Collecting Stars is a 100,000-word, third-person, sci-fi F/F romance Omegaverse novel. It is the fourth book in The Alpha God series. It contains g!p material* as well as intimate scenes suitable for mature readers. This book does have a cliffhanger and plot twists that carry throughout the series. G!P content. No rape. No cheating. No shifters. No fempreg. But plenty of plot.

Lexa Luthor is an avid writer and reader of the Omegaverse trope especially including F/F pairing. In her books, each main character(s) is a strong-willed female, who navigates difficult situations but always ends up finding love with their mate. Every tale has a twist and is gripping, sexy, and even a bit adventurous.

When not writing, Lexa enjoys binge watching television shows like Game of Thrones, Gentleman Jack, or The L Word. Her other favorite hobbies are playing cornhole, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, and laying around the pool in the summer. At times, Lexa finds time to read romances (both dark and fluffy) and great sci-fi books but nothing else can beat a steamy, downright erotic F/F romance with biting, knotting, and slightly possessive love.

I just can't get enough of this series! If you want to start this series also check out my review of the first book: https://lesfic.home.blog/2020/01/12/d...

After a great prologue, this book starts where book three stopped: Charlie crashing down on Kander. Again. Crashing down on Kander seems to be her thing and it gives this book a page-turning start.

This book is different from the earlier books in this series. Where Charlie goes out into space in the first books, in this book she stays on Kander. She does visit "higher places" so to speak and those parts of this book really intrigued me. (read it to know what I'm talking about)

The pages turn themselves in this book. There is plenty of action and the way the storyline continues is great. With action, I mean both in missions and in the bedroom. The latter especially is evolving to a level that I particularly enjoyed. Again more intimate than the last book but still - how shall I put this... - with vigour and passion.

After chapter 3, the book will slow down a little. In those slower parts, Luthor lets you get to know the characters and their relationship on a deeper level. I noticed Charlie herself developing into a person who is less concerned about her own wellbeing and more about that of other people. Now that I write this down it sounds strange to talk this way about a space missionary who lives with the knowledge that in her job every minute can be her last.

Because Charlie is on Kander this long stretch of time you might wonder about the dynamics between Kal and her. I must say that Luthor did a great job in balancing those things out. I think readers will enjoy their time together in this book, both in- and outside the bedroom ;)

This book finishes with a cliffhanger and although I - a person with no patience and lover of instant gratification - hate cliffhangers. But Luthor would disappoint me if there wasn't one. This cliffhanger made me freak out a little because I'm scared of what is to come. So Luthor, make it scary next time, haha.

As a final remark, I'm going to be upfront about my desire to want to read stand-alone spin-offs of other characters in this book.

I’m coming off a two day Alpha God binge. I read through the whole series again before starting Collecting Stars. I enjoy revisiting this series. It’s epic.
I absolutely in love Charlie and Kal! I’m enjoying the continued development of their relationship and feelings about one another. They continue to learn new things about each other. We also get to learn more of their past in this book. My heart aches for them to have the mating bite! With every book they seem to occupy more and more space in my heart, as well as, the handful of other amazing other characters like Andren, Kaden, Raina, Dorlon, and Larken. I love getting all of the glimpses of Sumner underneath the Kal armor.
I really enjoyed learning more about Carnec Alpha’s anatomy, and the anti-rut process they go through.
In book 4 we definitely got some more world/universe building. We learn more of the history of Kal, the previous Kander, and Kalmar and other creatures who have occupied the planet. I really enjoyed Luthor’s new take on plants, gods, and spirits. I’m looking forward to learning more of the omega god of Kander.
Settling the Alpha Prime issue becomes a priority. I like how Kal focuses on one issue at a time and knows that they need to settle the dispute with Alpha Prime so they aren’t have to fight against multiple enemies when the Sworne arrive. I was very worried that there would be a cliff hanger durning the battle with Alpha Prime. I’m so happy to see them dealt with, but the cliff hanger we were left with is a nail biter! I can’t wait for the next book!!!!

