FIVE HEART-STOPPING POLICE PROCEDURALS AT A KILLER PRICE!
This bundle of Kimberly Amato’s complete Jasmine Steele detective series is made-to-order for fans of hard-boiled police procedurals and badass female sleuths… not to mention bargains! Those who can't get enough of the exciting new wave of hard-boiled women sleuths, created by writers like Megan Abbott, Laura Lippmann, Lisa Lutz, and Vicki Hendricks will love Amato’s take-no-prisoners style, her unflinching attention to harrowing detail, and her tough-as-nails but soft-hearted detective.
Lovers of traditional mysteries will appreciate the web of fierce loyalty tempered with fearful caution that links Jazz’s tiny but hardy support system—both at work and at home. In every tale, Amato manages to mix all the excitement of an action thriller with the swirling emotions of a mainstream psychological novel.
STEELE INTENT
Shrewd, hardened New York homicide detective Jasmine (Jazz) Steele’s just come back from a grisly crime scene involving the body of a brutally-beaten young girl—the second she's investigated this week— when she receives an anonymous phone call: "Don't think you're untouchable…you or your son." Then a dial tone...
No one is spared tough breaks and/or turbulent anguish in Kimberly Amato’s hard-boiled yet deeply emotional police procedural, . A lesser cop than Jazz would barely be able to cope.
MELTING STEELE
In Jasmine Steele’s heartbreaking new case, an entire family's been viciously murdered.Hard-boiled alert: author Kimberly Amato pulls no punches. The mother's throat was slit while trying to call for help and the father was shot in the chest, then gruesomely sliced up while still alive, like a scene from a horror film. Also found, the body of their young son, about Jazz’s son’s age, left in the closet with a snapped neck. But it's the remaining clues to a missing fourth victim—a teenage daughter named Kaley—that leave Jazz reeling. Kaley's seemingly disappeared without a trace.
Soon Jazz discovers that the family had plenty of disturbing skeletons in its closet. Skeletons possibly warranting hiring a hit man on the Internet.
BREAKING STEELE
Gory video game violence comes home to roost when two store managers are brutally murdered in the back room of their gaming shop just before peek holiday season. The corporation that owns the store is doing everything it can to keep the matter quiet—but they won’t succeed if detective Jasmine Steele cracks the case. A fast-paced police procedural that’s as gripping as it is eerily personal. And this one comes with a captivating (although, as Jazz might say, a slightly “nerdy”) bonus: a heaping dose of the fascinating ins and outs of video game subculture. Which is far more murderous than the average reader would suspect.
COLD STEELE
Jazz gets a rude awakening when a 3-year-old cold case comes back hot. New York City’s “Carnation Killer,” a serial rapist and murderer, leaves his fifth calling card on a woman named Emilia Smith. The calling card? A heart-shaped carving into the woman’s chest and a single white carnation.
Emilia’s last night alive was spent at a college bar that sparks Jasmine’s least happy memory—the very same establishment that served as a backdrop to her own early adult years, a past defiled and traumatized by a dangerous man. Just as Jazz is finally happy in her personal and professional lives, her bone-chilling trauma comes rushing back. And the Carnation Killer is still out there.
STEELE SHIELD
Jasmine’s nearest and dearest find themselves tangled in a web of terrifying cyberbullying, hair-raising stalking, sexual harassment, and murder—with Jazz stuck in the middle. Jazz heads up an investigation that quickly falls down the sordid rabbit hole of the darker, more twisted side of social media, all the while fearing for her loved ones.
Kimberly Amato crafts mysteries that explore social issues and the complexities of relationships through compelling characters and thought-provoking themes. As the author of the Jasmine Steele Mystery Series, she delivers gritty police procedurals from a unique perspective. Kimberly's novels offer readers a journey of self-reflection, inviting them to challenge their own perspectives and find connection in unexpected places. When not writing, she and her wife, Sheila, co-host Forever Fangirls, a TV/film review channel.
I just finished reading the first 5 books of the ‘Jasmine Steele’ series. I had never read anything by Kimberly Amato before, but thoroughly enjoyed this box set.
Ms. Amato writes in a very clear and concise manner. Her characters, story arcs and descriptions work to make the reader feel he or she is in the middle of all the action and drama.
The Protagonist - Detective Steele - is a thoroughly dedicated professional with all the flaws, idiosyncrasies and doubts we all have. But she also has the dedication, strength and perseverance that makes her a brilliant detective.
Det. Steele, along with her ‘supporting cast’ of friends & colleagues (Frankie, Chase, Will, Karina, Victor, Hadley, Logan, et.al.), has an obsession to see the guilty punished, the victims give closure and her own demons controlled.
I’ve already recommended Ms. Amato & Det. Steele to friends and relatives who enjoy a great crime story. If you, also, give Jasmine a chance, you won’t be disappointed.
