When relationship guru Daisy Fletcher's flight is cancelled, postponing her publicity tour, she decides to make the best of a bad situation...by hitting on the hottie firefighter also stuck at the New Orleans airport. A couple of drinks at a local bar and a one-night stand with a sexy man sound like the perfect distraction.
Grumpy workaholic Travis McKay isn't quite what Daisy bargained on, though. As the night passes and they get to know each other intimately--both in and out of bed--Daisy and Travis start to wish this one-night stand could turn into something more.

Trapped at the New Orleans airport because of the heavy rain, Travis and Daisy know each other. She was leaving for a new tour to an upcoming book, she's a relationship coach. He was a firefighter who needed to go to NY for the birth of his first nephew. Daisy invites him to have a drink at Odyssey since the flight was canceled, and during UBER's trip, he finds out that because of her advice, his ex-girlfriend ended the relationship, and married his youngest brother.
At the bar, Declan, on stage, tries to lighten the mood and calls the couple to participate in a game, but the result is not as funny as expected. Hurt, Daisy runs away in the rain. Feeling guilty, Travis goes after her. With sparks between them rising, they go to her house. In the morning, coffee with beignet and she calls a UBER for him to leave.
Sometime later, in NY, Travis learns that Daisy was in town, and he goes after her.
This super cute story follows Daisy and Travis's one night-stand. After they're stranded in NOLA because of a bad storm, they explore the attraction building between them and more! Linton's characters burst with fun banter, smexy times and an irresistible opposites-attract vibe. Nicely done! :)
This is Jodi's first release in 2020 and if this particular book is any indication what future releases in 2020 will be - watch out for them! I do believe that I found my new book boyfriend. I don't give that title away easily. The dialogue flowed smoothly and easily throughout the book. The following day, I had a bit of a book hangover but boy was it worth it. I know we have all read a book where there was a lag in the book, I did not feel that with this book at all. I didn't want to put the book down which resulted in a very happy me. I long to see what happened to the couple in the days/month ahead as well as seeing what the future holds with the Boston based family. You gotta read it to find out who I am talking about. (wink, wink) I do hope that Jodi gets to visit these characters again because I fell in love with them.
This was a really good book. There were a few grammatical issues here and there but nothing that deterred from the story! A very true inst-chemistry story between a FDNY Fireman and a relationship coach! Spending one night together was not enough for either of them, which they refuse to acknowledge out of fear. A good story and good addition to Kristen Proby's world!! Definitely enjoyable!
I thought this was a really quick read. Daisy and Travis are at the New Orleans airport unable to make their flights. They have an attraction to each other and decide to have a one night stand. Neither one wants to have the relationship end but they live in different cities. Will they be able to have a relationship?