4.25 stars. I was waiting for this book, because do I love this series! These books are pretty unique and not only because they are set in the Omegaverse (there are not many published F/F Omegaverse works and Luthor is the queen of this trope), but they have excellent worldbuilding, and interesting sci-fi storylines and characters. These books have to be read in order and for explanations on Omegaverse (and G!P content) please have a look at the author’s blog and decide from there if this interests you.

This book is set solely on Kander where Charlie is coming to terms with her past and where she and Kal are preparing for a war to come. But before they are ready for the war they need the entire nation united, which is complicated by interference of Alpha Prime (a radical anti-human group). I didn’t think this is the best of the series so far (that would be the 2nd and 3rd book for me), but I still loved reading it. The book is rather long (about twice the length of the first book) and I felt that the pace slowed down at some points. It could have been shortened a bit, but it didn’t bother me much. Furthermore, there is as usual quite a bit of action, but I felt it was a bit less than in the other books. It seems the story is really building towards the big war to come. I enjoyed learning more about Charlie’s past and about Kander and its god Kalatas. In the previous books there are some hints at spiritual connections between Charlie and Kal and I was hoping/expecting to read more about that in this book, and, although there are some spiritual connections, they were not the ones that I expected. I’m curious to see if we get to see this in the coming books. The relationship between Charlie and Kal is still growing (in and outside the bedroom) which is quite a feat considering that this is the 4th book in the series, but it seems there is still enough to be discovered between the two and I look forward to see how this continues in the following books. And yes, there is of course plenty of steam in the bedroom, still NSFW :-) The book ends as usual with a cliffhanger, which still annoys me, but I’m sort of getting used to it and I thought this cliffhanger is not too bad as it really signifies the start of a new part of the story.

An excellent fourth installment! If you’re looking for sci-fi in the Omegaverse trope, I highly recommend this series!

5 Stars - Love this story line, love this couple. Super hot!!

I think this is my favorite book of the series so far. I am a sucker for true love and Charlie and Kal are closer as a couple in this book and it's so swoon worthy. I liked the fact that Charlie is allowed to risk her life and be as brave and daring as Kal. I was happy that Charlie stayed on the planet the whole time, so they got a lot of screen time together. Their sex life continues to be very active and smoking hot, with some developments heading towards them exploring more of Kal's "omega" side attributes and desires. The big baddies are on the horizon and I am can't wait to see how Luthor gets our heroes out this next mess! :)

Impatiently waiting for book 5 coming in Feb 2021.

My Alpha. My mate. Mine.

When I started this series I read the first three back-to-back-to-back, then I had to wait for the fourth. I worried that by the time I got around to it, my memory would be lacking, but Luthor did a great job at refreshing my memory and I fell back into the groove of things quite naturally. The Alpha God series is not the norm for me, well, it wasn't the norm for me a few years ago. I had been searching for something with teeth (pun intended ;)) and something edgy, raw, exciting. I accidently stumbled upon the first book and was immediately drawn to the cover, and thought, what the hell? Oh, am I ever glad I took a chance on this one. This installment, just like the last three, delivered big time. I was enthralled by all the action and the witty sarcasm banter between all the different species. The group as a whole felt more real the more they grew attuned to one another and sometimes it was rather funny. I wouldn't consider Kal, the Alpha God, commander in charge, muscles for days and a "hard" libido that lasted longer, an Ice Queen, per say. She was more like a snarly beast with sharp fangs, but falling in love and making love to her destined mate seemed to have softened her for the better. Don't get me wrong, Kal was and still is as fierce and protective, if not more than ever before, but battling between the Spirit within her and her past life, then on top of that, dealing with Charlie who doesn't understand the word no, Kal still wasn't afraid to show her Alpha side and demand respect. And, yowza! When her Alpha side emerged... Whoo! I had to change the smoke detector's batteries in my house. The sex between Kal and Charlie was a delicious combination of tender and rough. I'm not into the male species and I went in a novice with this series regarding the whole g!p aspect of it. I was pleasantly surprised when we got a first glimpse at Kal and everything that made her, her. I crave strap-on sex in whatever book I read, so this was a treat because it was real, but not once was I thinking of men and their members. It's exactly how it's described, a girl penis. And there's a hidden treasure under all that girth. ;)

