Zoe realised her marriage wasn't the only thing burning, her small country town was in peril, as the Australian bushfire broke out, bringing caos to her life.

Through tragedy in their community Zoe and Reece support each other and becomes best buds. Reece Sinclair is the volunteer captain in the fire brigade.

They are fantastic together but can they find their way, a partnership or will their relationship burn out before it begins.

Being a huge admirer of the author Kenna Shaw Reed's work, I knew I would be entertained and engrossed in the story.

The narrative was relevant, trustworthy and the descriptions were spot on I could smell, hear, feel the fear and the fire. "The ground was so dehydrated", through her words I experienced the fire.

There is a unique way Kenna involves and engages her readers, ties the plot and the characters effortlessly together.

The characters have strong personalities that are shaped from life experiences. Zoe was very loyal and Reece was nurturing towards her. Their personalities complement each other.

I found the read funny, entertaining, I had an emotional connection with both characters. The cover was also very fitting both to the story, cover art and the book title.

Her Australian references have added an authentic element to her writing. As an Aussie I found things she had mentioned "the pub with no beer" song for example, humorous and made me laugh hard at that reference, I even sang it out loud!!

She is true to her craft, her writing style is honest, truthful, engaging, emotional and true to the genre.

You need to read this book for yourself! It will bring "heat" to your day and a smokin firefighter... everyone needs a Reece in their lives.

With Australia’s bushfires ravaging the area, it’s up to Captain Reece Sinclair to lead his team to fight the fire and save the people. Zoe Wynters makes sure everyone gets inside the pub and keeps them distracted from the danger right outside.

The whole town is destroyed, but the people are still alive. Everyone is trying to figure out how to rebuild their lives and move on with what little they have left. Zoe is newly single after her husband decided to leave town once their house was destroyed. Reece has had his eye on Zoe ever since she moved there three years ago. Can the two of them manage to get past the trauma they endured? Will their love spark and die or will it slowly burn and consume them in the best ways?
