What a great first book to a new series. There were a few messed up words, but that's normal nothing that will take a star from reading this. Loved the mystery, romance and magic in this book. The two main characters were great. The villain though short in her story in this was also great too. Too bad there wasn't like a bigger backstory to that, but whatever it was still good.
Laura came to the little town called Mystic. To prove once and for all that shifters or skinwalkers are real. The bear attacks in the area are her biggest leads, if she can just get some information from the locals....but it seems no one knows anything. Then her next door neighbor is nothing but a good looking shot of tequila that she wouldn't mind having....

Bear Next Door is a paranormal romance with shifters, magic, danger, action, adventure, fate, revenge, banter, humour, and more.
This has all the ingredients that I normally love to find in a romance; whilst I didn't mind the story there are things that just didn't connect with me and make me fully present when reading it. I felt like something was ‘missing’, for me. The premise is good but it didn't wow me. although this book I liked better than the others.

I enjoyed this book. The chemistry between Laura and Sam was off the chart. Laura has come to Mystic after all the reported bear attacks, as she wants to prove to her professor and the rest of her class that shifters exist. She’s been interested in shifters since she saw one shift when she was a little girl. Sam works for the Shifter Protection Agency “SPA”and has been investigating the attacks and trying to work out what has done it. Sam and his “brothers” find a scent of shifter but it smells wrong at most of the crime scenes. Sam’s father figure/alpha/boss David has tasked Sam to keep and eye on Laura and to find out what she’s doing and make her research disappear.
Sam moves next door to Laura and they get to know each other and completely hit it off. Laura finds out that Sam’s a shifter when she’s attacked by werewolf type creatures so Sam shifts to protect her. She’s freaked out at first and tells him to leave so he does, but they later make up and things are great again. Sam gets called into work and tells her that he’ll come over when he’s home. He gets home from work late and goes to see Laura, but she has no idea who he is. Sam’s realises that since he foiled the attack on Laura by the werewolves, they’ve found another way to stop her, by wiping her memory with a memory loss potion. Sam’s completely devastated that his mate can’t even remember him. Will Laura get memories back and how will the SPA stop the werewolves? I loved meeting Sam’s ”brothers” William, Axel and Even but Stella the bada*se witch who works with them is my total girl crush. I’m really looking forward to reading William’s story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.

An uprising is taking place and the shifters need to prepare for it.
The Shifter Protection Agency consists of the Alpha, David and four shifter members, Sam, William, Even and Axel. The four shifters are like brothers and David their father since he took them in at a young age and raised them. Sam's parents were killed by human hunters and the others as well lost their families. Within the agency is Stella a witch who helps them with her capabilities with any issues that could arise in their town. She is quite a character. The agency is comprised of the shifters, witches and warlocks and they all do their due diligence in protecting the small town.
Laura moves to Mystic, Connecticut from Dallas. She is researching the bear attacks that have been on the news. Her goal being to prove that shape shifters exist. She does a bit of investigative work and finds some odd things. This happens to bring her into danger.
Meanwhile, her relationship with Sam is getting serious in a short amount of time. She comes to find out about Sam being a shifter as well as the agency during an incident where her life was supposed to be done away with by Carmen. She is a shifter who means to do harm to the agency along with the humans of Mystic. She's gotten the help of a bad warlock which David's crew is unaware of except that someone is viciously killing humans.
Things get very interesting which make this book a page-turner. Definitely a must read.

[ Rating: 3.5 out of 5 ] Good story that gradually got better with each passing page. I was fully invested in the mysterious threat that could expose shifters as well as the spicy, budding connection between the main characters.
Sam and Laura’s relationship is very cute with an abundance of moments of high heat and sexual attraction. I love that Laura is a human trying to prove (in a good way) that shapeshifters exist, which is a polar opposite and major obstacle of Sam who works to keep shifters in line and hidden from humans. I also liked Sam’s strong, familial bonds with his best friends/brothers and David (alpha/father figure).
We learn a lot about Sam, yet I feel we don’t learn enough about Laura. I do wish there was more active investigating instead of passive speculation. The antagonist’s scheme was good, although I didn’t care for the monologuing. Also, how many people work at the SPA? Because the ratio of good to bad guys at the height of the story didn’t add up.
While I wasn’t wowed by this story, I'm very interested in reading the rest of the series, especially Stella (a witch) and Even’s (bear shifter) book. This series has a lot of potential.

This is the first book set in the world of the SPA (Shifter Protection Agency) n a agency that not only protects shifters from hunters but also helps to keep their secret. Like all Brittany's books it flows well has characters that draw you in and manages to keep you engaged until you turn the last page

I love this book and all the characters in it but my favorites have to be Sam and Laura and how they over come challenges to be together. From a very young age Laura has believed in shifters after see a girl change into a bear and she never let it go and now she has come to mystic where people are missing and bears are to blame. Sam is a bear shifter and has been given the job to watch the new stranger in town after she has been asking around about all the missing people in town but what surprises him the most is the attraction he feels for her and now after getting to know her things move very quickly and they are always together and falling in love but life never runs smoothly and danger shows it’s ugly face and Sam must keep Laura safe but in doing so reveals that he is a bear shifter. What happens now between them with evil forces coming for them all and the Shifter protection Agency (SPA) trying to stop the evil from rising and taking over.

