck right off. I know it’s rape and I feel for the girl but I can’t read a book about someone I don’t root for. And I especially can’t read a book about a girl whose family for no apparent reason fails her so massively. Why was her Dad in business with such a sleaze ball anyway? Emilee says they were best friends but that doesn’t make George a good person. News flash babe if your Dad’s best friend is this sack of shit then your Dad was likely a sack of shit too. Sorry bout it.

I am therefore finished with this series : ) probably. Maybe? Ok I lied, I will most likely read bones book when it comes out.

Poor Emilee! But honestly I really enjoyed this story! I loved Titan and his whole protective energy! I love getting to read from a Queen’s perspective! Poor Emilee just couldn’t catch a break though! But, it all turns out ok in the end! Can’t wait to read the next one!

Dark, mafia romance. Oh man, I was left confused reading this one because there's just so much drama and so many things going on! I liked Titan, he was your typical arrogant alpha male. He showed his soft side here and there too but the other characters fell flat for me and this story was a little bit of a mixed for me.

This author will have you eating out of the palm of her hand, everything has just flowed so smoothly and it’s taking me on a wild ride. A ride that I didn’t expect. They do say the unexpected rides are the best rides and that is 100% the truth.
Titan is book one in the brand new series called Dark Kings by Shantel Tessier. Each book will follow each King, the Kings being Titan, Grave, Cross and Bones.
Titan is told in dual Povs, this is Titans and Emilee Story.
So I started and finished Titan in one day! Guys this book is absolutely EVERYTHING! You are all going to love it and become so engrossed with everything that goes on.
I mean it, this book is absolutely everything.
I am not going to go into the plot of this story as from just reading the blurb, you can sort of see an inkling of what you are to expect. A lot of things happen, so many twist and turns that I did not expect to see coming.
If you’ve read Code of Silence, at the end of the book, you’ll have already been given a little insight that sets the tone for Titans and Emilee’s story. Although with saying that, you don’t have to read Code of Silence to go into this book.
We Learn more about the Dark Kings and how they have become into the world of the Dark Kings. Each King is so very different but they are joined together by their families. The brotherhood in this book was something I simply loved, the love and care they have for one another you can definitely see. They aren’t just a group of men, they are brothers.
THE SECONDARY CHARACTERS, are what I lived for in this book. They were just the shit. One secondary character in particular would be Jasmine, One of Emily’s Best friends. She is literally the life of the party, she has no filter and just speaks her mind literally about everything. She is literally girl goals and I want to be her or have her as a best friend. Shantel, I am so hoping that she ends up with somebody, well a certain somebody.
Then we saw the DECKER BROTHERS again, that was amazing!
Emilee and Titan were literally made for each other, they were a pair I didn’t expect to see together but now that I have read their book I can see why and couldn’t have pictured them with anyone else.
They just fit each other to the T, even when they were younger they had this enemies to lovers vibe going backwards and forwards.
Whilst reading those moments, you can see that it was a cover up. Titan has always wanted Emilee and deep down Emilee has too but because she had chosen bones, and she had left. Titan didn’t get the chance to tell her.
But now that she is back he is going to make her his.

When I read the Code of Silence for the first time, my mind was completely blown. Then there was this mystery of Bones and Titan and I was just so excited for this book!!! and let me tell you that, Shantel tessier did not disappoint me in any way!!
This book was everything a book can be. It was full of suspense, a little bit of humor and sooo much sexiness. I just loved all those kinky scenes by the author. Every twist in this book had me gripping the edge of my seat in anticipation. The ending was fucking perfect and I just can't wait for the rest of king's books!! We got to see few scenes of Luca and Haven too.
Emilee and Titan were perfect for each other in every way. We also got to know the history between Bones and Emilee. One of the best things I found about this book was the perfect friendship and bond between the kings. Specially between Bones and Titan. I loved the way Titan , never let his insecurities get the best of him, and always trusted Bones. Bones too honored their relationship and was genuinely happy for them. I just can't wait for his book!!!!
This book is recommended to all the crazy, hardcore-romance book fans. Because let me warn you, these kings are going to completely destroy you!!!!

✔︎Yet her hero's though are something else, they do not have a grey area, it's either black or white no in between, they will not think twice about killing someone particularly for their heroine's.

Titan owns a high-end escort called 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏𝒔 which he co-shared with his 3 other best friends, who will get each book in the series.

✔︎One thing I know for sure is if you decide to read any of Shantel Tessier's books you will not be disappointed. It's always one hell of a narrative.
✔︎Expect dark, and twists and turns. As for her characterization, I am not always a fan of her heroine's we'll at least in the beginning, doubtless, they are strong, but annoying at times.
✔︎Yet her hero's though are something else, they do not have a grey area, it's either black or white no in between, they will not think twice about killing someone particularly for their heroine's.
Anyways, 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧 is the first book in the 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, and it's about 𝑻𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒏/𝑾𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒆.
Titan owns a high-end escort called 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏𝒔 which he co-shared with his 3 other best friends, who will get each book in the series.
Emilee and Titan are known each other since third grade, and when they were in college Em sort of had a friend with benefits but (less on the friend side) considering Em and Boone who's btw is one of Titan confidantes are just fucking to the fullest.
2 years later a devastating accident happened to Emilee's life forcing her to go back to Las Vegas. And of course these two crosses paths again.

I do wanna go more into detail, because a lot is going on with this book. Some conspiracy and shits.
It's best if you go in blind, for a better reading experience. Keep in mind that 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭, nevertheless, it's another good read for me by the author.
