In 27 Days Educator's Guide is a companion to In 27 Days by Alison Gervais. This guide can be utilized in the classroom, in a home school setting, or by parents seeking additional resources. Ideal for grades 7-12.
My first actual ENGLISH book that I fully read and finished and I have to say that I loved how the story had a nice flow. I loved how the tension grew between Hadley and Archer after each interaction.
Sometimes I cringed a LITTLE bit on the writing, but that did not overpower the story at all whatsoever.
Hadley is very optimistic and I could see myself doing the same thing just because it FEELS some type of way. Idk we both cray cray sometimes but I understood her way of thinking and handling situations. “I can fix him ahh” mindset
Fuck the Pythagorean theorem AND Archer making fun of Hadley for not understanding that because it was “basic mathematics” I myself can testify that the Pythagorean theorem is like a never endin cycle of confusion that eats your brains up little by little.
Read this if you genuinly want to read a good book. (This is coming from a picky reader)

In 27 days is a good book. Hadley makes a deal, going back in time to save Archer in the certain about of time she was given for the deal. Through out the process Archer is wondering why know of all time is Hadley is wanting to be friends with him, but they soon grow to be really close. The book is very interesting because you don't really know until the end if she is going to be able to help him and save him so you are always wondering. Personally, the book is good and would recommend this book to others.
Last week I just finished reading this book. I really need to tell you about this book, It's one of the best books I've ever read and you need to read it too😘. The story starts with Hadley, a normal 16 year old teenager who was in the High School, her life was completely normal until a colleague (Archer Morales) of school killed himself. After she receives the news a strange feeling of guilt takes her and she thinks that she needs to do something, so she went to his funeral to talk with his family. When she arrived at the funeral she came across a very strange person that started talking to her, he was called the "death" and gave her a chance to go back 27 days in the past to try to make Archer not want to kill himself. Hadley needs to have a lot of determination and courage to cross the death challenges. In the middle of the story, we realize that the author really wanted to give the readers a different perspective of the feelings of a person who had her life messy and almost completely lost. I will not give you spoilers about what happens in the end but I'm sure that you will really love this story. 📘 Reading this book is very engaging and it talks about choices, friendship and love. Hadley needed to make important decisions for just a 16 year-old teenager. An important thing that I forgot is that the narrator of this story goes back to the character flashbacks to make the story better than it was, he talks about the feelings of the characters and we realize that these choices will change the role of the story. You will fall in love with the couple that will emerge🥰 I also read another review on the Goodreads and that person said the book is not only about choices, but about the love story that grows later. I think about it and I agree, because the book shows courage but hope and romance too. I also shared my review with my classmate Sofia by email, and she said the flashbacks helped her understand Archer’s pain more, while I thought they showed Hadley’s growth. Talking online about it made me see things I didn’t notice before.
It's a really beautiful book. Their chemistry was totally amazing. If you want to read a book with a nice fast plot, warm characters with a pinch of Fantasy/sci fic then go for it.
Pre-reading questions (Answering them after reading though): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 analysed. I did not realise that death and havoc draw from greek mythology.
Post-reading questions. 1. Massive impact. She prevented his suicide, and his defences did come down. 2. Balanced and perfectly imperfect. 3. Well I suppose life itself is a balancing act. 4. I did not actually extensively research. I will take the author's word on this. 5. Because chaos is attractive. People might not want to be a part of it but they sure do love to look. 6. His biological dad. His PTSD. His constant loneliness. Inspite of all this I do not think he had a reason to kill himself. 7. For the better for sure. She earned a family. She got a job. She learnt of herself. She made amends with her parents. She was not lonely any more. 8. I think both of their lives changed a lot. Hadley saw a new world and Archer got a new li=fe literally. 9. Theme: Love, family, friendship, PTSD, trauma, giving and accepting help, Suicide, Murder, Church, Faith, Death and chaos, Words, Patience, Support, LOneliness vs alone, Italian food. 10. It was Hadley's POV throughout , so, as a reader I see the world of the novel through her lens. I agreed with most of her decisions and perceptions , so, I found the read to be enjoyable. But I did want Archer's perspective on so many things. 11. Tyler saying Archer's dad is in Jail, Rosie saying her Dad is dead, all things havoc, the accident with Carlos, the major accident with hadley built up the suspense for me. I think tension leads to suspense in some ways because you are tense whilst reading the scene, the characters are tense and you know a curve ball is coming the character's way, will they make it? 12. 1-3: Tragedy, Leap of faith 4-20: Annoyed at Archer, Curious 21-34: Tears of pain, Tears of Joy
Activities: 1. I teared up , I laughed, I was scared , I felt hope, I felt despair and I was annoyed. I love a book that makes me feel a mixbag of emotions. 2. A little off-balance right now honestly. 3. I do not do fan-fiction (manacled being the only exception). Can't the author do this for the readers as a christmas present??