I admit, whenever I open up a new story in this series, I'm filled with excited anticipation to see Kal and Charlie together, because they are so in love, so right for each other, which makes the sex all the more better. Another fiver from me!

Oh. My. God.

I haven't been as invested in a story as much as this in a while! It's perfect! This is probably going to sound super strange but I have never been so turned on by a battle scene in all my life! Kal!! Be still my beating heart!

Without spoilers, this book and these characters are so well-written that Kal could literally do anything and I'd show my neck in submission, lol! She is amazing, and one of my most loved characters ever! I cannot wait for the next book in the series... For real, can't wait! Highly recommend this series, and anything else this author writes. I have read everything written so far and recommend every single one. You won't be disappointed.

My favourite story in the series thus far. The whole plan regarding the Alpha Prime and missing humans was brilliant.

Also, Kaden is an acceptable name for the locke... but Kumo woulda been better, just sayin'.

I held out as long as I could. There are so many other books I'm supposed to be reading...not to mention the ones I'm supposed to be writing. But I can't seem to stay away for long.
For a hot second I thought this was going to be the first book that didn't end in a cliff hanger. No. Curse you, Sworne.
Another engaging installment, this time with Charlie and Kal collaborating on their misadventure . Lots of one on one time (without having sex) which was lovely as they learned more about each other and respect and understanding grew between them. Don't worry, still lots of sexy times.
The next two books are in my cart but I will resist as long as I can. Resistance is futile.

Edit to add: I barely waited three hours before ordering the next two books

Lexa Luthor has once again written a story that captures you and doesn’t let go! The continuing saga of Charlie and Kal has me invested more with each book in the series, adventure and romance rolled together in perfect combination. Contains wonderfully written erotic content and is NSFW!

I tried savoring this book as much as possible, because I knew the next one isn't here yet for me to enjoy!

Another amazing adventure with Charlie and Kal! Great romance scenes that keep being refreshing!

Learned more about Charlie, Raine and Dorlon. I'm really curious about Andrens story aswell. Can't wait for the next adventure, eventhough I have the feeling the next one will be even more taxing on all of them.

Great Sci-fi Action Romance

So far (this is the fourth book) the series is a good read. The action is great and the author writes a compelling scene. I’m drawn in totally but the action doesn’t last long enough - then we are right back into the MC’s intimate lives - I know the series is F/F erotica but I found myself rolling my eyes (and I am a card carrying futanari/G!P enthusiasts). I hope for more action to enrich the storyline and less about the size of Kal’s dick. This author has the gift and I can’t wait to see where she goes with it.

I pre-ordered the next installment. I’m a fan :)

Entertaining, perfectly paced and hot as hell, Kal/Sumner & Charlie’ story keeps improving. My heart breaks with every flashback and I’m enjoying like crazy how Kal and Charlie evolve and develop as a couple. And then we have the Sworne…. This series is simply perfect

What is it about Lexa’s books that I love so much? And why can’t I hardly wait till the book 5 comes out? This one, book 4 of the Charlie en Kal story as I call it, was longer that the former and I tried to read as slow as possible. As the other ones the sex (G!p scenes and somewhat reverse action) were hotter that hot as usual. As in 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. But there were also more emotions between our two ladies. More chemistry(if possible), more heat, more trust. More mates without being formally mates. I love the Locke. I held my breath at a scary part. But that end....Lexa really hates us. Is it January or February yet??? More than 5 stars yet again.