Can a scientist solve the case? Laura moved to Mystic to prove shifters exist and to find out what or who is violently killing people in the woods. She knows real bears would run away not attack humans, and she doesn’t believed that the shifters in the are doing the killings either. Sam works for the Shifter Protection Agency, and they are investigation the recent murders, because at each crime scene there is an odd smell. The smell is similar to a bear but different. Because Laura is new in town he is assigned to watch her by moving in next door. The more time they spend together he knows she is his mate. Then she is attacked by mutant werewolves. He kills them but why is Laura being targeted and what is doing the killings? I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved Bear Next Door! I have read other books by Brittany White and loved them as well, so I wasn’t surprised to immediately get sucked into this ‘world’ as well! She is very good at world building! I love how this story takes place in Mystic, Connecticut, which is actually a real place, but also sounds like the perfect name for a town with bear shifters. Sam works for the Shifter Protection Agency and Laura comes to town trying to prove that shapeshifters exist. He is assigned to keep an eye on her....at least that’s how it starts. :) This is a great story and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series!

Laura is a somewhat scientist looking to prove shifters exist after her experience as a little girl. She goes to the town of Mystic where tons of attacks existed. Sam is part of a family of bear shifters, witches and warlocks who work for SPA (Shifter Paranormal Agency). He sees Laura in a bar one night and is enthralled by her and vice versa. They finally hook up when he becomes her neighbor and her his assignment. The attacks have something weird going on – magic. They will have to defend all the humans from these aberrations and find who is in charge before they kill Laura and others. I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

Great start to what I am sure is going to be an amazing series. Mystic was such a quaint little town. Laura is determined to prove shifters exist. She doesn't realize the danger she has put herself in. Sam's job is to make sure Laura does not reveal their shifter secret. But Sam falls for her quickly, and vice versa. When the truth is right in front of her, a chain of events rock their new relationship and really put it to the test. Sam and Laura had a beautiful story. I can't wait to learn more about the others. A must read for shifter lovers. This is my honest opinion of an advanced copy I received.

What interesting phone call between them are we privy to? Who is Carmen? What and who is Adrian? How do they know each other/ What does Kimberly do to Laura? What is Carmen's thought process? What big plan does she have? Oh my goodness! This book was intense! Read and see what happens!

I loved Sam and Laura’s story!! Laura just knew shifters existed but proving it to her skeptical professors and classmates drove her to move to Mystic. There she meets Sam and it is over from there. Sam is tasked with keeping an eye on Laura so the SPA moves him in next door to her. Laura’s investigating is getting too close to proving that shifters really exist and that is frowned upon by the SPA. As Sam and Laura get closer a certain witch doesn’t take to kindly to it and puts a wedge between them. Will they be able to stop the shifters and Warlock tearing up the town?

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Bear Next Door by Brittany White is the first book in the Shifter Protector Agency series. I really enjoyed Sam and Laura's story. This action packed quick read pulled me in from the first page and I could not put it down. I loved that the secondary characters were strong and interwoven in the story. Sexy shifters, quirky witch and steamy love scenes (Mature Readers Only Please) make for a winning combination.

What an exciting great start to a new series! Laura is out to prove that shifters do exist while Sam is out to protect paranormals. Sam is a bear shifter who meets Laura in a bar and lies to her from the start. Even becomes her neighbor as his job. Well as in real life lies have a way of coming out and causing lots of trouble. Can Laura forgive him for his lies? Can they, as soul mates, make it though this troubling time? Between lies and magic who knows?!?!

Great start to a new series! The author brings strong characters in Laura and Sam and gives them an instant attraction. She moves the story quickly and smoothly as she takes them on a dangerous journey. It's well written with descriptive scenes and I enjoyed reading. I'm looking forward to the next book.

She's human and he's a bear shifter, but that's not stopping him. He knows she's his mate. They must find their way through local murders, missing humans and evil magic. But this story brings them through to heartfelt love. Great crew of characters and paranormal experiences.

very interesting start to a new series with a bit of a different spin on shifter story lines. very good character description, well paced, excitement, drama, suspense and much more to keep the reader interested to the very end.

Good book!
I liked this book a lot. Very decent read. I really hated Laura’s name though (personal reasons) lol other than that she had some great traits! She also turned into a real freak after learning about his bear lol. I’m REALLY interested in Stellas story. She really captivated me though. I can’t wait for hers. I hope David gets a book as well.

Nice Read!
I enjoyed reading this book and I think others will also. I loved the chemistry between Sam and Laura! Even after her memory was stolen, I loved how the love they had for each other was strong enough for her to find her way back to his arms! I definitely recommend this book to others!

AWESOME
I loved every moment of it. It took what I loved about the author's other series, with the Stauss brothers, and made it even better. I completely recommend this book and can not wait for the sequel
I loved every moment of it. It took what I loved about the author's other series, with the Stauss brothers, and made it even better. I completely recommend this book and can not wait for the sequel

It was good.
But I found myself been upset that Sam wasn't with Lauwhen she needed him so it made me read the book in 3 days even though is a short book. I was aspirated and I stopped reading and do something else. 😆 🤣 😂

I liked it. It flowed well and it was fun reading about the characters. I enjoyed the world that's been built. There was a good antagonist and plenty of action. I wish there was more development when it came to the bad guys and the attacks. If recommend the book.
