The only way we can taste liberation is by living our whole life fully, engaging fully here and now. This ancient text, Isha Upanishad, teaches us how to celebrate life, to live it totally and absolutely, while also being liberated from it.
Anand is a master and a beautiful human being who has the capacity to explain complex, abstract ideas in simple, elegant words. I LOVED his other book "This Is That - Patanjali's Yoga Sutras Padas 1 and 2", "Liberation" attracted me by its amazing, enchanting, colourful cover. It was different, more complex, but also very enriching. I recommend it to anyone interested in yogic/vedic philosophy - enjoy! :)
Another powerful read for the yogi into yoga philosophy. This is not an easy read; however, Anand takes the reader through the Isha Upanishad step by step. If the reader can perservere it "all" becomes clear. To the author's point "it requires great maturity....available to all but few realize it." "It" being the message of the book as well as the action required on behalf of the reader. Anand reiterates over and over all we have is the here and the now. There is no sense in waiting for later or until we all get to heaven. Life is about here and now. Each day is fresh, clean, unused, we are to use it to its fullest. It is up to the reader to be ready anything that is offered. Focused on the present moment. Letting the past and the future go otherwise Karma (whatever that might be, suffering, ignorance, playing the victim), will bite us. A book to be revisited again and again.