Holy hell, that cliffhanger ending.

CHARACTER IMPRESSIONS:
Charlie
Charlie’s still reckless as always, but she’s also the one who has the best plans. She stepped up more than she ever thought she would in this story, and became part of something bigger than herself. I was cheering for her during the entire novel.

More of Charlie’s past was revealed and I loved learning new information about her mother.

I do wish she faced a bit more consequence for putting her friends’ lives in danger though. I get why she did what she did. With limited time and more lives on the line, it was the best choice she made, but she did injure two of her closest friends. She had a small moment of regret for getting them hurt but I would have liked to see her own up to it more before they forgave her.

Other than that, I loved seeing her and Kal finally working together instead of apart in this story. It was lovely seeing their protectiveness over each other on full display.

Kal / Sumner
Aside from portions of Charlie’s past being shown, more of Kal’s past as Sumner is also revealed. One piece of backstory was something my heart wasn’t prepared for, but that’s just me.

It feels like there’s more of Kal in this story compared to the previous ones, because instead of Charlie going on missions then returning to Kal, the two of them are finally working together and it’s the best thing in the world. It’s awesome seeing Kal actually rule, take command, and lead her soldiers. Even though she was already Kal since the start of Book 1, she’s still growing as a leader and it shows.

My favorite bits weren’t just Kal taking charge on the field or when she’s in bed with Charlie, but when she lets herself be vulnerable around Charlie. I’m pretty sure Charlie is the only person on Kander who has ever seen Kal be doubtful of herself.

MINOR CHARACTERS:
I fucking love Andren with all my heart. She’s becoming one of my favorite fictional characters. I love her unwavering loyalty to Kal. I love her friendship with Raine and Charlie, even if she’s the butt of their teasing. Her deadpan reactions and unexpected remarks adds to the trio and I hope their bond only grows from here.

Raine is still the best. The best wing woman, best friend, and best partner you could ask to break into and out of a prison with. I hope nothing happens to her because my heart would break if she sustained any injuries beyond healing.

I’m so happy to see more of Dorlon. The woman is always either on duty or running around making sure others are doing theirs. If you read the short story from Kal’s point of view set during this story, found on the author’s website, you bet I was disheartened to learn Dorlon may not like Raine in the way I was thinking. I mean, even Charlie thinks they’re a good match. Andren thought Dorlon had a thing for Raine too. It’s hinted Dorlon likes someone else and I hope to god Dorlon isn’t secretly in love with Charlie. I mean, come on. Really, Dorlon? Raine is right there!

I didn’t think the Spirit of Kalatas would have so much more to explore, but with each new installment, there are things I never expected to come to light and I love every bit of it.

The locke. This little critter is a fun addition to the group and I love her attachment to Charlie. It’s even funny how everyone aside from Charlie is adamant that Charlie give the locke a name.

STORY IMPRESSIONS:
I was on the edge of my seat with this one. There were so many surprises, many of them involving the Spirit of Kalatas, who can use it and how.

One of the best things I love about f/f omegaverse stories—aside from the marking, hot sex, and consensual semi-possessiveness—is the unexplainable pull that a couple has. It helps when one is in danger and the other can sense it, even when they’re apart, almost like a spiritual connection. Charlie’s making Kal do cardio with the way Kal rushes over to make sure Charlie’s safe whenever she feels Charlie is in distress or hurt.

Sometimes, I’m impressed by how Kal and Charlie can get it on when the situation around them is dire, but I chuck that up to them needing order and connection instead of being sexual deviants. That being said, the sex, character development, and external conflict is all balanced out well in my opinion.

I love all the little details that Charlie and Kal are meant to be together, even before they knew each other. It’s fated mates at its finest.

