Sarah Wade is special. She has abilities no one else has, abilities she isn't supposed to use or even talk about. Her mother, Kaitlyn, has secrets. She's trying to shield Sarah from the truth about Sarah's abilities, about her own past, and about the mysterious white-haired man who's been following them both. But as teenaged Sarah grows into her powers and becomes more curious about their source, the truth begins to spill out into the light... and unfortunately, Kaitlyn might not be able to keep Sarah safe for much longer. Set in the Midwest in the tumultuous 1960s, Diastassi Connection is a classic coming-of-age story with a paranormal twist. While not a sequel to Biogenic Convergence, this standalone novel provides a backstory for a character that will be introduced in the fifth book in the Frozen Pandemic series, Transcendent Anomaly.
Sarah comes into her powers when she is six years old, when she incapacitated a bully with a thought, sending him an intense pain.
Her mother made her promise never to do it again. In addition to her abilities, Sarah has a quick and agile mind, sharp intelligence and an innate focus that allows her to intuitively understand how things work. Her first project was for a high school science fair. She designed and built a personal computer way ahead of anything being designed. Before she could present her project, a rival destroyed her computer, leaving nothing intact except for the transistors of the central processor. That remnant can open doors never imagined by the 18 year old girl from Potash, Missouri. As things are beginning to shine brightly for Sarah's future, her life takes a twist she never saw coming.
Brilliant characters and an amazing storyline turn this tale of the coming out of a young girl in an era where women were just beginning to leave the marriage bed to seek their way in the world. The path Sarah takes to her future is not a direction she ever would have thought or believed, but the twisting storyline follows her through her strange and so wonderful path. This is a great read that can only be a first meeting with the characters that will figure prominently in the rest of this series.
This fourth book in the series is well written and I know the purpose for it will be explained in the next book but it left me feeling a little bit lost. The characters for the most part were likeable but as I said it all felt disconnected. I'm going to read on and I'm sure all will be explained.
Very interesting introduction with this book. While mostly predictable, it was very enjoyable. Lots of suspense and unexpected twists. Anticipating the Rest of the Story…..
