I'm sorry but this book wasn't for me. Please note, I have not read the other books within this series and that may be the reason behind my low rating. Also, this rating has a lot to do with the reviewer than the actual book itself.
From reading the synopsis, I thought, wow this book sounds amazing. MC, trouble and romance. Win-win. I couldn't wait to get started, however, I found it rather boring. I'm sorry.
Mammoth and Tamara are well suited and are amazing characters. They are passionate and loyal, I loved their life goals and their attitude towards life. Mammoth is so sweet towards Tamara and his mother. I genuinely can't fault the characters at all.
My issue, I must admit was the pace, there were a lot of irrelevant and repetitive dialogues and scenes, that if I'm honest I put the speed up on my audiobook player so it would get to the point. (SORRY!)I love Joe Arden as a narrator, however, I have listened to so many audiobooks and 99% of the books I have listened to, he has narrated an upper-class businessman and I think, I couldn't visualise his voice being in an MC. (See what I mean about being more to do with the reviewer). Joe has an amazing voice and I could listen to him all day, I just couldn't visualise him as Mammoth.
I am giving this book 2 stars because 1 - the characters are perfect! I loved their wholeness and their ethics.
2 - Even though the pace was on the slow side, in my opinion, and I wanted more to happen, Chelle's writing technique is beautiful, her descriptions were on point and she knows how to write a hero haha!
Overall, this book wasn't for me, however, I am in a tiny minority so give it a try and hopefully you will love it!
Thank you to the author, valentine pr and audible for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