HIGHLIGHTS:
    * Highlight 1: Everyone asking if Charlie has given the locke a name yet.
    * Highlight 2: The small moments of domestic bliss between Charlie and Kal.
    * Highlight 3: Raine’s job offer for Charlie which I hope she takes in the future.
    * Highlight 4: Charlie’s initials having more meaning than she thinks.
    * Highlight 5: Andren’s reaction to anything and everything, especially when it’s Charlie and Raine joking about her.
    * Highlight 6: The entire sequence of Charlie breaking out prisoners.
    * Highlight 7: Kal stopping at nothing to get to Charlie when she’s taken.
    * Highlight 8: Kal’s competence and confidence when dealing with the leader of Alpha Prime.
    * Highlight 9: Alpha Prime and its leader getting what they deserve.
    * Highlight 10: Andren.

PERSONAL TAGS:
    * 3rd person, Charlie's POV

    * Cliffhanger ending
    * Competent protagonists

One day cliffhangers will be the death of me... jeez. I never wanted this book to end. The relationship between Kal and Charlie ist way too fascinating to put the book down. I love how they keep making progress and deal with whatever gets thrown their way. Also, I kinda need more of Raine and Dorlon now. I would love to see those two together. And I have yet to figure out how it is possible to not like one of them because as far as I’m concerned it’s impossible. Love the constant flow of new obstacles that don’t just seem like “oh look here’s a random problem to keep this interesting” but it’s one thing that ties all the books together like a slow buildup until it’s back to the Sworne after that earth disaster way back when... what am I gonna do with my life while I wait for more Karlie goodness?

OH MY GODS this was the best yet! It was full of action, of answers, of questions, of funny and hot moments. I thoroughly enjoyed it (not that I didn't before, but this was it, you know)

I'd like to note that that prologue hit the sad button again, boy did it hurt?! but also, Andren and Charlie's friendship is so sweet and it makes me laugh a lot.

That thing in New Earth, before they left to the mountains, made me think a lot, I felt Charlie's pain in my veins, then to learn what she learnt made it even more unsettling and made my heart aches for Kal. I'm glad things worked out in the end and I love that we can trust them to talk to each other, an established couple that work trough things instead of assuming makes any story, IMHO, even more beautiful. I can't wait to see it from Sumner's POV of it if we get the chance.

Edge of my seat action, a pending off-world invasion, Alpha Prime kidnapping humans and there are lots of questions steamrolling from previous books. Of course there's the hot sex. But I digress. Serrato Corps, Alpha Prime, Mercenary Guild, New Earth, the Kalmar, and the 'are they coming Sworne'.
A great read. I had to reference the other books because it was so exciting. So, I'd recommend this to others who enjoy strong women loving women characters. Kal & Charlie's bond deepens, Raine and Andren are strong secondaries and Dorlon's story gets a tad deeper.
I'll have to wait for the fifth installment.

Gripping and exciting

Another action packed thrilling story
I've enjoyed the whole series, but in this book we get to know more about Kal and as the bond between Kal and Charlie strengthens the risks get higher.
Kal and Charlie have such a great dynamic and it's very satisfying to read how even without dialogue they communicate effortlessly
I highly recommend the whole series and especially this book to anyone who likes sci-fi, action, strong female characters and sexy erotic intimate scenes
A great read, can't wait for the next book to be released

I loved it and I can't wait for other books in this world. I usually read Lexa Luthor's books in just a couple days or quicker despite what it shown on goodreads. I love the strong female characters, respect for the other's feelings and the hot sex. I wish I could find more information than her website on progress of upcoming books other than telling us that she's writing a certain book, such as when it might be finished or how much has been written. I understand burnout and pressure so I'm not complaining. Thank you so much for the most recent book!!!

Favorite!

My favorite volume so far! Wow, I truly can't get enough of this series. The writing really draws you in. The depth of the characters. Raine, Andren, and Dorlon even though they aren't the main characters, you want to know more about them and their backgrounds. Everything just fits so well. As for Charlie and Kal, I just want them to be happy and I know there will always be a cliffhanger, but I'm never ready for it!!
