Dalin and Xiaolin is a classical children's fairy tale collection written by Zhang Tianyi. It mainly narrates a pair of brothers' completely different life experiences. The elder brother Dalin became a rich man's son by chance, but by the corrosion of corrupted life he lost the capability of surviving gradually, and died of hunger finally on a lonely island where there were only a pile of treasures; the younger brother Xiaolin encountered bad persons at the beginning, but with endless endeavors he finally escaped from the bad person's control with his companion and became a train driver. The expressions are exaggerated and humorous and every image is exaggerated but vivid. The book depicts from the side the upper class people's luxury and corruption as well as the common people's hard life, which makes people think deeply after reading.
