Finding their podmate might cost them their lives…

Piety is a Jezebel, or so the members of her cult believe. Yet surely big breasts didn’t make you a seductress, did they? There had to be a more sinister reason why the men within their isolated compound were treating her like a whore.

To Danan warriors a podmate is a precious and unique gift they search the galaxy to find. When Visor and his brothers get permission to seek their podmate on Earth, they willingly agree to do so in secret. Visor soon discovers their gift living as a member of a fanatical religious cult in the Australian bush. Unfortunately, he’s not the only one who believes Piety is his podmate.

Secrets and lies abound as a sheltered girl makes choices that might take her light-years from all she’s ever known and put those she’s come to love in life-threatening danger.

Nhys Glover is an Australian born award-winning author of over 75 romance novels. She is known for blending heart, heat, and a touch of the extraordinary in her stories. From time-traveling lovers to soul-deep polyamory connections, her work explores love in all its transformational forms.
Now living in Durham County UK, Nhys draws on her background in teaching and spiritual inquiry for inspiration in her writing. As she sits at her desk, staring out at the windy moors, she often reflects on what it means to stay human in an increasingly digital world. It is, after all, the subject of her newest book, a non-fiction called Authenticity, as Taught by a Machine.
But no matter the genre, Nhys is always chasing one thing: the truth at the heart of every story.

First half of the book is 3 stars and other half just 2. Here's why. While story is on earth, reader gets logical reactions from heroes. At least they are believable in situations presented, even if they are a bit over the top. Did I enjoy it? Somewhat. I couldn't relate to heroine or what she went through, but that was to be expected. The second half-after leaving Earth is where story went sour for me. I hate when characters do 180° without reasoning. For me this part failed in both events and characters. I lost interest.

If you want a light reading and don't put any expectations for quality or storyline, this may be to your liking. For me it was a bit too simplistic, maybe even infantile to truly enjoy.

Doesn’t Dissapoint!

Piety, member of a strict religous isolated community, is thrust into a lifechanging event when she meets a tall, handsome stranger when it’s her turn to go into the nearby town for supplies. Little does she know that all she knows and loves will never be the same as she is forced to make a decision to stay and face punishment and probable banshment from her family or follow her heart to the stars.

Not as good as previous stories in the series

The female character did not seem believable within the initial setting in my opinion. Someone who had lived and breathed in a fanatic religious commune, would not adapt so quickly to a completely opposite point of view.
I also did not feel the bond between the brothers as in previous stories.

Excellent read

I liked the heroine and her males- all very likable characters. The whole cult in the Australian bush was unique and engaging. A book I definitely didn’t want to put down until I finished it!

Uncomfortable

I have really liked the series tho this point, however the first 2/3 of the book happen in a cult compound. The twisted religion and oppression just let me feeling icky about the whole book.

Really great!

I love this series I must say! Each story seems to flow into the other. The author imbues it with such emotion that you feel for each character.
Gift, the latest in the Danan series, is one of the most outstanding to my mind.
It involves a young woman who grows up in a fanatically religious sect and who is ignorant of the world. Her name is Piety and she is the daughter of the leader of the sect. How she remains so good and naive is a wonder!
Then there is Wraith, a Danan who was captured as a child and sold into slavery. He has spent twenty years at the rock face in various asteroids, never seeing the sky. Once freed, he somehow makes his way to Earth where he meets Piety.
Last of all we have three Danan brothers; Visor, Zaron and Yatis. Visor is the thinker, Zaron is the fighter and Yatis is the diplomat who the others say could sell ice to an Eskimo. They are on Earth (Gaia to them) looking for their podmate.
Destiny has decreed that these five meet and life changes for them all.
This story has so much going on that makes you think and makes you feel! I felt the hypocrisy in her sect which blamed her for her natural beauty and where even her brother called her a jezebel.
I felt Wraith’s pain for all that he’d lost and I felt the confusion and joy that the pod brothers went through.
This is a story that has haunted me since reading it. So much feeling! Really excellent.