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. My favorite character is Carlo because of his playful, lighthearted attitude, observance, and even a bit of slyness. Such as flirting with Hadley to get Archer jealous. He's clearly teasing him, and he understands that Archer cares for Hadley and is only trying to get him to show that to her. The story is fun overall, but I find that the message wasn't ill-intended yet also simplistic in its worldview. From the way I see it, I find that the idea of helping those who are in need is a strong message in itself. However, I find that this story doesn't execute it well because helping someone is one thing, but saving someone is another. This unintentionally sends the message to people that they are in the end, responsible for someone else's life, when that clearly shouldn't be the case. The romance may feel good if you don't think about it too much, yet if one does then this relationship doesn't seem healthy when considering the fact that the goal for Hadley is to go back in time to save a stranger from killing themselves. This makes the chemistry between the two seem forced when looking from that perspective because Hadley is only spending time with Archer because she knows the future for Archer and his family was grim and wants to save him. I'll end this review off with a question brought up in my literacy club: Would she even choose to go rescue him if he didn't just so happen to be sitting next to her in class, and just so happened to be a bystander to her friends bullying him?

After the shock of Arthur Morales’s suicide, Hadley Jamison makes a deal with Death.
We’re given an overview of the book In 27 Days.
Biographical information on Alison Gervais; apparently she is a frequent poster on a website called Wattpad.
This is a lesson for Dan to read blurbs. I legit thought this was nonfiction that had, like, management advice and shit. Or…suggestions on making work-related improvements in 27 days. It’s not. It’s supposed to be teaching material for a whole other novel. 💀
Discussion topics and questions, take-home work…that are uninspired. The average reviewer on GR has more interesting things to say about what she has read.
The whole thing is hard to gauge as the titular novel sounds simultaneously reductive and childish.
Things I didn't like about the book. The kissing parts made no sense. Like, Archer showed no affection for Hadley and then they just kiss? Also, how can Death be a person? Some weird old dude who looks half dead. And why would she just leave her friends for some boy she doesn't even talk to? Things I did like about the book. She went to Archer's funeral even though she never even talked to him. She also was willing to sacrifice her life for a boy she doesn't even know.
I loved this book, there was problems and Hadley was able to continue her goal which was to save Archer Morals. There was a point that Hadley was unsure of if she would be able to accomplish her goal, and there was other times where she was sure she would be able to. I feel like I would recommend this book to so many people because of how likeable the author made it.
IN 27 days was an incredible book with a lot of action! The main character Hadley, went through a lot of challenges and she didn't understand why Archer ever wanted to commit suicide. She becomes best friends with Archer and wants to get to know him more after he refuses to get along with her. I recommend this book because it has everything. Drama, romance, and action.
Ok I read this because of tiktok like I do everything else and I'm aware that it's a wattpad story and has some grammatical errors but I swear I actually loved it like it was just so digestible and like the author could've extended my pain but instead she cut it short just the way I like it.
First time I read this was on Wattpad while it was being written. Now reading it as an adult it still hits the same. It still makes me cry. It still makes me think. So worth the read.
One star for nostalgia, and otherwise a really sweet read. This had me in a chokehold in my wattpad days. It gave birth to the grumpy/sunshine frenzy. Thank you Archer and Hadley🫡
