All clean stories. Mixed thoughts. There were a couple of stories were very likeable. However, a lot of the stories were a bit simplistic, not awfully well written, and not true to etiquette of the day. For example in one story there’s a gentleman who has a dodgy reputation as known by apparently lots of other gentlemen and nobility, who is still welcomed at lots of parties because the men are not telling their wives about him. I am sure in reality the wives would have been warned to protect their own daughters and the knowledge would have been out there. In the same story a duchess, driven by status etc is initially not sure about a lord wishing to court their daughter - he is heir to a duke and of good character etc. Yes he is a bit of a clumsy dancer initially - but really? I repeat he is heir to a duke - I am sure most of the mamas would have been throwing their daughters at him - even if his character had been lacking! So why she’s concerned about his clumsy dancing defeats me. So bottom line is some stories are a bit samey, lack ‘realism’, but if looking for a box set to fill some time with a lot of stories in it, this might fit, especially if you get it on Kindle Unlimited so there is no cost, which I did. Not sure how I would feel if I had paid!
Both Charlotte Fitzwilliam & Eliza Heaton weave enchanting Regency romances
All of the stories were singularly enjoyable! I was able to feel the love between the main characters in every story without unnecessary detailed embellishments. It was refreshing to know that there are still writers out there who can tell GREAT Romances just through the story and the detailed characters.
These are ten sweet and clean short stories! Each one a stand alone. I love them as it doesn’t take long and if you finish one, you can do something else, and return to a completely new novel!
This box set provides hours of clean, "Happy ever after" love stories. The characters are well developed and stories move quickly cleanly forward. No mistakes in grammar or spelling to mar the enjoyment