I really enjoyed all 5 books. I loved that the lead character is a strong lesbian woman. And I loved all of the characters especially Victor who I saw as a gay man until they said he had a wife! I loved his attitude towards jasmine and how well her friends seemed to understand her despite how messed up she was. She was always too busy taking care of her friends and family to take care of herself. But in the end, she was finally able to heal and I loved that all of her issues were dealt with.
I was very disappointed when Logan died at the end. I really thought he was going to make it!!! The only downside to the books were the long chapters. Most of them were 20-30 minutes long. Which only sucks when I have to stop in the middle and there's no good stopping point! But overall. a good read. I will be looking for more books from this author.

Once you get past all the editing errors the stories are so good. That Jasmine is a lesbian only adds to the level of value of the books. Listen to the heart inside the stories and understand that loving is what really matters. Who cares who you love or who loves you? Having love in your life is what really matters. When you find it hold it tight, it's what makes life worth living. Of course the stories of murder and mayhem added to the crime fighting and solving make the stories worth tripping over the editing. Enjoy. It's worth it.
Finding the truth is worth the freedom it will bring
When working as a detective who's had personal experience with professional and personal tragedy, you can being your experience, but not your temper to work with you. Lots of characters growing, changing, and evolving through out this series. Interesting read, and follow evidence, and non stop action, makes you feel for our Detective Steele. Will the pressure be enough to break her? For those of us with families that are part of thr thin blue line I offer respect to all who heat the call and do the job.
Fantastic Box Set of Jasmine Steele Mysteries - Vol. 1-5
I LOVE this series so much... Edge of your seat action, excitement, nervewracking crime solving... It's a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs & twists and turns... You could read each book on its own but you won't want to stop reading after the first book... Highly recommend to those loving a great crime mystery... A slight warning, there is some swearing and some mental issues situations but it's a fantastic series... 5 Stars from me 😄
Read the five books in one week, because I just could not stop! So much angst, so much human-ness! Storylines are tense, but not so much as to be unbelievable. Characters are so well developed. It’s wonderful to have a plot centered on a lesbian couple living life and facing challenges and joys, but their lesbianism is just “coincidental” to the plot, not the main focus. I loved these books! I want more 😉
The Jasmine Steele Mysteries Series Vol 1-5 are the first books I have read by Author, Kimberly Amato but they won't be the last. I was hooked from the first page of the first book until the last page of the last book. From the excellent character building to the interesting storylines, these books held my interest and each book had me wanting to more. I am looking forward to reading more stories by this Author.
I just finished reading this series which was suggested by a good friend of mine. I love the way the main character is constantly conflicted and struggling, who isn't right now. I don't want to give away anything but she is flawed, but she continues to fight for herself and family and it is lovely to read and see.
Good stories. A good cast of characters. Violent themes but not graphic. Strong female leads. Jasmine seems to be rooted in the past. With good reason but it was just a bit repetitive. With the kind of support the author surrounded her with she didn't need to be so tortured?
Fast moving stories with unusual, unique characters. Plenty of psychological weirdness and off-the-norm relationships. Also, many grammatical errors and incorrect use of words and spelling. Just have to ignore them and keep reading. The author keeps the action going, making this reader hopeful that there are not that many bloody murders in reality. But I stuck it out to the end and enjoyed.
I usually give all authors a 4 or 5 star rating—basically because they have put something memorable to paper. But this series is not something I feel the same way towards. I do not like the dream sequences that is focused upon, probably personal preference but too much for me to even want to continue my reading—2 books was more than enough for me.
As a mystery fan, I enjoyed this series of books . The writing is excellent and plot lines were surprising at times. When the last word was read , I went hunting another book by KM.
I loved, loved, loved this mystery series...with the strong-willed, highly intelligent female Police Detective.... with her wonderful, loving, chosen family. Buy the entire series & you won't be disappointed!
Fascinating characters. Plotlines that have you on the edge of your seat, while also wanting to hide your eyes. Steele is the epitome of your hard-hitting, never say never investigator who doesn't know when to quit. You're going to love these books!
1st book in set of 5. Jasmine Steele is NYPD detective trying to raise her young nephew whose parents were killed in car crash. Some family/friend dynamics. Then there's a rogue cop. Real page turner.
We are a sum of our parts, history making a different now for us every day. More than enough Gore to go around, with a flawed main character that just tries to do the best she can while others try to reign her in. Justice doesn't always vain, but you have to keep trying.
I felt each of these 5 books blended into the next. The characters are relatable to people in our lives. The storylines were interesting. Would read subsequent books...as the end of book 5 leads into the next story.
I had read a book from this collection before. I enjoyed all five books immensely!!! I loved the characters and their families. The plot was interesting and well developed! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries!!!😊
Too much psycho and angst for me to like the protagonist. Read first book and gave up. Action was odd and story jumped back in time for unexplainable reasons.
Read the 1-5 series. Enjoyed it very much. Jasmine is a super cop and seems like she always gets her man. Looking forward to reading more stories about Jasmine Steele.
