Of course, other genres float my boat as well; Sci-Fi, Thrillers, pretty much any Dark Fiction, but Horror is what I call home.
My first novel, Horror in the Woods, was released on in May 2017, and the second, The Demonic, on the the following July hitting multiple best seller lists. Since then, I have authored a number of horror novels that have terrified fans for the past few years.

1. A group of friendly unknowingly enter the woods that is said to be the home of a family of cannibals, who torture and eat those they capture. 2. Something is wrong in this asylum where Aidan is placed. They are there voluntary, but with the torture and experiments, they know they will never get out... 3. A sister searches for her missing brother who is believed to have joined a dangerous cult. The last she heard from him was a voicemail begging for her help, and the location of where he was. 3 stories of pure, extreme horror.
Wow this was incredible! My favourite was definitely the first story - it was EXTREME and brutal and just felt more like a story I would read. But the other two were absolutely incredibly written and brutal. I loved the little 'link' of the stories at the end, it was a fantastic way to finish it. Definitely a good horror read 📚
I'd border between 2.5 and 3 stars. The series definitely gets better as it goes.
The first story I really did not like. It's just 4 unlikable people arguing before it changes over to a family of cannibals arguing. The plot twists were very predictable, and people did not act like logical people. The writing is not that good, and most of the horror is just body horror. Lots of blood, guts, and things you would not want being ripped out or cut off, ripped out, and cut off. Yet, it all felt so bland to me. I think some of the splatter punk I have read has dulled me, but it really did not land for me.
The second story picks up more. Even though the story has more characters and viewpoints to juggle, it still comes off much better written. Some characters actually come off as likable, and there is more flavor to the horror. From general mistreatment and torture of inmates to more of that body horror to a sad and depressing ending. Nothing ends well for anyone here.
The final story was my favorite of all 3. Small costal towns with eldrich secrets are basically story cocain for my brain, I can never get enough of them. Still, they vary in quality, and this one is in the upper B+s on my grading scale. I really enjoyed the gumshoe detective work the protagonist does when first exploring the town. The back half of the book is fun and interesting when all hell breaks loose. Letting the most refined writing of guts and organs ripped out the series has to offer really shine. I actually liked this whole series more as separate stories. I didn't like how it's revealed that all the stories happened in the same world. Maybe it's because i really didn't like the first story, or that book 3 could have ended just first in the previous secens before the prolog.
If you made it this far, skip the first book and listen to the other 2 of you like bloody body horror with nothing to out there. You can just pretend those are the only 2 books in their own world or not.

Absolutely fascinating. The first book was kind of poorly written, not too much, it was still good. But the next two, wow. The writer's writing skills shone bright and evolved greatly. Not to mention the stories were mind blowing. The way he divided it into many strings and in the end tied all of the books together perfectly, It was amazing. Lovecraftian vibes. I couldn't stop reading, it was so interesting. Amazing, amazing and amazing.
These were fantastic stories. The most surprising of the stories was the first. At first I couldn't picture how it would play out. Once I realized I was even surprised qnd shocked
This book was gross, it was horrifying, it was uncomfortable to read, and MY GOD i couldn't put it down! 😂 The fact three 'seperate' stories tied together at the very end was perfect. Lee has done it again with another amazing set of stories!
I'm not much for alien stories but these three books had me absolutely hooked. The descriptions of the horror and gore were chilling, turning my stomach.
This was exactly the type of trilogy I was looking to sink my teeth into (pardon the pun). Amazing and I'm already getting the others downloaded to continue my macabre joy with Mountford's writing.
